i wanted to try food from currymile before i left to go back to the states and we chose this place as it was large enough for 8 people to a table & still fit comfortably and the atmosphere was lively so it didn't feel too uncomfortable to have big conversations!
it was a few of us's first time but we were recommended the curry dishes by a particular friend that's been here before! i wanted to try lentils so i opted for daal tarka with medium spice level! it was my first time try pilau rice as well and it was super good--soft and fluffy! the portions were large so overall for the price, it was worth it!
the rest of us shared amongst themselves w sides of rice and drinks! the sea bass looked really yummy as well! i was very satisfied with this being my last meal in manchester until then next time!
the service was really nice and was easy to talk to! the food came out fairly quickly and all together so it really did a nice job! it's a nice place for friends, family, and even for more romantic duos!
It's hard to find a desi restaurant that serves good food and had nice décor. My Lahore knocks it out of the park with both. Their customer service skills lack a bit but the food makes up for it. I don't find the food to be authentic but they don't claim their food is authentic either but more of a UK/PK fusion. I got the chicken burger with fries which was really tasty but the bun was very soggy so I had to remove the bottom half before I could attempt to eat it. The fries were ok. My cousin tried the fish burger and said that it was really tasty. We also got some falooda but it was just okay. A couple of us also ordered the garlic cheese naan to go but I wish we ate it there because by the time we got to it, the butter was soaked in the bread which made it really salty.
Prices are a bit expensive if compared to the rest of the restaurants on this street but this one is deff. the most clean and well decorated out of all of them.
To be good Indian/Pakistani restaurant in the middle of Curry Mile, you have to stand out, and boy do they stand out. As soon as you walk in, the decor transports you to another place. The place is lit by an eclectic group of lights of different shapes and colors, and the walls are covered with sensory overloading posters and color.
The service is superb as well! The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is allergy-friendly, in that they list all common allergens next to every item and the staff makes sure all of your allergen needs are attended to.
The food was A-OK. It wasn't the greatest Indian (or Indo-Chinese) food I've had, but it was pretty tasty! I had the vegetable stir fry, which is much more than just soy sauce, and the vegetable panini, where the vegetables are grilled with masala before assembling the sandwich. Both options were great! I also had a strawberry mint mocktail which was sweet and sour, crisp and refreshing. If you're hankering for some Indian food that has a fusion twist, I'd definitely stop by!
10/10 worth a visit! Curry is made to your degree of spice which I like. I've had the mild and the hot and both were full of flavour. The naan was light and delicious. The staff are so welcoming and attentive.
My god. That was one of the best meals (not just Pakistani / Indian) that I have had in quite a while. The decor is super fun...but the food is no joke. I would highly recommend the palak paneer, butter chicken and cheesy garlic naan. Don't sleep on this spot. It's worth the wait!
I finally made it to My Lahore, after many recommendations. Its clearly the busiest restaurant in Rusholme. And rightly so. Great food, great prices and great service. All served in an alcohol free environment which gives things a different twist to what I'm used to.
On arrival, we were advised of a 25 minute wait for a table, which was a very accurate prediction. Rather than sit in the holding pen at the front of the restaurant we took a walk down Wilmslow Road for a while. Nowhere was as busy as My Lahore.
I ordered a meat samosa for a starter, which came with a fresh side salad. The samosas tasted very fresh with the most delicious minced mutton. For my main I ordered a Chicken Madras with boiled rice and naan bread. Wait, my dish is named after a city in India, and I'm in a restaurant named after a city in Pakistan. I guess thats inclusive! The waiter did warn me that the Chicken Madras would be very hot, which I'm okay with. It was hot, and delicious.
This place is not all about curry sauces though. The menu is quite varied. There are also steaks and grills. If you're in a group and theres always that one person who doesn't like spicy food, they even have 'continental' dishes such as lasagne and Shepherd's pie.
Service was very prompt and friendly. What I did like was that a chef came from the kitchen to ask us if the food was okay (it was), and also the manager came over to ask if the service was okay (it was).
The portion sizes were fairly generous. I couldn't finish all my food, there was enough for another meal, so took it home for lunch the next day!
I was too full to be able to manage a stodgy dessert. The menu has some British 'back to school' classics such as apple pie and jam roly poly!
I had a great experience at My Lahore and will definitely be back. I enjoyed it much more than I had hoped, and the lack of alcohol somehow enhanced the experience which took me by surprise. Probably because the atmosphere was different, and better.
I've only picked up a delivery from here for a sibling and haven't really had the pleasure of tasting their food but two things suggest it might be sensational.
Firstly I've heard first hand that this is authentic Lahori food and has a home cooked taste to it. That's a bold statement since many would argue that Lahore, which is in the heart of punjab (which is like the Rome of the entire region) is famed for its cuisine.
