Spent a lovely afternoon in hot and sunny Manchester with Peter (and a bit with Allen? Alan?) at the bar. It was delightful.

Myself, and my best mate, Dave, present a monthly ROCK nite in the top room at The Brit's. I honestly have to say that the management, and owners of this historic pub are absolutely brilliant. Lovely old pub, with loads of character, excellent beer, a really nice crowd of people. Quiet during the week, for a few beers and a chat, and busy at weekends. 5 stars ? I'll give it six ! Love it to bits.

Love the whiskey section and the staff! There was a dark haired girl called Stacey who served me last time I went and she couldn't do enough for our group

A truly amazing pub. Just down the street from The Peveril. Tons of history in here. Lots of unique drinking rooms. Front bar is isolated from the rest of the pub. There’s even a beer garden! Great draft and cask options and a lovely bar staff. Just can’t beat a place like this.

Excellent Manchester pub about 20 minutes walk from Piccadilly Station. Five cask beers on handpump when I last visited including a porter. There is also a selection of up to 360 whiskeys and bourbons. Lots of outdoor seating in the garden to the rear, some of it covered. The pub is a Grade II-listed 200-year-old multi-roomed hostelry listed on CAMRA’s National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. It is famous for its highly ornate interior, a terrazzo-tiled corridor floor, moulded ceiling, original 1930s urinals and the serving hatch through which people in the two rear rooms are served beer from the front bar. The moulded ceiling picked out in red and gold is another feature. The name comes from the pub's history as an army recruitment venue and murals depict the Peterloo Massacre which happened nearby.

Stalwart of a pub that’s obviously been going a lot longer than the 30ish years it’s been a part of my life and I dearly hope it’s here long after I’m gone! Great for small groups and a quiet pint on your own. It’s had ups and downs but the beers are handled better now than they have been recently, whisky (if that’s your thing is a real bonus), and the vibe is always great. Cosy fires when it’s cold and a useful beer garden when it’s not. I love it here .

Alan, the landlord, was very welcoming and passionate about his pub he had been running for 12 years! I hope he gets to run it for another 20 years! Keep pubs open and don't let big enterprises take over the minnows!!! X

Authentic old British pub. No music blasting out, you can actually have a conversation with your friends or the other patrons. Massive selection of whiskies and good selection of ales. Bar staff are really friendly and remember your order on your second and subsequent rounds. Decent beer garden as well.

Popped in for a couple of drinks last night and honestly amazed! I will 100% be coming back when I am next in Manchester. Lovely staff and great atmosphere! The beer was perfect, keep up the good work.

The greatest pub in the whole of Manchester. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and I’ll carry on until my last day. Whilst the beer garden and beer have changed over the years, the inside is basically the same as it’s ever been. A fantastic atmosphere, never any issues. A bastion of sanity in the madness of Manchester City centre.

Brilliant pub with a massive amount of history. Great range of cask beers. Sadly at risk because big business wants to throw the committed licensees out and mess with the place.
