Visited here with family the place is nice and the food is good value for the early bird meal and the staff were friendly place was clean I would recommend this restaurant
A french casual brasserie, very good atmosphere and helpful staff.
The food was good, we had their December special with moules et frites and smoked salmon as starters. We enjoyed our experience at Cote.
Like most people obsessed with food and eating out, I'm against chains generally. This is because by their very nature they're places that have all the heart and soul and idiosyncrasy removed from them. The very things we actually look for. It has to be like that. Everything is usually formulaic and strictly regulated by head office. It's a system that works to some extent. However, I was keen to try the new Côte Brasserie . Since the sad demise of Relais de Venise L' Entrecôte last year, there's nowhere that I can go in town for simple steak-frites to my knowledge. We just don't have that little local family run French bistro on the corner that's been there for years, so where else is there? They couldn't afford the sky high city centre rents for a start. Only chains can afford to move in. (Perhaps a reason why we don't have a good tapas bar right now as well, until Ibérica move in next year).
The steak itself arrived in well under 15 minutes and was just stunning. Exceptional quality, perfectly cooked to a beautiful, pink rare and extremely well seasoned. Served with frites, a caper & onion salad and a rather good béarnaise, it was a joy. It certainly beat a dodgy kebab, ‘fast food’ just doesn’t get any better.
Côte, Manchester is a ‘chain restaurant’ and, being an unashamed food snob, I usually avoid these like the plague. I visited the other day because I fancied steak tartare and could not find anywhere else in Manchester that had it on the menu. The food was a mixed bag overall – the crayfish salad tasted ridiculously briny - but the fish cakes, steak frites, pissaladière and steak tartare were all good value. Star dish: Sautéed Salmon Fishcakes.
Have been at the Cote Manchester restaurant a few times and can say it is a solid choice for dinner.
My go to dish is the Ribeye steak. Steak is cooked well and tender, with good flavour.
To point out that when you upgrade your steak for the Ribeye, you need to pay extra for garlic butter. Instead, if you don’t upgrade would be included in the price.
Having said that, I enjoyed the times I stopped by to have dinner.
Lovely cosy atmosphere with perfect mood lighting. The staff were attentive but not overbearing as another review said and the food was so lovely will definitely be visiting again in the near future. I had the sea bream and my partner has steak frites we’d recommend both! We shared the chicken liver parfait as a starter and it was a great portion size and was yummy
We celebrated my son's birthday at the Cote Brasserie and everything was superb! Delicious food, a lovely atmosphere and fantastic staff. My son and daughter had the French onion soup, which was as good as any we've ever had in Paris. We also had the steak frites, Cote burger and the tomato tart fine, all were delicious and perfectly cooked. My son said it was the best burger he'd ever tasted. 10/10 would absolutely dine here again.
This is an absolute treat! Instead of being in France due to industrial action, we sought to bring France to us and so glad we did. The food was high quality and in comfortable surroundings. Steak tartare as good as I have ever had (minus the egg yolk, because this in Britain!).
A touch on the pricey side, but in this particular case, you do get what you pay for.
Very good
The food here is so amazing! That's what meals in heaven must taste like x loved it.
It was my 1 year anniversary since being diagnosed with lung cancer. We couldnt have picked a better place to celebrate. Nico was excellent and very attentive.
I was pleasantly surprised when dinning with my friends at this French restaurant!😁😊 It's so refreshing when the service, the establishment and the food match and reflect on each other. By that I mean the waitress was nice, courteous, knowledgeable and warm. The place was clean, quiet and easy to find. The food was delicious and affordable. I would have given it 5 stars if the crab starter was not so salty but they didn't charge us for it after we made them aware. If you eat pork order the Beef cheeks, as it contains bacon, hmmm they are to die for!❤️😘. Otherwise, the steak is a good option too. For starters I recommend the calamaris are yummy particularly with the sauce it comes with! So two mains and two starters comes around £50 max. I highly recommend this place and I will gladly come back!
3/5 for value
2/5 for main course: seafood not fresh. Mussels smells not too good.
Cream spinach is kinda sour
5/5 for this fig salad. Really creative dish
1/5 for coffee: sour tastes like yogurts
4/5 for ambience
4/5 for service: a waiter messed up our courses name
5/5 for Ambience and cleanness not too bad
Overall spent about £40 per person with 3 sides, 2 coffee, 2 main courses and 1 salad. but the portion is sooooo small yet the tastes still needs to be improved.
though
Ate here for brunch. Good menu choices from lighter to full. We had the champagne breakfast which is excellent value. Very good service. Nice surroundings and decor, it was fairly quiet so lacked a buzz but was still nice.
Great atmosphere with good food quality in the city Center! Highly recommended. Had a two-course lunch with my wife. We both like it very much, just that we ordered medium for our steaks and they were a bit over; everything else was great!
lovely smart casual restaurant . Great for dates or if you're celebrating something.
We ordered from the set menu (the one after 7pm. they have a set menu for before 7pm which is cheaper but I've heard the portion sizes are also smaller).
we got 2 course: sea bass and belly pork for main and the almond financier and chocolate and salted caramel tart for dessert. All 4 were lovely.
- Sea bass was prefectly cooked with a nice crispy skin. be careful of bones (i didnt come across any small ones but just a big one near the end).
- belly pork was nicely cooked and came with a side of dauphinoise potatoes which were very creamy and went well with the belly pork.
- Almond financier was very dense and almondy. It goes very well with the vanilla ice cream.
- chocolate tart was sweet but not too sweet. I found it fine and it came with ice cream so it wasnt too sweet but my friend found it quite sweet.
Absolutely wonderful food.
The only drawback was too long waiting time for the desert. But it was worth every minute.
Love this place, am a semi-regular visitor with friends. This was the last visit because it is closing it's doors on Sunday. I can understand the logistics behind the rise in the lease cost, however the staff are lovely and the manager made this place and they definitely deserve a big fat bonus! Food has always been excellent and we only ever have the house white because it is quality.
Some food options are hit and miss in terms of presentation, quantity and taste. Most options are great though. Always a great place to get food as a nice big restaurant with classy decor and usually a spare table. Staff always very lovely. Price is spot on.
The dishes are up to standard and good, with reasonable price. The only thing to be improved is the waiting time for the food served after placing the orders.
The interior looked nice and cosy. The waitress who served us was lovely & friendly & the food was excellent. Really love this Restaurant. Very authentic.
What an amazing visit for an anniversary, the food was amazing. We had a very slight issue with a potato dish but it was dealt with professionally and swiftly. The manager Cameron went above and beyond to make it a special occasion we will be returning without a doubt.
