Amazing value lunch
Came here day after a wedding with family, there we're 23 of us plus others in the restaurant, the waitress was extremely busy but we all got our food quickly with no problems. The lunch menu at 9.95 is amazing value with a starter and main course. The hummus was delicious, lovely and smooth and served with warm pitta. I had beyti for main, which is grilled fillet of lamb with rice and salad. Portions were good size and very filling.
Worth finding this place if you're in Manchester.
Topkapi Palace is a Turkish restaurant some 10 minutes walk from Oxford Road Station, 5 minutes from Deansgate Train/Tram stations.
Prices change over the day, early eaters, up to 17:00 can enjoy a 3 course for meal for 2 with a small wine for under £40 (Sept 2018)/
The inside is welcoming and comfortable with excellent staff who attend to you with quiet efficiency that makes you feel that, despite all the other diners, you are the special ones.
We had Yaprak Surma and Sucuk starters, Et Sote and a Garlic Grilled chicken (cannot recall name). These were well cooked, well presented and delicious. We also had 2 desserts and coffees, overall great value for money. (Even after 5 and meals are more expensive they still represent excellent value.)
An ideal place to go pre theatre.
100% recommend this place as it have never failed to deliver good food and service. Book for meals after 18:00 to avoid disappointment.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Quality of ingredients was lovely. Food was cooked fresh. Took a bit longer for the mains but every minute worth the wait. In fact, when it takes a while, one knows it is food being cooked fresh.
The high point was not just the food but the lovely people managing the place.
My daughter and I were chatting about a song being played in the restaurant and we were trying to find out on Sound Hound. The lady next to us overheard us and to our pleasant surprise, came over and shared the details. It shows how engaged the staff is and how they take care of every fine detail. The portions are large.
Living in the area we spend many weekends in Manchester, and have experienced good and many bad meals. This place is a hidden gem. Excellent service, the friendliest of staff, and consistently fresh well cooked meals. You have to give it a go if you have never been!
Good Turkish food..good service..weekends are busy..weekdays you may be the only guest
Went for a late lunch. We ordered a set lunch.
I went for chicken breast with walnut sauce as starter which was little bland for my taste as it was less spicy, but it was a good dish overall. It went well with garlic bread.
Main dish was topkapi lamb, which is a lamb Kebab with rice and salad. Very good dish with good flavors.
Turkish delight was given as a complimentary dessert, which is a very unique in taste.
Ambience of the restaurant is a bit lacking.
We were here on a wet Wednesday night at 6.30pm .just us 3 and another couple , the chef having a snack at the pass , the mini meze, meatballs and borek starters came quickly, tasty and hot!! We followed with sea bass, swordfish and chicken mains. All were really tasty fresh and presented immaculately. Brought back memories of our times in Turkey. The restaurant is immaculate. The waiting staff were really friendly to us and judging by the banter between them , enjoyed working together. No fear of recommending this place

Walked in for a late dinner to be greeted by the staff who were so kind and polite. Got the stuffed vine leaves starter and the mixed grill with rice plus the Turkish drink Ayran. Excellent service with a smile throughout, staff always checking up and bringing anything you needed. Prompt service with the starters and main, wonderful and authentic food with really good value for money when you consider the quality and the location.
If you’re craving Turkish food in Manchester you can’t go wrong here, the food AND the staff are both top notch. Highly recommended.
After a little shopping in Manchester, we decided to have a late lunch on a Friday afternoon.
After walking around and looking at different restaurants, we came across the Topkapi Palace.
A lunch menu that is served from 11:30 till 4pm consisting of a starter and main course for £13.95 per person seemed a very good choice.
On entering the restaurant, there were a few people dining. We were met by a very nice, friendly waitress who gave us the option to sit wherever we wanted to.
After we had settled at our table, we were given the drinks and food menus.
We ordered a bottle of Cal Y Canto Tempranillo Merlot, Syrah (£19.95) to complement our starters of Cerkez Tavgu and Mitre Kofte. For our mains, we both opted for the Vegeterian Mussaka.
All starters are served with Pita Bread.
