Great place by the canal in the sun
If its sunny the outdoor seating area is great to relax drinking beer by the canal. Good atmosphere The bar itself is nice, bright and spacious and has a good vibe
Food with taste and full of flavour. Its freshly made and cooked properly. The staff is courteous and nice. Loved the location. Highly recommended the place if around.
6 of us went for dinner, the host was very polite and managed the tables well, even though it was packed and the takes were running late, we got ours on time.
The waitress was very helpful with our menu choices (as the pictures show).
We had no problems at all and the food cane out surprisingly quick!
A+ for effort. Will go again.
I think tis is a must visit in Manchester. A fairly big pub/alfresco dining restaurant by the canal with loads of good food and good liquor as well! You will not be disappointed! :)
I think this is a nice place for good quality pub food. I have been many times and always happy. The staff are pleasant and food is good, nice setting too.
Part of cluster of listed old buildings in Castlefield this pub has a tad newer feign to it than your old grubby usuals. Menu is full of lovely bar food and some more hearty options for hungrier. Function rooms are handy for events or birthdays and outside area looks like it could be a treat in summer
Great restaurant. Lovely food, though the main course portions were a bit on the small side.
Fantastic drinks menu and lovely bar staff. There is the facility to order drinks from your table via your phone and a QR code, but it was quicker to go to the bar.
Will definitely go back. My my biggest issue was there isn't light outside. The cobbles are uneven, and it was slippery due to the weather - I would have liked to be able to see where I was going better.
We were here just for a coffee break so we didn’t try any dishes.
- the coffee was really bad. We had a flat white with regular milk and one with almond milk (because they don’t have any other milk alternative for lactose intolerants). Both were terrible, unfortunately. It tasted more like a latte so if you usually drink your coffee with just a little bit of coffee and a lot of milk, you may fancy this one.
+ however, I gave it 4 stars because the atmosphere was lovely! They play live music on Sunday afternoon and the band had a lovely voice!
+ the restaurant is very cosy and has a great position, right on the dock.
Quite charming overall! I would come back to listen to the band, but I wouldn’t have high hopes for a lunch/dinner here.
A large pub/restaurant situated in Castlefield next to the canal. Beautiful decor, very tasteful. Lots of inside and outside seating but on hot days expect to queue around 20 minutes to get served, however, there is a temporary bar outside which helps if you just want standard drinks. We arrived on a hot day and despite there being plenty of outside seating, it was packed, obviously the place to go. There was also a wedding on upstairs on the balcony. It's definitely a place to see and be seen. Prices, as you imagine, are higher than other pubs in Manchester
Went for a team Christmas do. 17 of us. Really well organised, orders were sorted and delivered quickly. Food was excellent. And a lovely setting.
Lovely place, especially on a warm day as there's plenty of seating outside next to the canal. Beautiful decor inside, very tasteful. The only problem is when we called on a hot day, it was packed as it seemed THE place to go, so it took about 20 minutes to get served despitethere being plenty of staff. It wasn't until we got outside that we noticed they had another temporary bar, pity the staff inside didn't mention this.
Had a lovely night the service was amazing from the girl who served us, who I tipped. Music was very loud but atmosphere was nice. Food had good timing and was gorgeous. :)
5 Star service from Jen! Chocolate orange cheesecake was sublime, would also recommend the malayan curry and beef lettuce cups
A friend and myself visited Mon 18th Feb. Good food, friendly, efficient service and staff.
We were a group of 3 and chose to sit out in the beer garden. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was a lovely setting. The food was very well made and drinks were quite reasonable.
4 of us (3 adults and a child) came here on a Sunday, after the Manchester marathon. The atmosphere was very good, the food was nice and some great beers to sample. Staff were friendly but we did have to prompt a few times for a dessert menu and the bill.
Would definitely return and sit outside when the sun was shining. A nice spot near Deansgate.
