Best pub in Manchester. Had the best New Year’s Eve ever spent with family and friends. Great food and attentive service even on a very busy New Years eve!. The place was bouncing and full of atmosphere. Top class band playing great music. Dance floor was full all night.
Have been on other occasions and never been disappointed. Would highly recommend if you’re in Manchester.
Great pub with excellent changing choice of cask beers. Good hearty food on the menu too and not expensive. The Sunday Roast is worth the visit on its own but I’d have some beer too!!
Very welcoming staff, Fantastic Service , Great value for money for a city centre pub best and biggest pub in Manchester. Consistent with the quality of the food.
We called in with our puppy Fergie yesterday lovely to see a dog friendly place . We had a lovely sharing manchester platter & a bottle wine . Staff friendly . Will be back .
“Great Service”, I would recommend the Wharf to anybody. Good food and drink and a great atmosphere! Waiters and Waitresses very efficient and lovely people..
Such a quaint place and my friend’s local! It was the first time that I visited on Friday and the staff could not do enough for us, charming and attentive service with a personality! The place by the fire was just what I needed after a long week to relax with an excellent wine and delicious snacks. It was too good not to return on Saturday after the Christmas market for us to share a bottle of Prosecco catching up on our lives, again a great atmosphere and warm welcome. I will be back (I’m Austrian so think Arnold!) thanks so much
Great service , outstanding food, staff really friendly, a really lovely pub x dog friendly too x highly recommend x
Best place I’ve been too in a long while, lovely food, excellent service and top staff 👍
Lovely food. Lovely staff. Lovely service. Lovely atmosphere and a very good time whilst there. A very good pub clearly run by very good management!!
Absolutely fantastic atmosphere. Outstanding staff and the best Sunday lunch ( apart from my mum's) I've had. Came from Preston and can't wait to return. Perfect family day xxx
Pulled pork wrap yummy salad fresh staff lovely nice place 2 relax xx happydayz
Tony was great!!
Thanks for a wonderful meal with family at the Wharf. Tony was a great wait and ensured we got the correct puddings.... Very important!
Ate here with a couple of friends on a weekday afternoon. Excellent food. I'm not quite sure why people are complaining about the limited menu - there were more than enough options for the three of us. There are traditional pub food options as well as other choices. Very reasonable prices for the quality and portion sizes.
The space is huge, with both upstairs, downstairs and outdoor seating, bright and pleasant. Highly recommended.
We were a group of eight celebrating friendships developed during our training many years ago.The Wharf is right in the middle of Manchester’s historic canal area, close to transport links, but away from the distractions of shopping and traffic. It was a delight to enjoy drinks before and after our meal in the open air by the canal. The food served would not look out of place in a gastro pub but without the pretention associated with some of them. There is ample space to eat,the dining areas have character, with the whole place never likely to be confused with one of the catering behemoths.
Location, location, location.. The perfect place to be on one of those rare sunny days in Manchester!
This traditional pub restaurant serving ales, wine and delicious food does well to keep their standards up and it shows in how popular they are.
Another thing that I love about Wharf is that you can choose a more relaxed pub setting downstairs or for those of you, like me, who like a sit down with service the restaurant section upstairs.
Its hard not to feel that there is nowhere better to be in the world than England in the summer and all the relaxed people sprawled out on the grass enjoying the sunshine around the pub added to the atmosphere for me.
*Recommendation: Definitely a wonderful stop for a truly English experience of dining and day drinking with a festive atmosphere.
Today me and my partner visited the wharf we spotted it while we were visiting Mosi and are so thankful we did what a beautiful place! Outside there is a massive seating Area over looking a canal with a very nice water feature in the middle of the seating area very peaceful, it was too cold to sit outside but I would of loved too, we went in doors and were greeted by a very nice man who chatted to us at the bar and recommended different drinks as there are so many to chose from. We chose a table to sit at downstairs because to go upstairs there was a lot of steps and we had our little boy with us in a pram (I never saw a lift). The atmosphere is very relaxed with nice calm music playing in the background, we also spotted old board games lying around that you could play and free newspapers to read, a very nice touch! We sat down and the waiter came to take our food order almost straight away I chose the beef Yorkshire pudding sandwich and my other half had pan fried venison the place wasn't busy and we only had to wait no more than 15 minutes which is brilliant when you have a hungry 1yr old with you! The food was very nice and came out piping hot all staff very friendly couldn't recommend the place more! We will definitely be returning!
Shame on me - after living in Manchester for 3 years I have never been to The Wharf till yesterday! I have been to its next door neighbor Dukes a zillion times but never decided to check out this beautiful pub by the canal.
