The food is great for the price - I recommend the hanging kebab in particular. Friendly staff even when its absolutely packed out, and the landlord Danny is great at handling any suspect clientele & diffusing any situations. I'd 100% recommend this place for a friendly place to grab a bite to eat in town.

Wonderful choice of award winning Holts bitter. Went on my birthday to sample food and drink. We were not disappointed. Fabulous food and service from the staff was wonderful. Will go again without doubt. Chilled for a pint on your own at whatever time of day as well as a cheeky lunchtime wine with your food. Great place. Enjoy!

Nice traditionally modern Joseph Holts pub round the back of Harvey Nic's next to The Wellington and Sinclair's Oyster Bar. Seating outside at the front for sunny days.

Nice traditional but modern Joseph Holts pub round the back of Harvey Nic's next to The Wellington and Sinclair's Oyster Bar. Seating outside at the front for sunny days. I had the salted caramel sunde and I was disappointed 😞 basically it was a scoop of salted caramel and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a blob of cream ontop with the smallest chocolate flake I've ever seen and a bit of chocolate sauce but it was presented very nicely.

The place is lovely. I used to go there a lot a few years ago, then went away so stopped. I went back today for a pizza because theirs are crunchy. The chef was adorable and we improvised that pizza I wanted for a takeaway (picture), totally yummy. The whole staff there is extremely nice and have always been. The decor is lovely but with all the tables occupied not exactly possible to take pictures. Always spotlessly clean, too.

Great pub doing a fantastic pub grub menu. Clean, cosy not too loud and great portions at very fair prices.

I went yesterday, it was very busy and food wasn't that bad. nachos are nice, the kebabs are nice however letting the oil and grease run onto the chips is wrong. salads are dosed in dressing and do taste nice. this place has certainly improved since the last visit.

Brilliant afternoon. Very busy but managed to find a great corner. Lovely fresh food, great doubles bar and house wines. Definitely recommend. Excellent staff who made us very welcome despite being rushed off their feet with the Xmas rush

I had the mixed grill and it was very good. Other than the fried egg being hard the rest was good. For a pub meal it was better than I was expecting and the choice of drinks were good with a very good price. I am sure that I will have to come back here again to try something else off the menu. On another plus point I was a refreshing change to have a chef using oepoer on the fried egg and other items. Will done.

So good food stuff here and a wide menu choices range to have at most times of day, a good spot next to the tram and not too far away from the trains and buses too. Looking forward to another trip to have another purchase of food and drink again soon.

A Tranquil Culinary Retreat: Crown & Anchor Experience Choosing Crown & Anchor for lunch was a delightful decision for multiple reasons. Firstly, the serene location provided a welcome escape from the crowds, offering a peaceful dining atmosphere just a few feet away. Opting to sit outside was a pleasant touch, allowing me to enjoy the moment amidst a calm setting. The diverse menu caught my attention, offering enticing options that aligned with my dietary preferences, promising not just sustenance but an enjoyable culinary experience. Ordering at the counter streamlined the process, and the attentive staff made the entire experience seamless. The standout dish was the steak πŸ₯© kabob with vegetables – expertly prepared and a burst of flavors that left a lasting impression. Accompanied by fries that struck the perfect balance of softness and crispiness, they were notably devoid of excess grease, making the meal thoroughly satisfying. πŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ«Ά Crown & Anchor's combination of tranquil ambiance, friendly service, and delicious cuisine makes it a top choice for those seeking a moment of culinary bliss away from the urban hustle.

Spot on pub. They sell their own brew ales, which are great. Loads of screens for the sport, and the staff are super friendly.
