If you’ve never been to Lebanon
The food here is pretty close to the original but somewhat akin to trying to make fish n chips from the chippy at home, it’s never going to happen.
If you’re craving your mamas food this is definitely the place to go. Shish tawouk is TOO GOOD and the bamya tastes like it came straight from the middle east. The food is really really yummy!
a review needs to focus on the food first and price afterwards. The cold mezze was great but the mains lacked some intensity of flavour that one might expect. so the overall rating is a three.
The ongoing buffet is fairly priced (£17.00) and have a good spread. I wouldn't say its very lebanony, but overall good food. The chicken kebabs and the lamb dishes were good. The chicken swarma waa delicious. The rice and other rice based food items could have been better though. And there could also be some breads added to the spread. But overall worth the mobey for a group lunch.
Wanted to try something different from curries and Chinese went in and asked what the waiter recommended as I didn't know what I was ordering he gave us a top explanation of what was what and went with his suggestion was not disappointed great lamb dish and one of chicken in a tomatoe and local spice ,absolutely gorgeous ,my wife loved it as it was her birthday treat ,definatly going back soon with the kids next time ,staff, food ,ambiance and price could not fault
More up-market Lebanese eatery. For anyone who enjoys Lebanese food and for those who might want to try it for the first time I would recommend Beirut Restaurant. The decor is contemporary and the menu offers a wide range of Lebanese favourites plus a few more. I still frequent the other Middle Eastern cafe-style eateries in Rusholme but if you want somewhere a bit more up-market where the food is just as delicious, and only a touch more expensive, try Beirut. Last time I was there (November 09), they had a weekend buffet deal( dips/salads/breads plus a choice of about 3 mains) for about £10.00.
Really great food. Comfortable seating. Quite a large restaurant. The toilets were upstairs, and not the cleanest. So please keep this in mind. A buffet was advertised, but was unavailable on that day.
Fabulous food. Tried 2 different vegetarian main course in 2 visits. Loved the taste and their flexibility of making the food in the way you like while maintaining originality. Fried Hallomi is awesome. Great customer service by staff and Owner himself. Will visit again without any doubt. A must visit in Curry Mile. You will miss a different taste otherwise.
First time in this lovely restaurant with family. The waitresses were so lovely and the food was super.
We will be back.
Thank you so much
Truly delicious & a feeling of The UAE. I had Mint tea, Hummus, Lamb sticks, Meat rolls & Kebabs were amazing & hot.
Friendly and welcoming staff, food was amazingly nice. Tried the mansaf was really nice. This place is huge with parking at the back is a bonus and they even do buffet which we hope to go next time.
A nice, family restaurant that produces normal Lebanese food. Nothing out of the ordinary but it was an enjoyable experience nonetheless and service was very good. It’s suitable for all the family - kids too - as there’s no alcohol and no shisha. The mezze selection was quite nice but I feel overpriced at £20 for the smallest plate and contains only the basic items (hummus, baba ghanoush, mutabbel, tabbouleh, wara inab, felafel and the strangest muhammara I’ve tasted in quite some time.) Personally I didn’t like the look of the buffet (all hot items with a lot of meat and no mezze selection) so I ordered a la carte instead. Buffet was £12.99 for adults, £6.99 for kids 5-10 I think and free for under 5’s. I’d definitely return but don’t expect anything really amazing here.
I have been there to break the fast and I have just felt in love with this place ! The name has changed though it is Jafra now.
Every member of the staff are adorable and were on point even considering the fact that it was extremely busy.
It was a nice buffet and the food was really nice.
Very surprisely, It is the only one place in Manchester I found that one treat that I was craving for (without having to make it myself as it takes time lol) ! Only north african (Algerian more precisely eat during this time of the year. If we don't have that treat ramadan doesn't feel the same ☺️🤣 )
Hats down and I will definitely come back (you won't get rid of me now lol)
The couscous (Vege) tagine and chicken Sharwma were good! Although I was hoping the Vege tagine was served in a tagine... Price wise, it can be quite pricey for students depending on what you order. The portion is filling for the price you pay.
Nice place. Good waiters service. Quick service. A little bit expensive for a student. I liked that you have the option to order a meal with or without chicken/meat. The food is good. I ordered Mlokheyye and was satisfied with it but won't ask for it again. Portions should be bigger.
Very clean the food was so delicious and the Prices are reasonable i would like to go again
Nice restaurant and good service ,It has different tasty eastern dishes to offer
Great design and good aroma of food that sell seekh kebabs
Lovely, friendly service. Went with my friend and her two (very young) kids and you can imagine it was a messy ordeal but the staff made us feel welcomed and reassured us that the mess was fine! The buffet was good but I was a little disappointed with some of the European dishes when I wanted to go all out middle Eastern. That's pretty much the only reason is not got five stars.
Staff who are always willing to help and some very delicious food. Went for an open buffet with a large group of us. The restaurant dealt with a lot of people effectively billing up. The food was full of flavour and freshly cooked. The desserts lacked authenticity for a Beirut restaurant. As in they didn't really taste like the traditional dish. However this may be due to regional differences.
I had a very good time at Beirut, I was impressed with the quality of the food and the service. The staff are friendly and engaging, and the food is hot and tasty. It's also surprisingly filling, and they have some menu items I had not seen before.
Definitely worth a stop on the Curry Mile
Been a few times, buffet at weekends is great. Good selection of middle eastern foods, mezze dishes are great. Large venue, happy to take big group bookings. Excellent service. Only major downside for me is that they don't serve alcohol.
Really lovely very reasonably priced shawarma, friendly waiting staff. Was lunchtime and reasonably busy. Fantastic Turkish coffee as nice as my favourite (but temporarily closed) restaurant the falafel. We didn't get our ordered water but otherwise it was faultless.
