Divine Star
An fabulous restaurant tucked away in the heart of Manchester. A great place to meet your friends, share traditional cheese fondue or a modern take on it with a vegan option also available. The service staff were friendly and very accommodating. The decor is a funky mix of rustic meets industrial. From metal water buckets/sinks to marble tables, gives it a charm all of its own.

We had an outstanding meal here. The Sunday Fondue Roast is absolutely delicious. With an excellent range of beers, and a fabulously decorated bar (very much in the style of a European beer bar) - this was a terrific experience on the whole.

A great atmosphere accompanied with great food. A good selection of beers and wine and the food was lovely. Walked away feeling full and the price is amazing for what you get. Would definitely go back and try the different fondues. They update the menus regularly as well so you will always get something a bit different.

Fondue and Belgian beer. What's not to like!?! Got the classic fondue with steak and wurst for £22 for 2 people and also tried the bitterballen. My partner got a flight of beers, 3x 1/3 pint of on tap Belgian beers, which gives you a chance to sample 3 different ones. And they're very different to their bottled counterparts. Will definitely go back!

Restaurant was quite small and seems to have a bit too many tables for the small space. Interior was rustic and feels like an old style mill/pub.
We had the christmas gravy fondue which was basically your christmas dinner dipped in a pot of gravy. Everything was quite nice, definitely enough food for everyone, only downside was the meat, couldve came out sliced rather than us struggling to cut it and in big chunks.
Chocolate dessert fondue was nice but if they had made the waffles a bit more bite size theb it wouldve been better.

Had a great time in Bock Bière, Food was superb (we had the Sunday Roast Beef Fondue) and a great selection of beers available. We walked in but would recommend booking as they seemed to be a book ahead place. Will definitely visit again.

Great venue, lovely staff, it's almost like being transported to Bruges.
The steak would've liked a tiny crack of rock salt, but I'm not rating it down because of that. Easily 5 stars.

Had Sunday lunch there yesterday with my wife. Being used to a traditional sunday roast piled on a plate, with big yorkshire puddings ... when the platter was served with all the food on and a fondue pot full of gravy.. loved it! Will be bringing family next time they in Manchester, a different Sunday roast experience which also tastes great!

If you love Belgian beers and food this is the place for you.
The cheese fondue itself worth the travel: the portion is HUGE and the steak to dip in the cheese is cooked to perfection. A fondue is around £22 but you can easily share it between 2-3 people and you won't leave the place feeling hungry. I tried the onion soup and the carbonade ( slow cooked stew) as well in other occasions but the cheese fondue in my opinion is the best dish they have.
Chips are really nice as well, I will personally recommend the spicy aioli dip to go with them.

We went to try the roast dinner fondue and it was amazingly good! They also have other good options in the menu plus a big selection of beers. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Definitely recommend this place.

Excellent place to visit. Wide range of beers and a nice food selection. Table service by friendly staff in a nice, tastefully decorated setting. Seating upstairs and downstairs. Probably the best selection of Belgian beer in Manchester.

Wow.. amazing food and great relaxing attentive from the team at Bock Bière ...I work as hospitality manager so very demanding when I go out.. . These guys deliver on every level.. our young lady server even took the time to wet our appetite for the 2020 dessert menu... we will be back

Lovely atmosphere and great staff. We started with the cheese fondue with cheese & gravy fries, which were all amazingly tasty. We, naturally, complemented this with the chocolate fondue, which was equally as delicious 💯

A fantastic array of specialist beers, incredible (vegan!) food, and lovely service and decor. One of my favourite places in Manchester!

Loved this! Great food, Amazing Bockstar Martinis and service was friendly. Atmosphere chilled, only missed out on the 5th star as our table was wobbling all over the place and a little too high for the bench seat I was sat on, made it awkward to fondue!!!
Franc Barz
Great big portions with amazing flavours menu us small but great. Cozy atmospheres and well priced

A hidden gem in the centre of Manchester. Some wonderful items on the menu - the Bitterballen are something very special. The beer battered fish was beautiful and their homemade chips were a hit with all of us. Beer selection is large and high quality too.

