I've eaten here plenty of times, can be a bit of a wait to get seated but the texting service helps out so we could go for a quick drink before. Only time I have been disappointed was when they over cooked my bacon on the burger. Everything else is spot on, staff are great and the food is amazing.
OMG! The most amazing bacon fries with bacon mayo and bacon rain! Yes bacon rain! A hidden gem. Good service, amazing burgers. 4 very satisfied eaters!
Not even joking you now...
I am a burger lover... it’s my favourite food
Almost famous do the best burgers ever!!!
I had the fairground burger, it came with a piece of candy floss on top of it and yes I was very confused but I didn’t want it to end! Mouth is drooling at the thought...Staff really nice. Ran out of bitch juice so the waitress recommended other cocktails. I had the cherry bomb.... delicious! Also shared some cheeky Mac and cheese balls
Was taken here by my cousin and her boyfriend and they promised amazing burgers to die for. Being a burger connoisseur myself I had to see if this was true. The burgers here are so amazing, best I've tasted in a long while. I had the "Double Wonder Burger" and it lasted about 5 seconds!! Great staff, cool vibes and quirky artwork. If I had one critisim it would be that the fries are way to salty. The burgers just so damn tasty!! A definite must try venue!
Me and my boyfriend love this place! The cocktails are amazing and the burgers but the bacon, bacon fries are our ultimate fave! We wish we could buy your bacon mayo by the bucket load!
Lovely food served up by lovely staff. I would highly recommend anyone to visit and sample the burgers and fries. Will be visiting again.
We ordered two burgers which were out of this world and wings and fries! Food is amazing and the staff are really friendly. Would recommend
Best burger I've EVER had! Absolutely delicious food in the coolest setting! The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough, and the boozy milkshake was easy five stars!
I’ve been to almost famous a few times and it will always be one of my favourites, this time thought I’d bring my southern other half to lose his almost famous virginity yesterday! Needless to say it didn’t disappoint beautiful as always, he’s already decided what he wants to eat next time we come!
A very good spot, the burgers are good as expected. They make sure it is indeed a medium rare patty when you ask for the medium rare, unlike other burger places I’ve been to. Service is quick. Recommended!
Decent dinner
Visited with a friend fairly early on a Friday evening, place was fairly busy but got a table no problem. Enjoyed the unfairground burger and the bacon bacon fries which I remembered having a few years ago at their Great Northern site.
Service was fine, food did take a while to come out but we weren't in a rush, so no issue. Overall, enjoyed my visit and would happily go back
This place was good restaurant . By far. Seriously. I ate at several different places and this place is the good. Service, food, drink selection...all Good! Staff were good
Almost definitely the best burger I've ever had. It's not the cheapest burger you'll find on the streets, and you have to time it well (i.e., come between 8:00-9:00, and expect to be told to come back in 30 mins, but don't worry; they have a good texting notification system to let you know a table's ready). I don't think bookings are available, but once you're in the door, it's got some great drinks, shakes, beers... The fries are amazing, and a great choice of toppings, and the burgers are to die for. Will definitely be back soon!
This is our year of beer. We have always been fans, but the past few months have seen a vague interest morph into an all-out hoppy obsession. We have:. made our way up and down the Bermondsey Beer Mile. checked out Craft Beer Rising. sipped small batch special releases from Brooklyn Beer. walked a swaying path between several London Beer City venues, and spent a colourful afternoon at Beavertown’s Rainbow Project.
Up a spooky staircase, along a graffiti covered coridor and across a bar area that could have been designed by Willy Wonka himself, you’ll find the ultimate grown-up playground (and Manchester best burgers).
The Alabama Slammer burrito was so yummy I wanted to eat my fingers, just for the fact that they touched it.
It was a sweet and tangy pulled pork with a slight hint of chilly, the Cabbage slaw was sweet and salty at the same time, just bursting full of flavors all in one wrap.
The restaurant itself is awesome!! You have to go here!!!
Absolutely gorgeous burgers cooked to perfection with great combination of toppings. Absolutely love it and found it by chance walking by (got hooked by the smell) and just had to give it a go. Never looked back since.
