I keep on going back for their pancakes! They are super fluffy, served with honeycomb butter and berry compote. They have a limited selection of dishes all executed well, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ambiance is relaxed and friendly. I always enjoy going here!
Fab Place!
Loved Evelyn’s!!! Great food lovely staff and a wonderful atmosphere!! Such a gorgeous building too. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was great.
When we arrived it was packed out, of course we hadn't actually even thought to book, which was a massive rookie mistake as it was 1pm on a Saturday & we both work in hospitality and so, should've known better. But, the lovely people that work there managed to find us a table & regardless of how busy it was the service was a lot faster than we thought it would be, considering.
was what my husband said as we left Evelyn’s on Saturday morning after a lovely relaxed breakfast .... Ricotta pancakes were light as a feather and the avocado on sour dough with perfectly poached egg was delicious. Coffee was so good we had two each. Staff were delightful. 10/10. Highly recommended.
I really appreciate Evelyn's decoration, it's simple bur very aesthetically pleasing.
The team is incredibly nice, too!
My only complaint is that it is a bit overpriced.
Went with the friend for a Sunday Lunch catch up. We had not booked, and luckily a table had come free, so we were seated straight away.
Plenty on the menu to choose from for all taste. From Sharing boards to Sunday Lunch.
As soon as we read the menu we all decided on the Sunday Lunch option. We both had the Roast Beef and our daughter had the lamb.
The meat just melted in our mouths and the yorkshire puddings were the best I have tasted out and about for a long time.
Desert of Apple Crumble to follow, which again was lovely.
Restaurant has a very relaxed vibe to it, you are not rushed during your meal, we were allowed to take our time to enjoy the afternoon at our own pace. Finished off the meal with coffees and a cocktail, that was recommended by a member of staff "King Louis" and again, not disappointed at all.
The staff were brilliant, really friendly and attentive, but not pushy.
We will definitely eat there again.
Soooo… I might not be the most organised of travel bloggers (for that, you might want to check Silverspoon London!).
To be completely honest, a large part of my travel plans is always dedicated to ‘wandering around’ and ‘exploring the tiny streets’. But one thing I always, always make extensive research on is restaurants.
And trust me when I say Evelyn's must be at the top of your list for Manchester!
Visited Evelyn’s Cafe on Saturday lunch time. There was a small wait to get in as the place was very busy but the staff were very friendly and informative about the wait.
Once in, the menu had numerous dishes that I would have loved to try but I went for the steak and egg with a side of zatar oyster mushrooms, and my wife the fish and chip. Both dishes were beyond expectation, every mouthful was a joy. Washed down with some of the best margaritas I’ve had. The whole experience was fantastic. And then came the fluffy pancakes, wow what can I say light fluffy the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Thanks team Evelyn’s. With a big shout out to Lucas in the kitchen. Thank you all for a great time. I will be back next time I’m in Manchester.
One of the best brunches in the city, and always very kind staff. Every time I come, they have wonderful food! Beautiful restaurant with really nice natural lighting. You will not be disappointed if you try Evelyn’s out!
We were three guys waiting for a train in semi presentable clothes, felt a bit out of place as everyone there looked like they were wearing their best. But we got no odd looks and the staff were very kind, very accommodating. Hana served us and was very helpful and attentive. The food was amazing - I recall saying it was perhaps the best breakfast sandwich/burger I had ever had.
Exudes charm and sophistication from the moment you step through its doors. Evelyn's offers a unique fusion of contemporary cuisine, relaxed ambiance, and impeccable service, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts and casual diners alike.
The café's eclectic décor combines industrial-chic elements with cozy touches, creating a welcoming space that feels both trendy and intimate. Exposed brick walls, lush greenery, and vintage-inspired furniture set the stage for a memorable dining experience.
The menu is a celebration of locally sourced ingredients and global flavors, with a focus on seasonality and sustainability. From hearty brunch options to inventive small plates and hearty mains, there's something to tantalize every palate.
Start your culinary journey with the avocado smash on sourdough toast, a refreshing twist on a classic favorite, or indulge in the crispy halloumi fries served with tangy harissa yogurt. For mains, the slow-cooked lamb shoulder with rosemary jus is a melt-in-your-mouth masterpiece, while the vegan-friendly jackfruit tacos offer a flavorful plant-based alternative.