Came on a Christmas do after seeing the Sunday dinner fondue, the food didn’t disappoint. We had 3 courses and a glass of bubbly for £27. The food was all delicious, we didn’t have to wait long between courses really.. The staff were all really friendly and helpful! When the bill came it was fine we split it between us and all was good.. then another bill came to our table with a mandatory tip added that the manager apparently decided we had to pay as we were a large group (7 people. The website said 10 and over) It just felt a little under handed and greedy, we had planned on leaving a tip anyway but being told how much we had to pay was a bit rude! Just made the end of the evening a bit awkward, even the waitress was a bit uncomfortable about giving us a second bill not sure why they did it?!

I don't like giving bad reviews. But this is needed to be constructive and honest. What a shame. Arrived for a birthday meal on Sunday 5th Nov. Covers running at a 3rd full. Re-seated 3 times. Drinks and food ordered at same time. An hour and 10 minutes later still no main (we had the sharing roast fondue x 4 people). I asked the manager why it was taking so long. He said "why do you think it's taking so long? Why do you think that is ?!". Shocked at that response, surely he should be telling me why that is ?! No apology at all. Very rude and poor customer service which was actually a disgusting way to treat people. Ruined the meal. Blamed on 2 new staff members starting that evening. Food eventually came. Gravy good, meat good and Yorkshire pudding waffles good. Potatoes and parsnips RAW. Rock hard, could have killed somebody. Asked manager to try one! Clearly embarrassed at this now. He said that's really bad and did then say sorry. He offered more but given it had taken over an hour so far we didn't want to wait !! What a shame it was such a bad experience. I would not recommend this, apparently fully booked til Feb. If they continue like this they won't be open until Feb. Disappointed as the concept is such a good one, customer service and kitchen staff need some serious re-training. You can't mess up a new potato?! Sorry guys, not good enough. As we left it seemed most diners hadn't touched their potatoes either but some people don't speak up....

Amazing place! We've been a couple of times now for drinks and food and can't wait to go again. Fantastic quality food, great service and an amazing selection of drinks. We've had a run of bad luck with restaurants lately and this place has really restored my faith! Can't recommend it enough, keep up the good work!! :)

Went for the fondue roast dinner on recommendation and not disappointed in the slightest
Being keen on cooking and a self proclaimed foody was keen to try - Well presented when arrived and fun way of enjoying a meal for two
Be ideal attending on a first date as no way to be refined when sharing eating and dunking goodies into a cauldron of bubbling gravy
Fab way to see if he or she is the one for you by eating more or less of fave bits of dinner or more than their share !!
Veg was as described by other reviews firm crunchy but totally cooked, delicious and and how veg should to be presented - would suggest if wanting soggy veggies then ask to cook longer when ordering the food
Beef brisket was a good size for 2 to share and shredded easily
The gravy was the tastiest of all on offer
Waffles light and complimented rest of the meal
Staff very friendly and accommodating and not mithering in the slightest just made us aware that if we needed anything just ask
I may have missed the drink size of the draught beer but did appear to be around 1/2 pint measures so don’t expect a pint for your £4.50
Fantastic meal with 2 beers for £34 can’t go wrong
See you again soon 👍🏻

Great concept, very friendly staff, food good but meat a little gristly in middle, beer fondue was very tasty
Maia Ensor
Staff lovely, decor pretty cool and although the food was tasty and different, the portion size was way too small for two people (roast dinner fondue)
Jay Elliott
Amazing food and staff they couldn’t of been more helpful, and to go that extra mile for us in true northern style they even served me and the wife bread & butter with a bowl of gravy for dessert.

Amazing food, fantastic service, highly recommended... Can't wait to return... The gravy fondue was sooooooo tasty, they should sell it by the pint, the waffle Yorkshire pudding, beef & vegetables were cooked to perfection... Brilliant meal, thank you.
Jeni Snoddy
Absolutely brilliant place to eat. Had the Christmas Dinner Fondue which was delicious. Also the Christmas Pud Fondue, mince pie and fruit, and starter of Camembert with crudités. Very reasonably priced and we haven’t stopped talking about the meal since. Will definitely return. Thank you for the great service also.