Mitre Kofte was four large, very tasty meetballs in a homemade sauce. The Cerkez Tavugu, which is shredded chicken blended with creamy mayo, was the star of the starters. We both would have this starter again.
Our Mussakas came with rice and a side salad and was absolutely delicious.
Apart from being delicious food, we both were impressed with the portion sizes, so much so we had no room left for a dessert.
When the waitress brought the bill, it was accompanied by two hot towels and two lemon sweets.
There are two bathrooms that are located downstairs, so for people with mobility issues, it might be a little awkward. On a positive note, both bathrooms were very clean and tidy.
Great service, great food, and in our opinion, it is well worth a visit.
We had a lovely meal. The service was amazing and the portions were massive. The chilli sauce spiced up our meal and the wine was good value. Thank you 🙏
Enjoyed the food and the staff were nice. It was quiet as went in the afternoon. The lunch time deal was very good value.
I visited this restaurant last week prior to going to the theatre. It is on the main road and is an authentic Turkish restaurant with very helpful and welcoming staff. Food was fantastic, will be visiting again when next in Manchester.
Great small restaurant for a nice cosy dinner. They do amazing Turkish grill at affordable prices. Their mixed grill is worth a try! Will definitely keep you stuffed for 2 days!
I have been coming here for decades and the food, service and atmosphere have always been great. After my last visit the only thing I have to say is that the mixed mezi for two was not upto its usual standards. You usually get at least 3/4 dips vine leaves and meatballs which were all missing this time and with just one dip of hummus didn’t justify the price of £17.95. The mains were spot on as usual.
Truly exceptional halal Turkish cuisine!
A great place for friends, lovely warm and inviting family atmosphere and a delightful selection of cold or hot starters and wonderful mixed platter mains as well as halal Mojito options.
The variety of meats, sauces, garnishes and vegan options was impeccable.
Such good food, many good vegetarian and meat options, the veggie cold meze is lovely and the meat meze super tasty
The mains are perfectly sized, the lamb (adana kebab) is cooked to perfection with the flavours seeping throughout the dish, the grilled chicken (pilic kebab) had the perfect charred flavour.
The wait staff is so amazing and friendly, she was happy to explain any dish and suggest dishes as well
Would definitely recommend if you want an authentic flavour
A modern yet classic Turkish restaurant in the middle of the city, with a genteel atmosphere. The menu was wide ranging, reasonably priced, and the food was fast in coming and served well. Everything on the menu was Halal, which was important to my group on this occasion. The service was friendly and helpful (willing to explain things) and very attentive. Access to washroom and toilet facilities was down steps in a basement so not accessible to people with limited mobility. The restaurant wasn't busy on a Sunday evening, but a steady flow of people (including children - it's very child friendly) who were obvious re-visitors confirmed its local popularity.
This is a great Turkish place in Manchester Deansgate. The food was amazing, tasty and tasted fresh. I've been to few Turkish places and food was bland but this place was the total opposite of bland... Delicious food and for less than £12 you can't complain. Will definitely visit again.
We went on friday, without reservation but staff was still super nice & accomodating. The place looks great and very relaxing, I absolutely adore the Turkish music.
Food was lovely and in great portion, well worth the price. My favourite has to be the cold mezze and lamb moussaka. Between 2 very, very hungry people we spent about 30 each, but that's with drinks and we really had to roll ourselves out!
All in all it's a great place. I definitely recommend & will surely visit again.
Visited here for the first time to celebrate Mother's Day and we left being full and happy. We ordered their 2-course lunch menu at £11.95. We had Falafels, Spinach Borek and Feta Cheese Borek, Adana Kebab and Topkapi Special. I can't say whether these are authentic Turkish flavours but they were tasty and we enjoyed them. Portion was generous too.
The service and atmosphere were great. The restaurant was quickly filled up which is a good sign of their popularity. We'll definitely return for lunch very soon.
First time visiting here , with a date.
Nice and easy to get to located on Deansgate.
Staff were friendly and accommodating, service was quick.
Food was amazing would definitely come again.
The food was very good! But marking down one star because the salads had too much parsley all over it for us and the bread was quite unimpressive, it was
not like Turkish bread I’ve had before, but just like a warm pitta…
