We were booked in for a meal for my hen party last night, manager was fantastic and helpful. Upgrade our drinks package as it was a special occasion........ great finishing touch to a lovely meal. #itsthelittlethingsthatmatter thank you.

Wow! My husband and I had a wonderful meal before we headed to the theatre - very attentive service from all staff- food was delicious! Well worth a visit!
The food is always fabulous, and red hot , special thanks to all the staff for finding my marks and Spencer’s shopping, which I picked up the next day .
Pizza was nice and hot when it arrived, nice and fresh. Very good service. Very good overall. Only ever had positive experiences here.
Lovely food great service would go again
Great food and service, nice property, thank you
We had booked a table for 7 for 4:30 but were about 40mins early. Seated etc no problem and they waited for us to order till my son in law arrived a bit later than us. Order was taken and served promptly, nice and hot. My daughter's main course was wrong but it was their fault so quickly made her correct order whilst leaving the incorrect one for her to pick at while we were all eating. Food was very good and waitresses were attentive. Restaurant was very quiet. Toilets could do with checking and looking after a bit more often. Overall excellent experience and paid with Tesco vouchers so not at all expensive. Certainly will visit again.
Nothing not to love about it. Fantastic vegetarian and summer salad options.
A lot of people might feel that Pizza Express being a chain, food quality is poor. I don't totally agree or disagree. But what I can say is that Pizza Express is the best pizza chain in the UK and the closest you will find to a true italian pizza in the UK high street. I love the Calabrese pizza and especially at Manchester Central. There, service is always friendly, ambience is great and they serve the Calabrese pizza at its best! Totally recommend it!
First off, this is a pizza restaurant, not an Italian restaurant that also has pizza. They do have salads and awesome appetizers but this place is all about pizza. Don't let the casual name of this place fool you. It is very nice, not overly fancy but definitely upscale.
You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommended.
I never thought I would be such a pizza express fan! I have been a few times over the years and it's usually out of convenience. I went in to use my Taste Card and we wanted something quick before going to the cinema.
From the second we walked in everything was great, we greeted by the friendliest waiter and he continued to look after us, he went the extra mile to provide great service, offering us some great suggestions. I had a glass of shiraz which was delicious! The doughballs didn't' fail to disappoint and my pasta was deliciously cheesey and creamy.
Literally I can't find anything to fault with the service and food we were given. I usually prefer an independent restaurant but I didn't feel like I was in a chain.
Top Marks for Pizza Express on Peter Street. it was a pleasure!
You know what? I love my indies, but when it comes to quality chains, I can't beat a bit of Pizza Express. This one is fantastic for eating at, but also taking away from.
Case in point - Orange Wednesday a while back to see T'Avengers. Off went I and the mister. Used our codes to get two giant discounted epic pizzas to go. Popped boxes in tote bag with my coat draped over them. Went to see T'Avengers with Yellowcard discount AND Orange Wednesday code, paid just over £2 each. Chose seats at the back. Proceeded to devour pizza while watching film.
This is how we do it!
Disclaimer: AMC, if you're reading this, please don't ban me from your cinema for scoffing secret pizza. I promise I didn't make a mess.
Plus, this branch is nicely put together for when you're just looking for a quick bite whilst still making goo-goo eyes across the table. And as for Pizza Express overall, I can't complain. It falls under my classic Wouldn't Pay Full Price For It But Happy With Code Price rule for certain chains (hello GBK and Zizzi), but for that I usually give 3 stars. Pizza Express gets 4 stars because of the variety, the speed and the fact that when you're watching your weight pre-wedding, the Leggera pizzas are actually healthier than the salads. TRUTH!
I'm going there tonight before watching Batman. I am however not taking my pizza into le cinema this time.
The mother ship of pizza expresses in Manchester this one has a floor space big enough to be an elephant enclosure. As expected Pizza Express does the decor and vibe ting very well, with 2 big floors and a big bar.
The food is usually good and this pizza express is particularly special due to its proximity to the AMC cinemas, this means come every Wednesday night you can get 2 for 1 film tickets followed by 2 for 1 pizza express (if your with orange, if not you can still save some green on your pizzas by searching the internet for a voucher). Perfect for the couples on a budget evening.
Pizza express has some awesome pizzas and they've recently started doing legaras? (I think their called) which are thin crust, so all n all it's for winners.
Tucked away on Peter Street, this is my fave Pizza Express for 2 reasons:
- its proximity to the AMC and Cornerhouse makes it perfecto for pre-cinema gorgings.
- it's well nice inside.
Some PEs (haha, not PE, yuk!) are big and loud, and some are small and cosy. Well, this one is big, but cosy. The mezzanine floor gives an intimate air to both levels, as the lower level is shaded and enclosed, and the upper level feels somehow special and more private. Weirdly, when me and Curly Friend last popped in on the way to (ironically) see Twilight, we were seated in THE shadowiest corner. Maybe they thought we were on a sexy romantic date. Or maybe we both looked like hell from doing spreadsheets all bloody day. Either way, it was...interesting.
The service here is great, and there are a good few cutie booties on the staff. One gripe, though, is that every time I've been here, the service has been great, up to the point of getting the bill, at which point you can't hail a waiter for love nor money. Whether this is just bad luck, or they're putting off bringing the bill in the hope we'll order more food or drink, I can't say. Minor irk, and not a reason not to go.
PE is easily one of the best chains in the country. I have neverm, ever been disappointed by the food, the wine is good (if a liiiitle pricey for what it is) and those doughballs are about the tastiest wee hunks o bread I ever did see.
