I went with a friend on a Monday night when they were having a 2 for 1 meal special. It made their reasonably priced bar food a great value! I had a burger and fries - yummy - and my friend had their blackened chicken which he said was delicious. Had to go to the bar to order but that was no big deal. Food brought out quickly. I will definitely be going back!
We came in today for some light lunch and we were pleasantly surprised with the selection of food available at Revs now. Our server Laurie was very pleasant and helpful, even though he seemed the only front of house staff on shift. We chose the 'Hey Pesto' pizzas, which were absolutely lovely. What's better is that there was an option to have half a pizza and a salad, which is ideal for people who can't usually finish the whole pizza (like myself). Everything was served really quickly, which was great as we were really hungry, yet the food seemed like it was made freshly which we really liked as we're big foodies.
I would also like to compliment the decor inside the Oxford Rd Revs, as the one we have where we're from doesn't compare to it. Overall a very pleasant end to our trip to Manchester, and we really appreciate the service provided by Laurie. He seemed genuinely happy to help which is hard to come by in chain restaurants. He definitely should be a highly valued member of the team at Revs, as he made our experience there so much better!
We had cocktails here before a show in the theatre and they were lovely. They do a happy hour which makes it so much better as you’re getting two for the price of one. We got a table outside and enjoyed the scenery as we had cocktails and it’s an overall enjoyable experience.
They are friggin amazing barmen!!!! Great service and proper made our night!!! They really made the night!!!!
The bar staff Sinclair and Tommy couldn’t be friendlier, great guys. Quick service and very friendly

Long long time ago (2 years), when I was a student we frequented Revolution almost every weekend. I have been for several student parties here including my own 21st birthday party. I will have to say I always had a good time when I went there, may be because back then all I wanted to see in a club was people my age (students).
Then I grew up, started working and discovered a whole new side of Manchester - Northern Quarter and my whole perception changed! I started enjoying bars more than clubs and the people I wanted to see in those bars were supposed to be sophisticated and not very loud (just the opposite of students). My tastes and preferences changed and I stopped going to my beloved Revolution. But I will have to say I still always had a good night whenever I landed up there (it took a lot of convincing). I bet if Revolution was not on Deansgate locks it would be popular amongst the corporate crowd, because a lot of that crowd tend to avoid young students but let me tell you they all secretly love it!
I went there again last week for their re-launch party and guess what I had fun! Yeah it was a more mixed crowd this time with students and working professionals. I went there with Yelpers and had a blast dancing with Amy W and Vikki C. The cocktails were decent but the canapes were delicious. There was a proper party atmosphere with girls dancing with fire and all sorts and to be fair it was entertaining to watch! The price of drinks are reasonable too, well its cheaper than pubs in deansgate and NQ!
Verdict : If you are up for having a laugh along with some dancing, Revolutions should definitely be on the radar for you!
It's common, its well-known, but I like it.
Revolution sells great cocktails, and great shots. Even for a beer man such as myself, these are damn cool, and well worth an hour of your time, if not a whole evening.
The purchase of a Revolution Card makes things much cheaper, and the alcohol to price ratio is decent, compared to somewhere like Font.
This is one of my favourite places to go for food and cocktails! Good atmosphere and it's worth getting the revolution discount card- it's £3 for one but you get BOGOF on selected cocktails all the time!
This is a place I used to frequent almost every week while I was in University, and I definitely have a whole lot of fond memories associated with this place so my review might be a bit biased!
Revolutions is a chain around UK and this particular oxford road one is pretty much packed everyday of the week barring exam time. Having said that there are also fair amounts of young corporates who can be spotted here. The alcohol is reasonably cheap (as it should be in a student bar) and they have some great happy hour deals like free pizza 2 4 1 cocktails etc. It is situated in a very convenient location too, right on oxford road so a good place to go for pre drinks before a party. The couches are comfortable and there is a dance floor too in case you want to dance!
Do try out their pizza it is surprisingly good!
My Verdict: It's a good place to go for a couple of drinks during happy hours and relive your university days! :)
Used the top room for our works Xmas do, a really big versatile space. The staff were lovely, although not always available in the planning stages of the event and often had to be chased to confirm things. They let us create our own buffet menu rather than go with their party option, set up a bar tab and create our own vouchers instead of using their own and bring in our own DJ who could bring in their own equipment or use the venues at no extra cost - really very accommodating. A great night was had by all the staff - particularly enjoyed the two for one cocktails happy hour which went on until 20.00!
Called in with the Mrs for a swift beer, decided to have a bite to eat, I ordered the Steak, I was rather shocked by the quality of the meat & the standard of the service, it was brilliant, the steak was cooked perfect to my liking, & tasted as good as any I've eaten at gaucho grill. I will be popping in for another very soon.