Great Burgers and chips !. Went here recently with friends and each one of us loved the burgers and the chips too. So if you want a good burger in Manchester , this is the place to be. And I've eaten burgers around the world and I still think this one is right up there, contrary to what others have said. They do take their time in getting the order but the wait is worth it. On a Sunday we had to queue up a short time but didn't mind that. I thought the staff were courteous too. Only negative is the cocktails which weren't at all good, we tried different ones too..the serving in bottles concept was a nice touch though. It's a good atmosphere to relax in and informal environment. And if its burgers you are after , get there !
If you don't go here expecting fine dining you are in for a great night. The place is cool and has a great atmosphere, lovely environment to eat in. Not to mention the burger, the best burger I've ever had and I've eaten burgers costing more than double the price of these extremely reasonable burgers (£6/£7) each for excellently sized burgers. Also their fries are great, had the bacon bacon and the plain fries, nice to get some sweet potato fries in there. Will be back, how soon is the only question.
Suffering from one of the worst hangovers of my entire life, what better time for me to head to my local burger bar and see what they've been up to? To say the previous 7 days for Almost Famous had been a week to forget was something of an understatement and I was intrigued to see whether all this bad publicity may have had much effect on business.
...the Almost Famous burger which I ordered was simple, a well cooked moist patty with lettuce, tomato on a brioche bun. This was a delight and as satisfying as a plain burger that I’ve had in a while. By comparison the Triple Nom dwarfed the classic Almost Famous. A burger with added pulled pork and copious amounts of sauce I was envious as mine did not quench my hunger. It was at this point when I observed the Triple Nom being demolished that the name for the blog came to
Almost Famous seems to have some kind of anti-marketing strategy. Banning photography (not that it stopped us, we got sneaky!), professing to be anti-blogger and anti-press, and having zero signs on their building that would indicate that a burger restaurant is there. So I’ve no idea how people started finding out about them in the first place! I can only imagine that trying to make it a secret and banning photog
We really enjoyed the food, the laid back atmosphere and the friendly staff. Was it what we were expecting? No. Would we go again? Definitely.
The touch of spiciness adds that pleasing bit of heat and the avocado is a lovely creamy addition. Best of all, these toppings are not masking the actual flavour of the burger meat. I'd have preferred it a little bit pinker (I'd asked for the burger rare) but it's too late to worry about that now it's in my fat belly.
We've probably consumed as many calories in 20 minutes as we have all week, but no matter, the dirty deed is done. We'll most likely be back in another few months when we get that urge again. It's our none guilty pleasure.
My ‘Hong Kong Philly’ was just stunning; quality meat topped with cheese, teriyaki cheese steak, jalapeños, grilled onions, BBQ fried onions, lemon herb mayo & my favourite ever condiment, Sriracha. I’ve eaten a hell of a lot of burgers in the last two years but this is right up there with the best of them.
Awaken the senses
Loosen the belts.
Meat from the grinder
Or rib meat that melts
Suicide sauce
To give it a kick
Fries that are winning
And fingers to lick
Would we go back? Most definitely but probably always at lunchtime. The wider choice and preferable ambience of the Other Place on Turner street would get our vote in the evening. But well done to the owners for the bravery in opening somewhere like this on an obviously limited budget and providing us with such excellent food.
But it’s a brilliant place to while an hour or two away, original or not.
Special mention to the Bacon Bacon Fries – which are great chips, dripping in Velveeta and bacon bits. Salty, delicious, amazing, £4. Get them if you ever come. Burgers about £7.
As with anything that's put on at Almost Famous you know the crazy amount of dedication and passion that has been poured in to every detail of every dish and at Pig Out, you could definitely taste it.
If you're looking for a burger experience that's beyond ordinary, look no further than Almost Famous.
Let's talk about those burgers – they're not just delicious; they're culinary masterpieces. Each bite is a burst of flavor that leaves you craving more. And let's not forget the fries with bacon – they're not just a side dish; they're a sensation.
But what truly sets Almost Famous apart is its stellar staff. Friendly, attentive, and passionate about what they do, they elevate your dining experience to a whole new level.
Whether you're a burger aficionado or just looking for a great meal, Almost Famous is the place to be. Trust me; you won't be disappointed.
Quick and friendly service, was quiet when we went as just opened for lunch on a Monday.
