I have seen this type of Thai food stall in a few cities now and think this one is exceptional, friendly staff, tasty fresh food and value for money, well worth a visit.
If we’re in manchester we always call here for lunch and every time they never fail. If you want really good tasty food and very good value for money then definitely take a trip here! We recommend the Penang and massaman dishes! And fantastic service to go with the great food �
love all the food there specially the salad sauce so good and for people who love spicy very high recommended and for whos not like spice u can tell the staff about it..i also thumps up for the staff cause they always do what the customer ask for..if u love asian food cheap but good taste this is very high recommended

Tried Hong Thai for the first time today after a few work friends had recommended it to me! The ladies working there were so lovely and nice! The food was amazing and I really really enjoyed it! Will definitely be visiting more on my lunch breaks! (:

Tasty Food!
Plenty of options to choose from and service is fairly fast considering how busy it gets during peak hours such as week day lunch time.
They cater for Vegan options too. Some items are shown on the shop front. They are happy to help when you ask them too.
My go to (pretty much weekly) is the salt and pepper tofu (vegan). Great tasting meal, big portion with plenty of flavours.
2024 update: the food is still great, unfortunately the price is now close to £8 more a meal which is quite a lot for lunch.
Great food, very tasty. One of the best stores in the Arndale market But a bit more expensive than other options, lunch would cost just over £7.
The Arndale market is a great place to visit to find a range of affordable international food.
this was my all time favourite lunch spot in town and i was absolutely gutted to learn that it had to close recently due to a fire incident!! when it hopefully reopens in a new location i highly highly recommend that you go and check it out!! the food was SO tasty (the salt and pepper chicken is life changing) and the staff were literally the nicest people ever (lily we love you <3)
Must Try! Absolutely Great Thai food in a brief expression. Really enjoy the lunch here at Hong Thai, located at Manchester Arndale Shopping Center, to the opposite of Food Market. I've been hearing about Hong Thai for almost a year i reckoned, hence, super excited that finally got a chance to go here, get a fabulous taste of Quality Thai Food. We got Pad Thai, and Tom Yum Stir fried rice, they taste marvelous 😋 👌 Definitely will come more often, much appreciated the authenticity from the Thai dishes and friendly atmosphere at Hong Thai !
Wow the queue’s at this place will tell you all you need to know, all their meals are absolutely delicious and very authentic. Tried at least everyday dish once and loved all of them. All the meats Halal and the portions are generous, value for money. I Will definitely recommend to grab your lunch here and try it out if you get a chance.
The food is so authentic with great variety. The portion is very generous! most importantly the lady serve us is very friendly and cheerful. Would definitely come back again!
Seen an article on Manchester Evening News with all different places to try in the Arndale market, I have tried many places in there but it was the first time I went to Hong Thai.. I ordered the special Chang Mai Curry, WOW absolutely packed with flavour and so fresh it was delicious and I would highly recommend! Thank you so much ❤️
Everytime I visit Hong Thai it continues to impress me. I've tried a few things off the menu now and I've enjoyed every single one of them - personal favourites have been the salt and pepper chicken and lamb massaman curry with jasmine rice. It's become a regular lunch spot when I'm in the office.
The prices here are so reasonable, the portions are big and the service is very quick even though it gets really busy (always a good sign). I can't wait to try more of what they offer on the menu. It is definitely a spot to visit if you're near arndale and also need a quick lunch, only wished they stayed open for longer hours so I could grab it after work aswell!
Hong Thai - This streetfood stall is AMAZING. If you’re yet to try the food you’re missing out. The food is delicious and they have a wide variety of different meals you can pick from. Highly recommended!

Love this place, so tasty and great value. We ordered the fish penang curry and pad Thai, classic flavours, just the right level of spice with a good portion of meat and salad. £6.99 per dish with a drink. Highly recommended
As soon as I found out that I had a work meeting in city centre, I thought of Hong Thai for lunch. We used to go there regularly until COVID. I was actually quite excited to get my lunch from there.
Menu has expanded to Hong Kong style street food since boss' husband is from HK. I ordered what we used to order which was Panang Curry Fish. Price has gone up but it's still a reasonable price at £8 in city centre.
Big portion, came with egg rice and salad, and a drink.
Lady boss was so friendly when she took the order and even asked if I needed a bag as it was a takeaway. I had to rush to catch a bus back to my workplace 30 minutes away. Meal was still hot. Food tasted how it used to be which was approved by my Malaysian husband. Delicious.
Would definitely like to eat from there again if we're in city centre during lunchtime.
I went to Arndale Markey to try Hong Thai for the first time ever after seeing good reviews on TikTok. It was the best food I've had in a long time! The staff were super welcoming and friendly, they pointed out all the best sellers for me. I ended up chosing the Peri Peri Chicken with egg rice, veg and sweet potato, it was drenched in a lovely creamy sauce. I asked for it spicy and they served it just as I wanted, 10/10. I also ordered chicken dumplings with soy sauce, it was DELICIOUS, again 10/10. I highly recommend Hong Thai in Arndale Market, i will definitely be going again!
Nice food. Not really authentic but good enough. Customer service is really good and wait is average. Prices are decent. Worth a try.
Amazing. A friend took me there yesterday saying I’d love their food. I really did! It was freshly made as we waited, just the flavours were to die for:) The staff were lovely and the food was simply delicious, with generous portions. Just wonderful.
Very nice Thai dishes! The Tom Yam fried rice is full of favor with “wok hei”. Will try other dishes next time.

I don't know if it's because it's the first takeaway/restaurant meal that I've had since 23rd March that made this lunch such an amazing experience, but all I can say is "WOW!" I chose a Lamb Massaman curry with jasmine rice and the flavours were so deep and exciting! I was so happy I could have cried! Portion size was generous (far more than I'd usually eat for a lunchtime) and there was plenty of tender lamb pieces, vegetables and rice - all of which was cooked fresh and hot, still very hot by the time I walked back to the office to eat it. The red peppers, sweet potatoes and aromatic curry sauce combined so well with the chunks of lamb, and the shredded lettuce garnish added a crisp contrasting texture to it all. The rice was soft and fluffy, soaking up the curry and the crispy shallots on top was just a lovely typical addition for sweetness. It cost £7 including a bottle of water - far better value and quality, and more filling than a similar priced burger meal or fancy sandwich. Can't wait to try another dish soon!

The food was nice. The portion size wasn't as much as I thought for £6 (main and a drink). It is a bit over priced for what you get from a stall. The quality is really good and so is the taste and etc. But just think it's priced a bit too high for what it is.
