Cheap accommodation which was clean and in a good location. The bar area was undergoing a refurb so first impressions were not good. The restaurant was full and I can understand why because the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly

Nice rooms, comfortable beds. Would be excellent for families as rooms are family oriented. Priced way better than some chains , offers better overall experience. Dont be put off by that it is a pub.

UPDATE. I just stayed 3 nights (July 2023). WONDERFUL again. Food and sleep truly excellent. GREAT place to stay in the Midlands and easy to get to as its just off the A5. I kind of fell in to this place when I visted mates in the Midlands in March, cos the rooms were very reasonably priced and I needed a place for 3 nights. Only when I sat in the bar and asked for a beer I realized that the beer was er made in house. The Sperrin brothers own two pubs, this one plus the nearby Lord Nelson where they also run a brewery. I was convinced at the first pint of wonderful draught beer!!!! I also purchased a selection of bottles to take home and the lovely barmaid also gave me two Sperrin glasses!!!! I will return for sure ALSO because the food is fantastic!!!!

Great service from the table serving staff Food is always good and fresh tasting. I ordered the lasagne on this occasion, but the dish was not as good as other dishes I have tried. This might be due to it being a pre-prepared dish. Not sure.

Had a meal here on a busy Saturday lunch time. The staff were very friendly and food was served really quick given that there were a lot of people in. The food itself was beautiful, I opted for the lamb shank which was divine. Would highly recommend here for quality and value for money.

My first time. Will definitely be going again. Lovely atmosphere. Fabulous menu on Mother's Day. The food is excellent. Friendly and efficient staff. Highly recommended. They did grilled fish on Tuesdays. Can't wait. Enjoy 🙂

Been for the set three course lunch today. (Sunday) Good menu choices as well as 3 different roast meat options. Clean well kept dining room. Had the fish and chips which were superb. Very generous portions. A lovely experience no rush service. Loved it.

The main cousre could have done with being hotter. The table we were on l kept getting bumped by people and staff going through to serve other tables. Mothers day menu was good value for money 3 courses around £30 each and that included our drinks x