Service at Evelyn's is attentive yet unobtrusive, with staff members who are passionate about food and eager to accommodate any dietary preferences or special requests. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely brunch with friends or a romantic dinner date, you'll feel well taken care of from start to finish.
This place is an absolute must try! We've had our eye on this place for some time, finally we had a day off without the kids so decided to treat ourselves to some brunch. The service was great, staff were all very friendly. We shared the Fried Chicken Sando and the Buttermilk Pancakes between us. The chicken was perfectly crispy and with a beautiful balance of flavours. Pancakes were super fluffy, and I mean super fluffy! topped with butterscotch and honeycomb. Highly recommend both. I went for the Vietnamese ice coffee which was a first for me, it consisted of coffee poured over ice and with condensed milk at the bottom, was delightful. Certainly look forward to coming back when we are next in Manchester.
Such a cute spot! I went on a Friday morning around 9:30am, so not too busy. But based on how good the food is, that is not always the case. I had the most amazing pancakes on earth! If you don't mind a sweet breakfast, for sure give them a try. Great service too!
Nice brunch place, the food was pretty good. It took over an hour for some people on our table to get their food (it was pretty busy). The only other negative is how expensive the food is, a poke bowl is £15.50 and there was barely any salmon. Adding a slice of smoked salmon to toast was £4..
Great lunch. Lots of choice and fantastic food. Service was slow-ish but friendly on a very busy Saturday lunch. Really enjoyed it and hope to return.
The manager was the nicest person ever! Helped us order and gave us free hibiscus lemonade (which was homemade and delicious!)
And food was very, very good! The burger for me was the best! But the girls loved the full brekkie even more!
Halal, 100% reccomend!!
Took myself on a solo date night to evelyn’s. I had never been to Manchester before so discovering the area. Elegant small plates with a great range of food options (vegan/veggie/gf etc). The staff were so lovely and check in the perfect amount. This was complimented by the homely but chic decor. The open kitchen was a great addition to the space, and the cocktails are simply amazing. A bit of a spender meal but well worth a treat.
Superb ambiance and excellent attentive service. The food was incredible with personal highlights being the mushrooms and cauliflower both of which were the best take on dishes using said ingredients I’ve ever tasted!
not a bad start to the day! stumbled upon this cafe as i was strolling through the city center and popped in for some brunch.
food was quite nice but service was a tad slow, wasn’t particularly busy either (about 5 tables including me). I had to get up and ask to pay at the end instead of paying at the table, which is already awkward being alone but i’m not too fussed!
Came in early (9 AM!) to get a spot as I don’t have reservation.
Ordered the steak and it’s amazing!! Ordered the ECB fried chicken in my previous visit and it’s amazing as well. Highly recommend these.
Had the most wonderful brunch today. Luckily my wife and I were accommodated without a booking which was really appreciated.
The atmosphere is very relaxing and the decor is lovely. We were served by Jason who was very attentive and professional.
All the meat is Halal so the whole menu looked really appealing.
We ordered the pancakes and the steak and eggs. Had a bit of a wait for food but it was totally worth it. The pancakes are super fluffy served with a berry compote.
The steak and eggs are sensational, very well seasoned, packed full of flavour and the crunchy potatoes are moreish!
Best brunch we’ve had, would highly recommend. We will definitely be back again next time we’re in Manchester.
Got the basic avocado toast + poached egg (which was exquisitely done) for that added flavour, otherwise it'd be too bland for me. The feta cheese on the shakshuka was my favourite with the lava eggs.
Expect a long wait on weekends and not being able to get the buttermilk pancakes as the star of the show runs out quick!
Atmosphere - can be rowdy as the space was small with tables and chairs packed tightly against each other.
Service - the girls on duty that day were quick to respond and efficient. My savoury experience there had been smooth and enjoyable. Kudos to them.
Visited in September, and stopping here was genuinely the highlight of our trip. The loveliest staff & most incredible food! They truly went above and beyond for us. Thank you so much, can’t wait to come back !! 💗
Very lively restaurant. Food is delicious here. We went on a Sunday at lunchtime. We Ordered roast dinner and poke bowl. The meat was deliciously cooked and cabage was on point. Salad was good too. They even have a kids roast dinner which is a smaller version of the roast dinner that is not on the menu you will need to ask for. Grisha was serving us and she was very friendly always very attentive, even gave us an expresso coffee for free as my dad was not happy about the size of a single shot expresso. We will come back when in Manchester
