Love this place, Never had a bad visit! We had a deal with our taste card, I had the breaded Brie to start and then the roast beef Sunday dinner with a side of mash. This was all very filling and very tasty. I washed it down with a cocktail (2 for £10 on Sunday) and a glass of the wine which they allowed me to taste first. Fantastic service and food, Can't wait to visit again!
had afternoon tea. it was excellent. lovely surroundings. staff were really friendly. the food was really nice. presented really well. cocktails were lovely with plenty of choice. we had pre booked as it was a hen do and they had dressed the table with balloons really nice of them.Thank you
We spent the day in Manchester shopping, and round about dinner time we found ourselves feeling a little peckish.
As we were down near St Anne's church we came across Annies Café and Restaurant, and decided to call in for a bite to eat.
We decided to sit in the café (the restaurant is downstairs). The place was clean and tidy and the chairs were very comfortable.
We ordered a sandwich each. My wife ordered a pot of Earl Grey Tea, while I ordered a Cup of Latte. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh and the bread was delicious. The sandwiches were accompanied with a salad garnish and some crisps. The sandwiches had plenty of filling in them and with the garnish and crisps we both felt reasonably fed.
My wife made 3 cups of tea with her pot of Earl Grey, while I had 2 cups of Latte. The bill came to £20.80p which we thought was very reasonable. It certainly compares well with Costa, where 2 cups of tea and two cups of Latte would have cost at least £12.
My wife tells me that the Ladies toilets were exquisite, with top grade toiletries and moisturisers being available, and little towels to dry your hands on.
My wife ALWAYS judges a place based on the condition and state of the toilets, as well as the food and service, so she gives Annies 10 out of 10.
The young waitress was very pleasant and helpful too.
We will definitely call into Annies again when we are next in Manchester.
My Steak & Ale Pie arrived. More homely fayre – my mum’s is better but I’ve had worse. They’re not going to win any awards here for food but it was on a par with a good average pub.
Good quality food and friendly service, a pleasurable dining environment and an experience to be repeated

Cute lounge feel type of restaurant. The service was impeccable. It was a bit difficult to find due to the bad lighting in the area. The decor feels dated, especially the carpet and vines hanging from the ceiling - gives off major 80s vibes but I suppose it’s targeted to what they believe a crowd of theatre goers are.
I had the rib eye steak and - i probably should have stuck to the golden rule of “if you want medium ask for medium rare, if you went well done ask for medium, etc” however they were quick to rectify this and I was happy with that!
The drinks are lovely and over all I didn’t feel rushed by the staff. Everyone was doing their own thing and you could grab the waiter’s attention at any time. I would certainly return to this place with a friend for some tea/ coffee just to get away from the rustle and bustle of Manchester.
We love Annie’s. We have been a few times now and it has such a lovely, cozy feel to it, especially lovely at Christmas time. Afternoon Tea was good. Staff always friendly and service great. Planning another visit soon with the kids.
Food tasted amazing, and was very aesthetically pleasing.
Personnel was very kind, and we were served in a timely fashion.
Lovely atmosphere. Lights, plants, art and some stories decorate the place nicely.
Fantastic place for afternoon tea! My friend and I came here for the first time, and had a great experience. The service was incredibly friendly, albeit a little slow, and everything was so tasty! They had a vegetarian option for the afternoon tea, but make sure to book in advance if you want a vegan version.
I cant believe I've not heard of this place before! The atmosphere was lovely from the get go. We started off having a nice drink whilst choosing our food. The cocktails were lovely and the menu had plenty of delicious choices to choose from.
The toilets were very clean.
All the food was amazing and everything was devoured. The staff service was impeccable and the whole evening was one to remeber for all the right reasons.
Will definitely be recommending.
Visited here with a friend worked our way through the cocktail list :) we had afternoon tea food was great, although the sandwiches seemed like they'd been out a little while as they were a dry, however the time before we came the sandwiches were lovely and soft. Would recommend and will return again soon. Its a lovely little place ;)
I visited Annie's back in 2013 when I traveled solo to the UK from Canada. The host was so warm and welcoming. Was hoping to meet Miss. McAlpine (one of the owners) but she wasn't in that day though, I did have the pleasure of meeting her lovely husband, Chris. The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was elegant. The night I was there, we were treated to live entertainment from a Singing Pianist. I'm going back to Manchester in November, 2024 and I will most certainly be stopping in at Annie's for dinner whilst I'm there.
Love Annie’s, it’s one of our favourite places however we are gutted that the fillet steak has been removed from the menu! It is one of the main reasons we return to Annie’s regularly! Such a shame.
this was so great, me and my boyfriend walked in for breakfast and were greeted by such a friendly waiter, the restaurant is super cosy and the staff all looked like they enjoyed doing their job, the drinks came fast and the food was reasonably priced, and good quality!! We will definitely come again
We went here before a concert. The food was so food and reasonably priced. Me and my fiancé got the skewers with steak, prawns and chicken. It came with chips, tomatoes, mushrooms, Peppers and onions then we got peppercorn sauce. The photos don't do it justice. K also had some cocktails. Service was really good, staff are really friendly. Would highly recommend and I will definitely go again.
