First time to Manchester and we were looking for somewhere close to City Apartments, Church Street to eat. Came across this place and so pleased we weren't put off by a few couples infront of us waiting to be seated. We were given a table very quickly by the friendly, super efficient staff.
We shared the pigs in blankets to start with and ordered 2 different pies to halve and share. Absolutely delicious. Thin, crispy pastry with plenty of filling and gravy to accompany them.
Great value for money. The whole lot plus a bottle of wine was £37.
Absolutely fantastic.. love this place. Been visiting the restaurant since it opened and i has never disappointed. If you're a pie minister virgin then id suggest you try the Mothership.. its a belter!
Great Pies!
You wouldn’t go wrong trying the pies here! Both my friend n I agreed that the beef pie was better. Unique different sauces to pour over the pies. The side dish of salad was alright. Nice, warm n crispy crusted! Yummy!
It’s 3.5/5 for me!
Staff is really nice. Location, ambience quite good for the money. Unfortunately, the gravy is not tasty. Might rather have my pie just by itself. £5 for just the pie? Fine taste-wise. Also, it’s sort of filling enough to the point where you want more but you should not eat more.
Would I recommend? I guess so, for the variety.
Till then, I’ll look for a better pie place.
Their chicken and mushroom pie is excellent and the gravy is out of this world. The place is really tiny though and you can almost miss it while passing by. So keep an eye out for it.
Victoria “Mrs” Petticoat
+4.5
To begin we shared a few sausage rolls, both were tasty but for me the Mr Hot was the best. I started to imagine a sausage roll dressed as a Chippendale and couldn’t work out if this was funny or sexy.
I was the very first customer at the brand new PieMinister today, banging on the door shouting ; I need pie let me in! I know Pieminister pies very well, first I think at The Big Chill Festival years ago, then at Chorlton and Altrincham bars Pi . The inside is as you'd expect; that modern clinical slightly industrial look. Turns out they have another branch at Trentham Gardens , near my home town, so many of the staff are well experienced, although the Northern Quarter is a very different clientèle. They have a good visible position there as well, just down from the crossroads where Vinyl Exchange is, and not too far from the Arndale. I had some Gourmet Pork Scratchings with apple sauce whilst I was waiting. These were good, crunchy, not too salty and tasted proper home made. For £3 though, I'd expect a few more to be honest. I also had to drink a Fentimans Dandelion & Burdock, a perfect old school accompaniment to a pie I think. They had beer, but the choice was fairly limited
Pieminister on Church Street, on the Edge of Manchester’s Northern Quarter, over the road from Affleck’s Palace, is a pie shop that sells Pieminister pies.
What a place! Haven’t had better pies in my lifetime, so if you are interested pies, then you should check it out! The sides are amazing too. The gravy taste original even that it might come from some industrial package. The staff is very friendly and kind!
Can really recommend it!
Pieminister in Manchester exceeded all my expectations with its incredible pies! The savory delights served here are nothing short of perfection. From the first bite to the last, each pie was a testament to craftsmanship and flavor.
What sets Pieminister apart is not only the exceptional quality of their pies but also the diverse range of creative and delicious fillings. The menu caters to various tastes, ensuring there's something for everyone.
I highly recommend a visit to Pieminister if you're in Manchester. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the friendly staff, creates a welcoming environment. Whether you're a pie enthusiast or just looking for a delicious meal, Pieminister is a must-try. Don't miss out on this pie paradise – it's a culinary experience that will leave you craving more!
Great food but a little small inside. The door was heavy to close and open so traffic noise was a minor problem.
The Gluten Free Pie was apparently a great treat.
Good vibes, good pies, served by the ghost of John Lennon. Took a risk trying the vegan mash and it was divine, had the vegan chicken pie with it which was perfect. Would swim in the gravy if there was enough of it. Will be here again, thank you!
Great experience eating here at Pieminister.
I have visited 3 times now during my work lunch and each time has been pleasant to eat one of their pies along with a drink. My choice of pies have always been vegan and have all tasted really nice. The service is quick and the staff are friendly and can advise on the selections they have.
Totale Empfehlung! Tolle Pies - absolutes Soul Food! Hab‘s geliebt! ❤️

Total recommendation! Great pies - absolute soul food! Loved it! ❤️
Came here for lunch on Sunday, not too busy right when they opened. I ordered the Moo pie which has British Beef Steak and craft Ale. I don't really eat meat pies too often but it was great, flaky crust, tender beef. The gravy was a must to put on, it had great flavor. There were so many interesting flavors, I wish I could try mroe of them in the future.
Good food and tasty, well presented with sufficient portion sizes. Clean, pleasant interior. Reasonably priced, but not very convenient for disabled or young children. This is a small venue, so access would probably improve if they were able to move to a different location. Well placed in the city centre, car parking, buses and trams nearby.
Chicken pie was nice, if a bit dry. Staff weren't very attentive or friendly, but by no means rude. The toilet door lock was broken.
I tried the Moolin Rouge pie, British beef steak with bacon and red wine. Very tasty with a deep flavour. The mash potato is nice and smooth and the accompanying gravy very pleasant.
Many different options including vegetarian and vegan available on the menu.
Very reasonably priced, especially the midweek lunch special. Pie, side and soft drink for £10.
