The food was well portioned. They use fresh ingredients and cook right there I’m visibility of the customers. The place is quite hip and has a good vibe. The coffee and tea were great.
One of the best cappuccinos i’ve had.
The place os cosy and welcome and people are very friendly. Loved also the reusable cups.
Prices ate pretty good for 12oz cappuccino
Went here for a lunch the other day with our dog and was really impressed. Lovely light menu with huge delicious salads, sandwiches, etc. all of which looked lovely. Unlike many places in the Northern Quarter there is plenty of space, so the tables are not rammed together. Plenty of room for us and our dog.
Lovely chilled atmosphere and free doggie biscuits available too. We didn't have any but the cakes looked so tempting. I'll definitely be back there for coffee and cake!
All in all, a good find in the NQ and massively recommend it.
There’s no better feeling than waking up early on a Saturday morning and attempting to hit a personal best during the Platt Fields 5km Park Run. Ok that’s a lie. The best feeling is hitting a pb during the Platt Fields 5km Park run and then celebrating with a big, bad-ass breakfast. This week, we opted to try the famous pancakes at Ezra & Gil in the Northern Quarter. The restaurant is a great space: simple tables, combination of old-and-new-looking chairs, a comfy booth a few quirky wall décor arrangements. It has a stark industrial, but not cold, feel, making it a worthy addition to the NQ breakfast scene.
Really tasty breakfast dishes, good coffees and a nice selection of cakes/coffees. Best to arrive early to get a table without waiting too long.
My only criticism was that there wasn't enough bread to go with the eggs, ham, whatnot...
It was a wonderful experience, the staff were nice, the food was delicious, especially the sourdough toast. The most amazing thing was the service was fast. I thought it would take a long time, but the food was prepared in less than five minutes. It will not be the last visit and I will always come because I was happy with you 🥰🥰
Lovely place to drink and eat! Great food, decent value for money and the food is always bang on.
It can get a little busy so queuing might be necessary on weekends.
You also have the option to get a table where you can work with a laptop too.
Overall, excellent!
Finally tried Ezra & Gil last weekend. A couple of tables when we arrived which was great, but still pretty busy at 9:20am so recommended getting there early.
Ordered and the coffees came within a couple of minutes and the food came within 10mins which was really quick. My turmeric latte was a bit on the small side for the price, and lacked deeper flavour. Partner’s iced coffee was large and tasty. There’s a good selection of alternative milks too which was a bonus.
The porridge was delicious, and the scrambled eggs were great, but had been salted unevenly so some bits were too salty while some bits lacked salt. Overall really good, just some small bits of feedback that we found.
Service was quick and friendly. Quite a big space and comfortable. We’ll be back 👍
WOW just wow
I can’t believe it was only last week that I have ever been to Ezra and Gil.
There was a little queue because it was a lovely Saturday morning so everyone had the same idea on going out for breakfast, however the queue went fast and it was 1000% worth the wait.
The service was great the food was UNREAL - I got the smashed pumpkin on toast with a poached egg and my friend got the chorizo and ham mash Benedict.
10/10 - coffee was also amazing. Will be going again soon.
Best breakfast I’ve had out in ages! So tasty and great service! I would come back if I’m ever in town!
Great little breakfast place, able to accommodate a walk in despite being busy.
Really enjoyed the food eggs were cooked to perfection. Service was good considering just how packed the place was on a Saturday morning.
Fresh orange juice is a must!
Hands down the best Benedict eggs I have ever had. Loved the place.
Update: we have come back a few times already and I love it so much!
Great place for brunch. Swift service and good quality food, with particularly tasty sweet treats. The beans-on-toast dish was easily our table’s top dish.
We ate breakfast here. The classic English breakfast and 'Nduja scrambled eggs were delicious, but keep in mind that the portions are big. They have a large selection of dishes on the menu. The ambience is nice and pleasant. I recommend!
I had a really great time there. The food was really good especially the American pancakes and their barbecue melted chicken! The staff was really lovely and always smiling. I even lost track of time when I was there haha.
It’s definitely going to be my brunch spot in Manchester!
And they have the best music playlist ever ! Brought me back some good memories from my childhood:)
Stopped here for brunch on a really nice sunny day. Had the poached eggs on toast with a Cumberland sausage, and a coffee. The food and coffee were delicious and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely recommend.
Great quality of food, helped me to take the order when the queues were too long, love the vibe.
Have to wait 10 minutes to get in. The price is a little bit over.
Great brunch spot! Add to your go-to list.
I ordered a vegan Fusilli al Pomodoro. Fresh and tasty. Perfect for a light afternoon lunch.
Better for group and couple dates, definitely a place for catching up with friends and family.
Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free & dairy-free options are available.

Woah. I don’t use superlatives all that often in my reviews, but the hot chocolate I had at Ezra & Gil was one of the tastiest I’ve ever had. Everything about it was perfect: temperature, creaminess, the decorative swirl on top. Non-dairy milks to have it with, too.
I need another one now.
Ezra & Gil is a very nice place with a good atmosphere and a regular crowd it's l located in The Northern Quarter close to Piccadilly Gardens.the staff were very good and the coffee was excellent.i didn't try the food but it looks good.ir looks like it gets very busy at the weekend.
I'm a breakfast lover, so trust me if I tell you that Ezra & Gil is the place to go !
It was one of the best English breakfasts I had and the best of Manchester for sure !
We've been there 3 times, and it was better every time ...🤗
Thanks to the staff for making those moments even better !