Food was really nice and came out quickly (not too quickly to make you wonder if they were cooked or warmed up)
Losing a star for the stealth service charge on the receipt which I spotted later on, could be wrong but I didn't spot anything on the menu about a service charge being added to the bill. Optional tip would be better.
The food was absolutely delicious. Had the awesome HQ burger. Good portion sizes. Will definitely be eating here again. The burgers were 50% off through January but even if they weren't on offer I'd quite happily pay full price. Couldn't fault it
Bangers! So damn delicious!!
One of the best burgers I have had in Manchester.
Even after delivery the food was still hot and the waffle fries were still crispy!
The second burger (pulled pork i think) was a little too saucy, i would just order the pulled pork waffle fries and get another burger next time. The wings had a kick and goes well with the meal.
Visiting when they had the half-term offer on which is a really great offer. We all really enjoyed our food and the service was friendly.
My friend and I visited a couple of weeks ago and honestly had THE BEST bottomless brunch!
The lady who served us (I think her name was Shannon), was so much fun! She was attentive, really had great conversation with her and she recommended some places for us to visit whilst we were in Manchester.
The drinks kept on flowing and the food was insanely good! The portions were massive and I really wished I could finish them all!
Literally 10/10 experience! Thank you!
Great menu options and great service. We had the Famous burger, Unabomber and Pizza fries which were all delicious. Thank you Sully for providing an amazing and friendly service, and making top food recommendations. Would recommend this restaurant for a fun and friendly atmosphere, and would definitely come again!
Guaranteed delight!
Nowhere better for burgers. Delicious messy food and superb service everytime. Now that I've had so many fantastic visits to their various branches I have a hard time choosing from their amazing menu!
I eventually settled on the Lucky's Chicken special. Superb crispy and tasty fried chicken thigh on 2 of their lovely juicy beef patties with mac & cheese which also had great flavour. Not quite as messy as the other burgers I've had but a top tier offering as usual.
To get my pulled pork fix I had the Pig & Waffle Fries. Almost a meal on their own, packed with meat and beautifully crisp fries.
Definitely my go to place. I know I'll always depart with a big grin and a full stomach!
Previous visit:
Went in to try the Festive special menu and it was top notch.
The 'Son of a Nutcracker' burger had amazing flavours from the sauces and beef patties. The fried chicken was crisp but moist inside and topped with tasty winter coleslaw. The sausage roll on top was a lovely addition too.
They could've been a bit more generous with the pig in the blanket though. It was definitely a piglet!
The staff were great and overall it was a brilliant visit.
If I could leave more than 5 stars for the service I would.
We (4 people) went to almost famous Friday 19th April for the bottomless brunch. We were surprised how quiet the place was so we didn’t have much hope. We were greeted by the server, who was so lovely, seated and told how the brunch works. We ordered our first drink and our 90 mins bottomless drinks started from then. The food arrived next and we could not believe the amount you got. We each got wings 8/10, various burgers which we all rated 9/10 and bacon fries 10/10. The drinks were constantly coming, not once did we have to call the server over for more drinks. Honestly the server was incredible, I can’t remember their name but we were booked in at 2pm so Almost Famous give this server a massive shout out from us.
We have been to Liverpool and Manchester restaurants now and can’t recommend them highly enough. I think the people of Manchester are sleeping in on this class spot. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Manchester.
Unglaublich leckere und interessante Burger. Preise eher wie in der Schweiz. Bedienung sehr nett. Empfehle ich sehr.

Incredibly tasty and interesting burgers. Prices more like in Switzerland. Service very nice. I highly recommend.
While the fries may have been a bit cold, the outstanding service provided by Maziar more than made up for it. His fantastic attitude and behavior exemplified first-class service, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. In a nutshell, it was a great overall experience.
Visiting Manchester and thought we’d give this place a try. The food and service was incredible. Dan was very welcoming and really informative when it came to the menu. Would 100% go again.
I usually go to the AF in Leeds so knew what to expect and it pretty much delivered on all counts, great food (although nothing like the social media promo shots), quirky decor and good service but verging on "indifferent" at times. Well worth a visit when there's an offer on but I'd go elsewhere for full price burgers or just avoid the disappointment of Phoenix Fries in future.