If you are into Vodka, This is the best place for that; its not the usual cheap commercial vodka with a Russian name served in other bars or sold in stores.
I recommend you try super-premium vodka brand Wyborowa Exquisite with fresh orange juice garnished with a slice of orange or orange wheel (Screwdriver cocktail). The vodka is produced from a single variety of premium rye, Dankowskie Zlote Zyto (Dankowskie Golden Rye) which is grown on an estate near Poznan in western Poland. Exquisite taste!
This is the original and, in my opinion, the best Revolution in Manchester. Call me a sentimental old bag but walking through the doors takes me back to Monday nights in the late 90s. My friend and I would head to Rev, buy a pitcher, buy 6 extra shots, put the 6 extra shots in the pitcher, drink it and then head to the Ritz down the road for some serious rock action.
It may not be the fanciest Revolution in the world. It may not be the biggest Revolution in the world. But it's my Revolution and I still love it.
Good value.
Food was excellent, especially the pizza.
Vibe was pleasant and relaxing.
The wait for the food was longer than expected.
We got 2 cocktails which looked great but didnt taste of much.
Overall I would recommend for a lunch time option if you're in the area.
good food,good service 2 for 1 cocktails,approx 11 quid for 2.
nice pizza, great loaded nachos
Went for pre-booked bottomless brunch and had a great time! Service was fantastic, drinks & food were delicious. Atmosphere was great, music was just loud enough so we could have a conversation. 10/10 would definitely recommend and will definitely be visiting again soon
Incredible price-quality nexus. Friendly staff and lots of choices. Definitely, will come back.
Posting on here because the cocktails are bloody incredible! All the staff incredibly nice too! Give a shout-out and a raise to the nice lad who served us Jack, he just went above and beyond with all of us and he seems to know his stuff!! Cheers Jack and the rest of the wonderful Revolution team, expect me back all bank holiday! ;)
Had a lovely time. The atmosphere was incredible, staff so friendly, especially Jack. He was very polite and knowledgeable on all the cocktails. Will definitely be coming again!!
Across two different visits there were two quite different experiences.
The first visit was during the evening, we had a great gentleman help us since the app wasn't working correctly. Sorted out our food order and was friendly each time he brought drinks around, talking to us about stuffed animals and stuff.
Our second experience was for lunch, we ordered on the app and just ordered fries. While other two other tables (that came in after us and were being given gift bags) were getting their food ahead of us, we waited over half an hour just to get one small portion of fries.
Great place to pop in for food and drinks before an event.
Drinks are good and quick to arrive, and the soft drinks were brilliant value with the soda and lime being only £1 for a large glass. The food was tasty and plentiful. Our table asked for mayo which didn't come but wasn't a huge problem as the meals came with other sauces.
Appreciate we visited on a Saturday evening, but did find music a little loud so was having to talk really loudly to hear each other.
Would happily visit again.
Staff were lovely I realised there was no vegan cheese pizza option on app but the man working said he would check and was able to put through an order for us! Was very happy as I just arrived in Manchester and was very hungry and didn’t wanna leave to go find another place for food! We ended up staying for drinks after as well
We came here for the quiz night on Tuesday, food was incredible and drinks were amazing. Jack behind the bar was amazing, cocktails were lovely!
I went to revolution twice and everytime it gives me suprise.
The first time I went there because MUAS held a karaoke activity there and I was suprised by their friendly bartender and their awesome drinks. I was not too hungry that day so I tried a corn dog, it was delicious! Since then I want to try make it myself but because I am so lazy so I give up this idea.
Second time I went there was because I tant to celebrate the end of exam season with my friend. We had some really good time singing in the bar and tried some weird drink--I would never try that again, I paid for my curiousity. Every flavor was a torture to me but that is because we ordered "weird and wonderful" collection. ALL NORMAL DRINKS ARE GREAT. I would definatly recommend this place to my friends.
Cocktail master class with Grace & Sophie was amazing! So much fun with the rest of the hens! Hospitality was spot on wonderful time! Thank you girls! 🖤🖤
Came for the quiz night and Jack looked after us at the bar. He was brilliant and down to earth. Make sure you get Jack to serve you if you come here! Brilliant barman!
Lunch date with my 2 daughters. I enjoyed the cocktails and my daughters enjoyed their mocktails too! Food and service is excellent!
Visited back when we all you could do in bars was sit and bum shuffle in your seats because #Covid.
Still had a fantastic atmosphere, drinks were on point and so was the music. For those of us that enjoy a good Revs.
Stopped in here for dinner, had the mother clucker and gotta say it was pretty good. For pub type food it was tasty. Cocktails were decent. Got a free Cocktail using the app which was great. They take Amex which is a bonus aswell.
