This little gem is nicely hidden away from plain sight on a busy road no less! The small entrance is deceiving to the huge venue that it opens up to. The staff are friendly and approachable; the food is always amazingly tasty - I'm slowly getting through the menu! The venue also holds regular events such as flower shop or pudding club which caters to a wide range of customers. I've introduced many friends to this place and they've all loved the place.

Always our first stop off the train...Just missed the fantastic breakfast menu...So just opted for a couple of hot chocolates...Lovely staff and a welcome break from the atrocious weather outside...Would highly recommend Leaf whether you fancy a full meal or just a cuppa

Brilliant venue for my husbands 40th last week, the room looked amazing and the staff were very professional before and on the event. The food they prepared for the buffet was excellent, we mixed it up a little bit but nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to returning to sample the brunch menu which looked delicious!

Just had an Americano and Moroccan chicken sandwich. Coffee was lovely but the sandwich was soooo good. Chicken was chunky, tasty and flavoursome, but the bread was to die for. Thick but not to think, soft and tasty, really added to the sandwich. Look forward to popping back.

I booked an afternoon tea with my mum for her 60th at Leaf. They made everything so special with candles and balloons! I'm vegan too and my afternoon tea was amazing. I had a range of yummy sandwiches and cakes and even a vegan scone which is rare to come across! (It was still warm too!) The teas were fantastic. Out favourites were the cherry blossoms and champagne cassis! Thank you so much to all the staff that made it so special! We will definitely be coming back soon! X

Visited yesterday for breakfast and it was great. We've been to Leaf on Bold St in Liverpool and really like it there too. The place is big inside but the layout means the dining spaces are quite intimate. The food we had was spot on for a lazy Sunday breakfast and we're looking forward to going back, maybe for lunch or dinner next time.

An essential Sunday morning brunch spot. Tasteful decor and an amazing, welcoming energy are the first impressions I got as I entered leaf with my family. All the staff were lovely and responsive. The food was brilliant offering great selections for my meat eating family and my veggie self. I went for the sourdough with hummus/falafel/eggs/broccoli and was blown away from the tastes on the delicious crunchy bread. The tea selection is incredible and loved the baked apple. Definitely will be coming back and can't wait to show more people this place!

The veggie breakfast was amazing! Very filling and enjoyable. They also provided our preferred sauces- mayo/ketchup, etc. The freshly made hot chocolate had perfect sweetness and temperature. The staff was very kind and helpful as well. The cafe has an option of regular water or detox water as well. The only thing that bothered me was the bread served with the breakfast. It was extra toasted and almost as hard as a rock. Me and my friend couldn't even take a bite. Otherwise, as an experience, it was amazing!

This place is a lot bigger than it looks from the entrance. I've visited a few times for social lunches with friends, to work meetings, and even popped in for a solo lunch too. I found the staff to be really friendly each time. Good choice of food, we ordered the vegetarian mezze last time which was a filling treat. I just with you could order items from the breakfast menu after 12pm!

Pros: Relaxed atmosphere Friendly waitstaff good variety of breakfast choices great food great coffee mellow music Cons: none! * * * * * Full English Breakfast - perfectly poached eggs, good spread of variety * * * * * Eggs Royale - perfectly poached eggs, sweet roasted tomatoes to cut the richness, toasted but not hard muffins, rich hollandaise sauce with ample salmon. * * * * * Latte - wonderful flavour, foam so thick it held on to the spoon upside down! * * * * * Espresso - great flavour, not bitter at all

Maybe a bit too expensive but tea was great, a refill option or a bigger pot would've been nice however it isn't more much more expensive than tea at Nero for example. I had tomato and pepper soup it was really nice and came with bread so was a good portion for my lunch. I worked on my laptop, wifi was good and staff were friendly

I love this place. Amazing tea selection the staff are always lovely. I go here as often as I can (minimum of twice a month with work colleagues) The laid back young feel gives a pleasant change to the stuffiness of other tea shops in manchester and i love that its open till 8pm on certain days. As a non-alcohol drinker finding a place like this thats open till late is always a pleasant surprise. The food that I've tried is wonderful, it might seem a little pricey but the portions certainly mirror the cost. I haven't had a bad experience yet.

Had the cherry blossom tea and it was splendid! It's a bit pricey here but the teas seem to be of nice quality with fun blends to choose from. Bought a few tins of tea to take home with me as well. Hope to be back again next time I'm in Manchester!

Good! But not as good as Liverpool’s LEAF. This café is located in the city centre along Portland Street. As an expansion of the Liverpool branch, this LEAF is modern and roomy - There is a lot of seating available. I noticed there is a meeting room tucked away in a corner of the café which is nice, there was a copyright meeting being held on the day I came here. What I noticed at this LEAF branch is that there are a lot less teas available compared to the Liverpool branch on Bold Street. I ordered the lavender grey tea which wasn’t bad, it costed £2.55. I also ordered the egg and crumpets with smoked salmon. This was quite nice! Perfect poached eggs in my opinion but the portion seemed a bit small. Overall, I enjoyed the visit here and the food was good. It’s a shame that the tea menu is drastically smaller than the one in Liverpool. But LEAF on Portland Street is still worth the visit if you’re in Manchester.