Secondly a simple fact I observed first hand, it's packed 7 days a week!! In fact I'd go as far as to say, when it comes to Rusholme it's possibly the busiest place on the entire strip at the weekend. Which perhaps is a downside and could potentially put most people off dining here. It's very loud and busy and I lost count of how many staff they have on the floor as a result. However I doubt this would hurt the sensibilities of a real foodie.
On a different note the desserts also look incredible. So much so I'm pretty sure the girl in front of me in the queue nearly fainted as the waiter took one of the gigantic Sundaes to a table.
Updated review coming soon....
This is one of my favorite places in Manchester. I live in Texas but make every effort to find MyLahore when in the UK. The food is always amazing and my experiences here have always been terrific. The staff is amazing and quick and provide great recommendations. The management definitely knows how to run this place and take care of everyone. STRONGLY RECOMMEND VISITING!!!
Super service, quality & value
A dry restaurant, very family friendly.
Quickly becoming my first choice on the curry mile. Hope you'll be overwhelmed by quality service like we always are:)
I came here with my boyfriend around 8 pm and we had to wait for 5 to 10 minutes to be seated but I didn't mind at all because the restaurant was quite lively and the menu card had nice choices of international and Asian dishes.
Starter:
1) Fish Pakura for £2.95 and they were tasty, flaky cod fish 4 to 5 big pieces marinated in special spicy batter & deep fried.
2) Chicken Tortilla Strips for £2.95 (Chargrilled shredded chicken with onions, peppers & melting mozzarella cheese) 4 medium sized pieces but I must say they were a aaaaaahmazing ;)
Main Course:
I went for a butter chicken (Asian dish) with pilau rice. The portions were quite big and I was surprised by the authentic taste. I loved my dish and i was happily to leave a tip after an impeccable service.
Venue: Multicultural, vibrant and quite a colourful ambiance.
This as always been my favourite resturant on the curry mile, any excuse
to go as i have been hundreds of times.lol!
inside you are greeted by a pleasant door man and made to seat down while you wait for a available table which could be upto twenty minuets.
inside its nicely decorated but never get a table near the door other wise you freeze to death.
The menu as a good choice of food from indian to chinese and english food
curries are very big portions compared to other places and you fairly stuffed even to think about having a dessert ,but if you do have a dessert then your in heaven as they come huge with either ice cream or custard.
prices are very good value from around £2.40 for a starter to around £6-7 for a curry.
The staff are pleasent and friendly and service is excellent.
my main other reason for going here is have never ever had a bad stomach
the next day and that counts for a lot!
This is a 5* for their takeaway service, which is the best Indian takeaway in Manchester, and I have tried most of them. I have ordered from here many times- it mostly arrives quickly, the food is always consistent. The Palak Paneer is delicious. However their meat curries can have very dry meat- they need to cook it less. When sat piping hot in a container for 10-15 minutes the meat is going to cook even longer.
Was ridiculously popular with Asian families and groups at 11pm on a Saturday night. Great service, decent curries and reasonable prices. Interior décor is a bit plasticy for my tastes and be warned they don't have an alcohol licence.
lovely food, but the thing is you are waiting uo to 1hr for a table as you cant book ahead which is a shame!
Visiting My Lahore for our special occasion was the best decision. It's hard to find some good authentic curries in a foreign land. I'm wondering why we did not go here before. Anyways, we tried the Chicken Malai Tikka (5/5) it was soft and juicy. Then we ordered Chicken Seekh Kebab (5/5) this was amazing with that perfect spice of chillies in that grounded meat. We then ordered Mutton Achari Karahi (5/5) which was mind blowing, the meat was succulent and tartness to the achari was just right, paired with Tandoori roti, garlic naan and plain naan. The naan has that nice khameeri taste to it which also makes it soft. To finish off we ordered the Falooda, now this broke my heart and would rate only (1/5).
The restaurant is not only popular among Asians but as it has a take on British dishes, a lot of locals love visiting here.
The service was very friendly, staff very well trained. Our server Mohammad is a lovely chap and made sure our food was served on time. Will definitely visit again.
Spacious restaurant, authentic and spicy, portion size is good and reasonable prices. Will definitely visit again. Another plus point is that parking is easy to find in the area behind the main street.
The staff are always so accommodating and friendly
Wonderful service from every single person and the food is outstanding
Whenever I am craving Lamb chops I come here!
Never enough room for a dessert so I always make sure I take one home as they are exceptional!
First time trying here as heard good things.
I have to say that in terms of attentive service, I don't think I've been anywhere quite as good.
Our waiter Nadeem was fantastic, picking up on little things to improve our meal (such as spotting that a spoon for my young son would help with his rice), or bringing a separate straw with my drink just in case I fancied it (but also carrying the straw with a napkin).
Lots of small but top notch details.
I think even the owner came over for a chat which was lovely too.
Also the speed of everything was just as good. Food turnaround was lightning quick.
The food itself was delicious, got a mixed starter and a curry. The combo platter should probably have a spice warning. I love spice so wasn't an issue for me but most of it was too spicy for my son.
