Great Service Great Food
We went for my brothers’s birthday as he loves this restaurant, and I wasn’t disappointed. Really delicious, tasty food, good beer and wine, and our waiter, Sid, was lovely!! Good value for money too, would definitely recommend.
We had an excellent evening. The staff were very helpful and their food and drink suggestions were spot on. Very reasonable too. Thoroughly recommended.
After numerous visits to Gurkha grill I have many good things to say: great food, good service and the new layout is modern and welcoming. The only bad thing was they now charge you to take a doggy bag of your food.
This a fine Nepalese restaurant, with a much more imaginative menu than surrounding counterparts. When busy, time between courses can be 'extended', but quality and flavour are well worth the wait.
The menu is fairly extensive so I ordered a couple of poppadoms for starters. Now Gurkha Grill's cuisine is Nepalese and although this generally means they serve Indian type fare they do have their own twist on things. Because of this the poppadoms were served with a pickle tray which consisted of a light yoghurt, a dry onion, pepper and coriander mix and the best dip was... I don't know what it was but it was lovely and it seemed to be a mango chutney which had been blended down to a honey like syrup.
The food here is fantastic. Staff are always very inviting and attentive. The quality of their food, particularly the lamb surpasses the quality of much more expensive curry houses. We always take friends from out of town here for the excellent food! By far one of the best curry houses in Manchester
Very friendly and great food. The waiter helped me choose a dish suitable for me. The wine was reasonably priced and came with a little background explained by the attentive waiter. The food was delicious and well presented and prompt. The quantity was enough but I must admit I like to take home a doggy bag so more would be better. It was my third time and service has been consistent so far. I would recommend this place to friends.
Lovely food. Amazing quality when i have a very picky family. We were over the moon with a perfect night. Sid our waiter was lovely. Great conversation and just a lovely guy. Would deffinitely go back
I had been recommended this place by a number of friends. The service is pretty slow - we got some water upon the fourth time of asking, but the staff were nice and friendly. The food was really good though, perfect amount of spice and the meat was really tender, we were quite shocked at how cheap it was (meal for two including beer and wine for £30). I'll definitely be going back.
Fantastic food, fantastic service! Authentic taste. Electricity North West had a power cut in the area, however, restaurant very promptly provided candles and repeatedly apologised although it was not their fault. My wife and I had a very pleasant evening.
I booked online for myself and a few friends and it was the best thing I did! I had been once before but did not remember it being that good.
I have visited the other two Nepalese restaurants in west Didsbury and the Gurkha wins hands down especially in value for money.
All five of us had different curries and they were all very tasty. Add that to the fact that the atmosphere was nice and the prices were VERY reasonable and you got the perfect combination for a great night.
If there is one Nepalese restaurant you want to try then make it the Gurkha Grill!
The food was on point, the staff are lovely and super friendly, and it's £4 for a pint of cobra when it's normally more for a 330ml bottle in other places. Laughing!! Will definitely go again many more times
The food is packed full of flavour with good sized portions. The chicken hariyali and shaslick are some of my favourites dishes but if you want something really spicy try gurkali chicken or lamb. The staff are also very attentive, happy to tweak the recipe if you have something specific in mind and make you feel really welcome. It's an intimate atmosphere, great value, with wonderful food. What's not to love!
I have been to ghurka grill a few times now and it never disappoints. My first visit to ghurka grill I was served by a young gentleman Rana who provided exceptional service. Cannot fault him.Very professional and friendly . He was very attentive and gave me good recommendations from the menu on what to order . It is the best service I have received in my dining experience. On another day I met sid who provides the comedy entertainment and very friendly . Coming to the food I ordered a madras and pilau rice nan and chips and it was delicious . I have eaten out in a few restaurants in and around Manchester and this was very tasty and brimming with flavour. They cater specifically to how you want it so I like my food spicy and they did just that. I haven't been dissapointed eating here and will definitely come back and recommend to others. The ambience in the restaurant is cosy and romantic with a beautiful rose on the table, setting the mood . Definitely a hidden gem in west didsbury.
Dined here last week with the family and I must say I had a really lovely experience. Our waiter Nanny was very informative and friendly and the food was just beautiful. I'll definitely be returning.
The friendliest restaurant ever. Really nice people great food and and love the food. If you want a curry or a mixed grill all are equally amazing. Also quite cheap for West Didsbury. Really relaxed environment.
Had a reunion here with 3 guys who worked at Smith Knight Fay in the early Audi days. We all had different starters and mains, we were 100% agreed the food was outstanding. Sid the very polite and characterful waiter put the icing on the cake witb superb service. A definate must go again, prices very fair for the quality of the food
Always been a big fan of the restaurant, food is much higher quality than the average Rusholme curry house, with a greater variety, for around the same price. Just tried their takeaway service - just as good, up there with the best takeaway curries we've had. Highly recommended.
Not been to the Gurkha grill for 20 years. The restaurant could do with a bit of a refurb including the crockery etc. The menu is excellent with some very interesting options as well as the old favourites. My personal choice probably wasnt the best for me but the quality of food was generally very good although the dhal was a bit thin and the salads rather weedy.
Great tasting food and some of the most friendly customer service I've ever had. Is went with the Meerkat meal deal which made the food a total steal.
Can't recommend highly enough
Absolutely love this place, great atmosphere, fantastic food, friendly and great service! I have been here twice and really can't fault the place! Both times I've been I haven't been disappointed. Good portions and reasonably priced, definitely highly recommended!
Today we were served by a lovely gentleman by the name of Sid who was colourful and creative and very hospitable. We also received the service of a younger gentleman by the name of Vini who was equally as pleasant and respectful.
I've been a regular here at Gurkha Grill and I have always found the staff to be fabulous, the food to be fresh and delicious and the management to be very welcoming.
I am delighted to offer my recommendation and hope you enjoy the delightful Nepali cuisine there serve here.
Absolutely lovely meal, excellent service, all the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely visit again.
