Walnut serves authentic Persian food in the Rusholme area in Manchester. I have tried this place a few times and it has never disappointed. The kebab with the pomegranate molasses is fabulous, must try! The interior is very interesting Zoroastrian themed. I will go back!
Walnut is our number one Persian restaurant in Manchester. The food is absolutely amazing, the staffs are kind and attentive and the price is surely reasonable for what you get. Highly recommended!
An enjoyable family meal with freshly prepared food but service needs improvement. Our server was not well informed about the menu neither she was able to give any advise. The manager did check with us once but it was too late by then as we had finished our meal. Huge main course portions so good idea to share.
Went with a group of friends for Iftar and straight away they served us a big bottle of water and dates. The service was fantastic and the food left me speechless. Absolutely 10/10. Saffron ice cream did not live up to the hype but the Persian roulette was lovely.
We had dinner at Walnut Restaurant in Manchester for the first time. They were open until 11 pm on a weekday. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I ordered Joojeh Torsh for the main course. It was so delicious. I expected a smaller portion but they were generous with the portion.
We enjoyed Persian sweets and saffron tea after dinner. It is a must at this restaurant! Overall, the food and the service were excellent. I will definitely come back in my next visit.
This was absolutely top quality! It was so so good I can’t believe there is a little gem here that has seriously authentic persian food. It is super super worth a go everything from the meat to the rice is amazing and top quality
Our favourite Persian! Service with a smile from Madona, fresh food, authentic, realible and friendly service. This is my favourite place in Manchester to eat as it’s super clean, and welcoming
Delicious food. Really enjoyed it. I would recommend and visit again!
Great place. The food is amazing. Always busy but service is very good.

Arrived an hour earlier than booked and was seated immediately.
Lovely and very welcoming staff
Food was lovely
Nice comfortable environment
Surrounded by families
Non alcohol serving mashallah
Prayer Facility downstairs which is always significant when reviewing a place.
Months ago, I visited this beautiful restaurant. They gave me such amazing service and food that I had to write this review after months, and this is because it was amazing food. The best Persian food I had in Europe. Mandana and the young Kurdish gentlemen gave me such a nice feeling that I visited this restaurant three times in only four days in Manchester. I recommend this place strongly. Thanks, Mandana and Walnut.
Iranian cuisine refers to Iran's culinary customs. Persian food is another name for Iran's culinary traditions, even though many Iranian ethnic groups have contributed to them. This is because the term "Persia" has historically been used to refer to Iran in the West.
We tried the Istak which is a traditional Persian non-alcoholic malt beverage (Peach Flavour), Walnut Special Mixed Kebab - one skewer each of marinated lamb fillet, joojeh and koobideh served with grilled tomatoes and choice of rice/naan/salad or chips, Mast-O-Mosir - Shallot & Garlic mixed with thick strained home made yoghurt and finished with Saffron Tea. The tea pot was so fancy and cute at the same time.
The ambience was amazing and so were the staff. As the food is freshly prepared and the restaurant usually is packed with foodies, it would take a bit longer to arrive. However, we enjoyed the entire experience 😊
Only when we consume food in its authentic form, without drawing comparisons to our own cuisine or palate, can we truly appreciate its beauty.
Very nice place, familiar, very friendly staff. About the food:
We ordered marinated olives and they were delicious and I ate it all.
For mains we order item 26 I forgot the name but its chiken with walnut sauce and it was delicious, all with rice and salad, all together was so tasty.
My partner ordered a lamb stew and it was very good and well done. The portions are big and the price it's fair for the portions, we took good to go because we couldn't finish everything.
Overall very nice and we are looking foward to try the other plates.
We came all the way from liverpool.