The naan was really delicious and didn't go crispy like some poor ones can after cooling (I like to dip).
Again Nadeem spotted I'd run out and got me another naan almost instantly!
Molton cake dessert was delicious too. Would definitely recommend and would go again.
Always like going there with friends and family. Great food. Love the decorations. In busy times the environment is not much comfortable inside. But it’s all worth it. Foods are in affordable range. Service is good as well. Would love to go there again.
Nice cosy restaurant where you feel good. The service is very helpful and if you are there for the first time they will advise you on everything. The food was fabulous, very good flavours, the nan bread dough was great and fluffy. Definitely one of the Indian restaurants worth visiting if you go around.
I had a delightful dining experience at MyLahore in Manchester. The restaurant's cleanliness and retro decor provided a pleasant ambiance. Qasim's exceptional customer service added to the positive experience. The mushroom starter with homemade sauce was a standout, boasting unique and delicious flavors. While the chicken Parmesan was well-presented, it differed from expectations. The bolognaise became a highlight after the addition of cheese, making it incredibly tasty. An inclusive feature was the ground floor setup, including wheelchair-accessible toilets, and the provision of a prayer room catered to my Muslim faith. Overall, a satisfying visit with a blend of excellent service and diverse offerings.
We recently had a delightful dinner at Lahore Manchester, an amazing Pakistan restaurant in the heart of Lahore. The four of us were treated to an exceptional selection of homemade dishes that left our taste buds dancing with joy.
The Nihari was a standout, rich in flavor and perfectly cooked. The samosa selection provided a crispy and flavorful start to our meal, showcasing the chef's expertise in crafting authentic Pakistani appetizers. The mix grill was a carnivore's delight, offering a diverse array of succulent meats expertly grilled to perfection.
The teas served were a delightful accompaniment, enhancing the overall dining experience. The Dhal was a comforting and well-seasoned addition to our feast.
One aspect that pleasantly surprised us was the reasonable pricing. Despite the high quality and variety of dishes, the bill was surprisingly wallet-friendly, making our dining experience even more satisfying.
The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall charm, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly, contributing to the positive vibe of the place.
In conclusion, Lahore Manchester is a gem for those seeking an authentic taste of Pakistan in a welcoming setting. The combination of exceptional homemade dishes, reasonable prices, and attentive service makes it a must-visit. Our dining experience was nothing short of amazing, and we look forward to returning for more culinary delights. Highly recommended!
Went around 5.15pm on a Sunday was very busy, was told 25-30min wait, but didn’t mind as I know the food is worth it, table of 4 with 2 kids, staff very polite and respectful, was sat on our table 25 mins later, was given menus 10mins later a staff member came to take our order he was very helpful and informative had starters and kids meals following a handi with Naan, was very impressed with food and presentation as usual never disappoint, the mutton chops a little tough, had. Grilled fish and my daughter absolutely loved it, the fish was so meaty and cooked to perfection nice portion too, the staff were available all the time considering they were very busy, and to top it off their toilets are kept to a clean standard, parking is available but with a charge we paid £6 for 3 hours glad we did
The staff were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious couldn't fault it at all
Great food - Plenty of options, something for everyone. Arrived quickly. Taste delicious.
I got the spaghetti and king prawn stir fry noodles to go and my friend got the chicken parmasean. I tried a bit of everything - All three were tasty!
Host was friendly.
My server was Asif Ali - lovely and very helpful!
Atmosphere was great! Will be back soon
A must try place for sure :)
Amazing service, love the atmosphere. People make you feel comfortable and special. Food was great as always.
The red velvet cake I recently savored was a true delight! Its vibrant color and velvety texture were a feast for the senses. Moist, tangy, and adorned with creamy ice cream, each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures. If you're in the mood for a decadent treat that's sure to impress, this red velvet cake is a must-try! 8.5/10
The food and service were both equally outstanding. Terrific ambiance and really like the retro decorations. Menu affordably priced and a diverse offering, and the food turnaround was rapidly quick. The meat lasagne, papri chaat and fish pakoras are our personal favourites. Well done, MyLahore!
We visited MyLahore for a family lunch and it was fantastic. It had a really warm, welcoming vibe. The staff were attentive and it filled up quickly! The menu is huge, so much to choose from. We ordered dishes from different sections of the menu and everything was so tasty, and so reasonably priced! I had the salmon, it was delicious and beautifully presented. We will definitely be back.
Came to MyLahore in Manchester for a quick meal with my Mum and sister, so pleased I came here! The service is on point and the food is absolutely 10/10! The manager Shaf is very kind and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal, our waiter Kashif was great and explained the dishes well and told us what to get. All in all, a great place for some proper fresh food, piping hot throughout and the tastiest dishes ever!!!
We have been coming here for years, the atmosphere is amazing and the food never disappoints, big shout out to Shaf, Sufyn, Qasim, Uwais, Mohammad, Zak and all the staff (wish I could name them all) they are all so friendly, polite, welcoming and hard working.
