We had one of our friends recommend Richmond Tea Rooms and we where not disappointed. We had tea yesterday which was delicious and the cakes are to die for. In fact we enjoyed ourselves so much we went for breakfast today, which was equally delicious. You couldn't fault the staff they were professional and very welcoming. A great experience that we will be doing again very soon.
First visit, enjoyed the Queen afternoon tea with a group of friends. The staff were all lovely + looked after us well. The food was delicious and we just about manges to eat it all! The atmosphere and layout was beautiful, the only thing we could’ve done with was a fan as we were sat in the window. Would definitely recommend A*

We attended the Mat Hatters tea party on 20th July, excellent evening, everything presented beautifully, Mad hatter, Rabbit,Alice and Queen of hearts were brilliant as were all the bar staff, well done Richmond Tea Rooms!! Would highly recommend xx

Went for my birthday was served by a guy called Tom he was excellent and very helpful as I have egg allergies he recommended egg free afternoon tea which was suitable for me and made my experience excellent and stress free will be attending again highly recommend too anyone who's thinking of going couldn't fault

First time visit ..me and my husband both had afternoon tea .he had gentleman's afternoon tea which I thought was really good as he doesn't have a sweet tooth all the staff were very nice and friendly. Will definitely be going back

We visited Richmond Tea rooms for lunch yesterday before catching the train home, it's such a wonderful quirky tea rooms, the food is always excellent with big portions and the cake is to die for... if only we had one in Sheffield! Once again fabulous service from all the staff, we shall be back soon! :-)
One of my favourite places in Manchester, the highlight is the beautiful and eccentric decoration and the delicious, giant cakes!
It is the type of place that I would love to go as a child, it looks like a fantasy that came out of a XIXth-century book!
Best piece of cake I have had by far! We ordered a pot of china rose tea and a slice of Boston cream cake to share. Both were equally delicious. There was more than enough for two as the portions are very generous. The staff are super friendly and the setting is lovely - old, eccentric and laid back at the same time. It has a mad hatter's tea party theme to it, set in a beautiful old building. What else to say... We will definitely be coming back for lunch or a full afternoon tea!

Full of flavours and both crispy and smooth at the same time. This was my favourite part of the meal.
The staff are very friendly and professional, and seat you as you arrive. The food is both delicious and incredibly tempting, not just the counter of wonderful cakes and pastries which are prepared fresh each morning (and which would tempt even the staunchest dieter), but a good selection of both hot and cold meals, and daily specials. And of course, they offer delightful afternoon teas, complete with cute sandwiches, scones, and cakes, perfect for sharing with friends over a catch-up after shopping in the city.
We loved our trip to Richmond Tea Rooms and thought the food was very tasty, the staff were lovely despite being rushed off their feet and we loved all the little details like the ornate plates and lovely candle holders on the tables. We will definitely be going back to try some of the amazing looking cakes!
Richmond Tea Rooms is a crackers little oasis in the middle of a bustling city. Great lunch menu, even better cakes!
It has a lovely buzzing atmosphere and the décor is truly unique. We all really enjoyed our lunch there and would definitely return to try the pretty looking cakes.
Tucked away on Richmond Street, just near the bus station we found it. Through the doors, up the stairs, step through the heavy velvet curtains and welcome to the tea party. There’s cakes aplenty, a huge tea urn, those crocheted table cloths that you just don’t see anymore (‘cept round my aunties) and plenty of Alice in Wonderland/Mad Hatter references.
Been here a couple of times, great atmosphere with the most intricate furnishings creating the perfect afternoon tea ambience.
There is so much to observe whilst you are sitting that you will never be short of conversation!
Menu is fantastic ranging from light to heavy lunches. Variety is perfect and there is an option to suit everyone's palate :)

Happy New Year!!! It’s 2024, finally right?
A chance to finally visit Richmond Tea Rooms with my friend came up and I finally crossed it off my “restaurant bucket list”. I am sure I’m not the only one who has one.
This was the last place I had on my list for 2023 and I am grateful I was able to go. The perfect way to end 2023.
We went for brunch date, ran really late and I was so thankful that the staff still accommodated us! Honestly one of my favourite part was the overall customer service 10/10.
We had the American style pancakes from the breakfast menu with teas for drinks. Perfect combo! I loved that we each had our own colourful teapots and I was tempted to grab a set for myself actually- they stock some in store. Alongside a large range of teas including some unique special blends.
Honestly the pancakes were delicious. I opted for the more savoury option and took my time to make sure I enjoyed every bite. I 100% recommend it!!
I also ordered the smashed avocado on toast and opted for scrambled eggs instead. I later had to ask for a takeout pack as I was too full from the pancakes. I had it later on at home and enjoyed it too.
The restaurant also does the prettiest afternoon teas- I am definitely going to make the time for another trip this year just for that. The ambience has the most beauty whimsical feel to it. I felt like Alice in the wonderland and trust me the pictures are nothing compared to the original.
In all, if you are looking for a magical escape in the city with amazing treats, creative drinks and tasty meals especially the afternoon tea… make that booking to Richmond Tea Rooms!

All their afternoon teas, except for the tweedles, can be requested vegan. We had the hatters and the queens: great portions and tasty food, especially the vegan scone. It is a bit too pricey but it is perfect for a special occasion. Nice staff and lovely atmosphere.
I planned for a cute afternoon tea with my daughter and we got what we wanted and more! The staff are so lovely and welcoming/caring! Our server was amazing and I feel awful because I can’t remember their name!!
The food was insanely delicious and I can’t stop thinking about my next visit because those scones were the best I’ve ever eaten!
