Food was 95% perfect being the seaweed salad having a very peculiar chlorine taste. The atmosphere only held 4 stars as the entire place smelt of bleach. I get it. Its clean throughout but the smell is not pleasant throughout the entire eatery and the entire time. The rest of the food could almost be outweighed and the service impeccable to say the least as the servers were all attentive, quick and meticulous. Would still definitely go again in future.

Great selection of sushi and other dishes, some were on our taste some not. But it's fine, we still liked the place and will come back. Service was excellent, all waiters were very nice and accommodating. Loved the decor aswell.

A pretty decent food experience, not the most faithful of Japanese food but it was tasty never the less, somethings on the menu that were a big surprise, a welcome one. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, every interaction was met with smiles and as much help as could be provided. The service was fast but it didn't impact the quality of the food, portion size Vs price was a little off, you are paying extra for it being Japanese food and the rolls themselves look small for the amount paid, this doesn't take away from the fact that it was tasty though. If you haven't had any or had very little Japanese food, this place is ideal as it's a good entry point.

I've been coming here since 2017 before visiting Japan. I wanted to experience Japanese food before visiting the country. We did some research and found this restaurant in Manchester about 35 miles away from us. I just can't say enough about the staff. Ever since our first visit they've been so kind and friendly. Were on first name terms and they often ask how we're doing when we post on Facebook. The service is the best I've enjoyed in Manchester. The food is authentic to the Japanese recipe and having visited Tokyo, the Tonkotsu Pork Ramen always makes me think of Japan. It tastes exactly as it should and authentic. The quality of the food is incredibly high as if the standard of the restaurant in general. I've never had a complaint in six years and I've have so many good memories. My little boy loves every visit and he's made friends with so many people here. I don't often eat out, especially with the cost of living going up. But when I can, I'll happy make the trip to come back, no questions asked. Especially when it's your birthday and they remembered and surprise you with a nice iced cream! ❤️❤️

My first review in a while and I am so excited to be writing about my experience at Samsi Manchester. My friend and I came here for our girls weekend brunch and it was better than our expectations too!! Alright so we had one of the 10 piece platters- Sushi, Sashimi, Norimaki 🍣 to start with alongside a warmed bottle of sake 🍶 ☺️to share of course! We could taste the freshness of the sushi and cravings were happily satisfied. From the main menu we decided to go down the path of Donburi! As we had both been craving this particular dish for the longest time. Choosing the Katsudon and Unadon which tasted 10/10… alongside stir fryed udon( s/o to the chef for making this variation for us ❤️) just amazing also came with miso soup which we had after the meal. Of course!!Dessert, cheesecake(New York cheesecake on the menu)at a Japanese restaurant umm? Yes please!!! Also 10/10 Overall, beautiful interior- it really takes you to another world intimately and having the chance to enjoy authentic Japanese in all its entity. One of my best food memories for sure. Be sure to check them out, perfect settings for date nights, weekend brunch! They also offer large bookings for celebrations as well!! I 100% recommend Samsi, and will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. The customer service was also 10/10 which is really important! Also if you live around the area, you can place an order for your slice of authentic Japanese and have it delivered too!! Convenient, perfect for homeboys and takeaway evenings 💗

Very good Japanese restaurant and good value for money. Perfect miso soup. Good house sake. I had a ribeeye teriyaki which was really nice. I would have used a less fatty cut though. We had a katsu chicken which was really good and light. I was a little diaspointed by the prawn tempura, which was a little too doughy. Very friendly and will definitely come again.

This is the best sushi I’ve had in my seven years in the U.K. Unfortunately for us, it’s a 3 hour drive, but if you’re ever in the area and you like Japanese cuisine, this place is a must! The atmosphere is great and the layout, decor really add to the experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful and all the food was delicious. At the end they got busy and it took so long to get the desert menu we ended up skipping it, but that’s pretty common over here. It didn’t take away from the great food and experience. Highly recommend!

I went to Samsi with my friend Yvonne. I can't comment on the atmosphere because it was very quiet when we were there. It was about 4.45 on a Thursday. We both had the vegetarian Gyoza to start with and then we had the Salmon with boiled rice and both courses were delicious. The staff were friendly and made us very welcome and the service was excellent. We will definitely go again and would highly recommend Samsi.

Lovely food. My first time to a Japanese restaurant. The food was great. We went for a platter of different items. The only strange thing was the green tea flavoured ice cream for dessert. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

I went here last month just before my train as it’s close to Picadilly Station and had a suitcase, the hostess took it for me to store during my meal which was so so thoughtful! The food came quickly and tasted delicious - I also tried some of the chicken yakisoba noodles and they were amazing. The customer service was absolutely lovely and the portion sizes were good :) The actual restaurant itself was so pretty and clean, I cannot stress enough how much I recommend Samsi for a meal

Today I'm wondering about eating bento 🍱 at lunch time. I just searching on Google map and occasionally find this Japanese restaurant. They have both menu for bento 🍱 and ramen 🍜. But they showed me a special menu only for bento. There are two sections of bento menu which first part is 13£ you can choose three flavors and the second part is around 16£ you have more choices meaning you can select. I ordered the chicken katsu curry one. The difference is, there's sushi 🍣 first as a starter which I haven't expected for. The taste with wasabi and soy sauce is authentic and high quality. The second starter is the Miso soup. I also can't wait to drink something so I ordered pineapple 🍍 juice. Finally the bento 🍱 box coming. A piece of Aubergine, green pepper mushroom is fried on the side. The traditional Japanese curry made from carrots and potatoes and fried katsu chicken. There's also two pieces of cucumber 🥒 on side to fresh your taste. When you finally finished, you definitely have a feeling like being in Japan in real. The total experience is splendid and fantastic.