This PE is quieter than the more central branches, and has a classier tone because of it, even on Orange Wednesdays. A good PE to go to if you want to forget that you're just like all the other peasants.
Pizza express anywhere in this city is always going to be my best best place for lunch or dinner or just a pizza! I don't need a time to enjoy my pizza! Especially when they're oh so delicious with the thinest crust and yummiest toppings!
So getting back to this Pizza Express, It is great great great! I usually come here for dinners after a good film at the Amc's nearby and I try not to fill myself with all the salsa and nachos inside!
Most amazing thing to have when you plan Pizza Express are the 2 for 1 vouchers! Then you can have 2 massive pizzas for just a tenner! What more can one want from life?
We usually go here before watching a film at the AMC, which is around the corner and it seems to have become a bit of a pre-film ritual, so the location is spot on. I like the interior of this particular restaurant as it's compact and has a two tier floor and high ceilings, with the usual black/cream/dark blue decor.
The pizza's are imaginative and the bases are always nice and crisp, I've never had a bad Pizza Express Pizza and I must have tried every one off the menu over the years. The salads are big and fresh too so we usually get one to share too. The open plan style of the restaurants keep a lively atmosphere of chefs swing pizza dough around, clinking glasses and an inviting hum of conversation. I've never been in a Pizza Hut since these opened.
The best thing is that if you look on those money saving website you can almost always find vouchers to print out for 2-4-1 pizza's and other good deals. At the moment they're doing any two mains for £12, bargain!
It's a shame more people aren't venturing out to support restaurants during these difficult times, but Pizza Express remains consistently good and us always worth visiting.
The Peter Street venue was lovely, the staff are welcoming and the food cooked well. The only thing missing was some atmosphere, but the lack of footfall through the day would help this issue.
The restaurant has a theatre theme and the neon lighting, pictures of past performers and stage references dotted about was a nice touch.
I'll definitely go back, hopefully more people will visit !!
Walked in and was brought to a table in a couple of seconds. The restaurant is quite spacious so it was nice to not be cramped. I had a starter and main voucher (there are always Pizza Express vouchers online so make sure you get one before you go!) and the waiter said that wasn't a problem and took my order. The food came out very fast, much faster than expected. The food lived up to Pizza Express expectations - it wasn't spectacular but it was definitely good quality. My waiter's name was Adrian and he was very helpful and attentive. I would recommend this for a nice reliable meal when in Manchester.
Several vegan options. I always enjoy the vegan pizzas. Service was really good in this particular pizza express and we managed to get a table without waiting on a busy Saturday night.
They dealt with a pack of 20 hens extremely well, nice layout we were separate to the rest of diners by being on a mezzanine floor where we learned how to make our own pizza and calzone - the Helper was lovely. Shame that when it came to baking the pizzas, the staff on the main floor didn't have a clue whose was whose and didn't apologise for mix ups. My waitress skipped me on the drinks order too. Still good location and ambience.
Really pleasant visit, nine of us were seated quickly and served promptly. Decent food and a good atmosphere. Will visit again.
If u are one ☝️ of the people who like salads or pizza 🍕 here is the right place for it,place it’s really a good place for a romantic dinner 🍽.the staff are really 👍 nice and professional.and u can start from now reserving for ur Christmas 🎄 dinner.enjoy it
We were going to go to Rudy's but it was a busy Saturday evening and I had my toddler with me.
This pizza express is huge, service is great, pizzas very tasty.
Definitely recommend if you have little ones with you and need good, quick food and friendly service.
We popped into Pizza express today whilst out in the city centre on a bee hunt. We chose Pizza Express as we have never been disappointed and today was no exception.
This Pizza Express is set in a rest location and has been tastefully decorated in the theme of the theatre/music hall.
Despite the fact it had clearly been a busy weekend the staff were still welcoming even though they were trying to manage the crowds. The two kids loved their meals and my partner and I chose new pizzas that we gad never had before and they were fantastic.
Service was really good. We said we only had an hour to spare and they got us seated and took our order straight away. We were served quickly and politely. You always know you'll get decent food here at a reasonable price.
Fantastic for a chain restaurant!! We visited on a Christmas Saturday, the place was full of big parties. We were seated and served in a more than acceptable time. The staff were wonderful (especially Vicay) very helpful happy and (despite being very busy) wonderfully chatty. Oh and the food was very tasty, prompt and hot.
Pizza express definitely serves the best pizza, choice of thin or thick bases, and a good choice of topping. It's a bit expensive, but you can usually get a discount code from somewhere, or use 2 for 1 offers from previous visits.
The restaurant itself is cosy, it's a lot quieter than other ones in the city.
Staff are friendly and the food comes out quickly
Its really nice. quite large inside so good chance of getting seated right away. If there is a delay there is a proper waiting area inside. staff very friendly, polite. food has been consistently good over many visits
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even when we asked to be moved. The food here is amazing particularly the dough balls and mozzarella and tomato salad as starters! Voucher cloud do a 2 course deal for £11.95 with selected restrictions on the menu! You can also use meerkat meals here but only on selected days (not Saturdays)
One of the nicer Pizza Express branches. This is slightly tucked away on a side street off Peter Street (the entrance is around the corner) and is nicely appointed. The restaurant is roughly "L" shaped and arranged on a few levels, with lots of windows and a piano as a focal point. The staff are always friendly and the food is just as good as any other Pizza Express restaurant, but the place just has a nice feel to it. Be warned though - it gets busy so expect to queue at peak times.