Right next to the canal, boats and the pretty bridge stands this gorgeous pub. It has a massive outdoor seating area, whoever thought Dukes 92 was big needs to come here. Thankfully yesterday was a nice sunny day because its almost a crime to not sit here and sip on a chilled pint of beer and puffing an e-cig (yeah I am trying to quit smoking). My companions ordered for a British meat platter, Sea Food Platter, Cheese board and Steak - the food literally was the best pub food I have had in my entire life (no kidding). The portions were massive too and I pecked on every dish so I can confidently say I am going to go back there at least 4 times to have a full plate of each. Once it started to get a but chilly (its Manchester) we went in - Whoa it was BIG and when I say that I mean it. Spread across two floors and divided into several rooms which included a bar that looks like a study with a full wall of books, which I can imagine could be a great place to spend a whole afternoon! They also allow dogs to come in the bar which gives such an amazing homely feel to the pub (ahh I love puppies and doggies). The staff were also friendly and very lovely, the girl who was serving me added lime cordial in my drink instead of a lemon (that is what I asked for) and she was willing to replace the whole drink and make me a new one (of-course I did not let her I am not one of those horrible customers :p). This place is a bit pricey I have to say that but you know what its worth it because of the whole experience. The crowd here is mostly young corporates, I would imagine all the folks working around the area come here for dinner and drinks all the time and why wouldn't they?
Verdict : I can't wait to go back again on a nice sunny day in Manchester to sit by the canal and have a massive British Meal Platter! nom nom
An upscale, beautiful pub but without the upscale prices. Huge, rustic yet modern space indoors with a large outdoor patio overlooking the canals and development around them. Lovely area to walk around in the evening. Plenty of draft beer to choose from and several cask ale options. Menu is extensive with both traditional and seasonal options. I had a few truly delicious spring dishes. Service was friendly and attentive. A top notch modern pub!
We had an amazing Sunday roast paired with a divine sticky toffee pudding at the Wharf. The restaurant's inviting decor sets the stage for a delightful dining experience. Portions are generous, and the staff are warm and accommodating. Whether you're a roast aficionado or simply craving a hearty meal, this spot delivers on all fronts.
It was brilliant! I experienced great time in The Wharf!
I’m from Japan and I’ve been studying English in Manchester but I’m going back to Japan. This Sunday roast is my last time. I definitely think all staff members have amazing hospitality as well! It was very comfortable!
Thank you very much!
Highly recommend this as probably the best Sunday roast I’ve had in years. The portions are really good, I recommend the mixed beef, pork option. Great set of trimmings, really well cooked! The sticky toffee pudding Is outstanding as well, though the portion of ice cream it comes with could be a bit better to balance the warmth.
Lost a star for chucking in a 10% service charge under the assumption that’s what we want to pay. A service charge shouldn’t be indicated, assumed, suggested in any way. Good service earns a tip. Please stop this guilt tripping of customers, it’s unnecessary.
My colleagues and I visited The Wharf last night and would highly recommend you visit this delightful place. The food is lovely and the staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Just make sure if you park there that you input your registration into the machine inside and take a picture as proof as we did get a ticket and thankfully had it waived by producing a screenshot of the bank transaction.
Great food and fun atmosphere. Everything is A+ except the (men’s) bathroom. It’s like the patrons think the wall and floors have drains. Yuk!!! It smells and and you feel like you have to toss (or at least wash) your shoes afterwards.
Food: Had the Rosemary lamb pie, with a Guinness, was fantastic.
Service: The waitress was pleasant and nice but the other staff felt quite ignorant/ignoring.
Atmosphere: Very pleasant out side area and clean decore inside.

Great Spanish lunch
Visited today following recommendation from a friend. Decided to go with the Catalan tapas selection which they are doing as a special part of the menu for January.
Wow. It was excellent. Very tasty and authentic. The meat balls and prawn pil pil were fabulous. We also opted for the Padron Peppers and Calamari. All very tender and beautifully presented. See for yourself from photos attached.
They actually do 3 Tapas and a drink( including wine or Gin and Tonic) for £19.95… Unbelievable value.
Quality was outstanding.
Love the atmosphere, the pub itself is very spacious with two floors but still has that cosy/homely feel to it, it also has good outdoor seating too. Great pub grub, especially the steak pie, is excellent. The staff are friendly, and it's a bonus that it's dog-friendly. Highly recommend!
A lovely meal here. Great steak and beer well presented. Good menu and a good selection of drinks. Staff were really friendly and attentive. A very nice dining experience.
