Amazing food and atmosphere. We went for the Rajdoot platter which was a variety of tandoori dishes - delicious!
Just had a corporate booking here, everything from start to finish was professionally organised and the team really cared about every single detail. The food was mouth watering and the service was brilliant.
Beautiful food in an ambient and cosy setting. The foot is authentic and the restaurant is clean. The service was fantastic ad not obtrusive. We will be back in the close future
Food was delicious and the restaurant is well decorated and has a very contemporary feel to it. the waiter was attentive and made recommendations willingly when asked. Has a good selection of drinks. The location is near the main road but the music and atmosphere inside help you forget that.
Good service. Reasonably priced food, the vegetarian options were limited. It is a popular place and was busy even on a Sunday evening. Table booking is recommended. Worth a try!
We booked several large tables at the Raj Doot, for my leaving 'do'. Everything was perfect. Suman was easy to work with and the terms and conditions of the booking were made really clear. The staff were then, however, prepared to bring a little flexibility to the arrangements and were very kind. The service was impeccable. At one point, I spilled a large glass of wine right across the bar, and the staff just handed me another full glass, while asking me if I was OK. The most important part of the night - the food - was truly excellent. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Whether you are thinking of a quiet night out, or planning a larger 'event', do consider this family-run gem of a restaurant.
Camer here with a party of 12. Food is very authentic, service is quick and friendly. I had the Nepalese specialty, Chicken Johl which was very flavoursome.
Not as good?. The Rajdoot when it was in King st the pick of all Indian dining in Manchester, since its move to Albert sq ,we feel that the quality of the food has dipped.Though maybe others have come up to the plate and 'Rajja's' is not as original as was.
Still go now and again and would recommend any visitor to Manchester, its still cool place,a Deffo from us.
This is the best Indian place in city center. It's actualy got Nepalese inspired dishes, but there is still plenty of wonderful Indian food, the butter naan is amazing and the staff is attentive and energetic. A definite must!
The place is in the centre of the city, well approachable. The place represent indian smell and sense. The food is really good. Serving time is little much with little staff.
Stunning food. A wonderful family run restaurant. The food is so fresh and tender, and the flavour is 100%. Anytime we get to Manchester, we have always gone here for dinner. Very reasonably priced for city centre. And you certainly don't leave hungry. Our daughter has ranked this her 2nd favourite Indian restaurant but 1st for the poppadoms, and she loves her grub!!
Love it, food was great, service was great, forget all the new swanky,so called trendy places, nice change to actually dine in an authentic Indian restaurant that feels like an Indian restaurant, definitely worth a look
Rajdoot Tandoori is an award-winning Indian restaurant in Manchester that has been serving authentic north Indian cuisine for nearly 50 years. The restaurant is known for its tandoori dishes, which are cooked in a traditional clay oven. Rajdoot Tandoori also has a wide variety of vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options.
The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with comfortable seating and attentive service. The food is delicious and flavorful, and the portions are generous. Rajdoot Tandoori is a great place to enjoy a traditional Indian meal with friends or family.
Serves various alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
Visited as party of 8 on a busy Saturday evening. Slight confusion with pre order ( probably my spreadsheet and not helped by one guest eating chicken and thinking it was cod!) Issue quickly resolved and enjoyed really good food. Lamb chops excellent. Chicken bhuna I asked for Madras but was still slightly mild for me but great flavours. Will be back! ( it’s not our first visit )
Nice colorful and quiet ambience with impressive Indian artifacts placed around.. Had the lunch special plus the Lamb Biryani and felt the dishes were good for the cost and the ambiance.. Liked the Rogan josh in particular. They have a nice bar if you are in the mood for a drink.. Would recommend for Indian food if you are in Manchester Centre. Will definitely be back..
We enjoyed a delicious meal at lunchtime today. The food and service were excellent as always. A real treat at any time of year but especially after lots of turkey and tinsel! The ambience and spice was very welcome! A special thanks to our friendly waiter from Chorlton! We'll definitely be back x
We enjoyed a delicious meal at dinner time while our trip to Manchester . The food and service were excellent as always specially Prabhat was very attentive and friendly,He explained everything and made our dinner experience wonderful.Must visit with your friends and family.
Accommodating of large group booking and the selection of the Set Menu A was superb way to taste our way through their wide range of food.
The addition of the candlelit hot plates helped to keep all the individual bowls hot so we didn't have to rush eating - personal highlight was the flavoursome and crispy peshwari naans.
Walked past this place a million times and can't believe I'd never been in before. Food & service was excellent and so reasonably priced. A hidden (in plain sight) gem.
I go to a lot of restaurants and was expecting a bit of something special here related to prices and 10% charge that is added to bill no matter what. Decor is nice but some bits don't go. Staff are also nice. The starter was nice but rest was average. i was disappointed with the tea that was suppose to be masala chai ( tasted more of a flavoured tea bag ) Not what i was expecting from fine dinning.
Very authentic Indian cuisine in a traditionally decorated restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious!
I always make a point of coming here when I'm in Manchester - I live in Canada now and there is nowhere here that I have found that can match the old-school luxury feeling of rajdoot. The food is always excellent as well, but I can find good food in lots of places. However I can't find this blast from the past anywhere else - there is a reason it's been around for so long.
Looking forward to my next visit the next time I'm across the pond.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. The decor in the restaurant is very nice. We were seated by a member of staff and given menus. We had to order from a 'waiting area' style area which is a concept I've never come across before. We ordered lamb chops, chilli garlic chicken, chili garlic paneer and roti and garlic naan. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, the meat was nice and tender and not chewy at all. The chicken dish tasted very nice but there was hardly any gravy/sauce in the dish. I mentioned to the waiter who quickly offered to add more sauce. Once the dish came back it was perfect. The paneer was great and cooked well. The roti was slightly over done and crispy, not very soft nor was it buttered. Had I not had the issue with the chicken dish or roti, I would give 5 stars. I would recommend and would return.
A lovely experience from start to finish. The decor is ambient, traditional and comfortable. It really gives you a feel that this restaurant is serious about the experience. Otherwise, it’s my kind of curry house. It’s nice sit down first in the soft area before going to your table and have a drink. The staff are very helpful, pleasant, and will go out of their way to make the experience better. The curry was great, full of flavour and the portion size was perfect. I’m a fan of the candle box warmer on the table that keeps the curry pots warm. Best wishes from Tom and Josh! 🎊
Very delicious food served and good service provided by Sujata, I really had a good time in Rajdoot.
