Lovely gardens and grounds. Nice walk out to the Chapel. Plenty of bluebells at the moment. Lots of pools and running water. No access to the house but the cafe and staff are excellent. Superb bacon sandwich and great range of cakes.
Fantastic gardens, real hidden gem that we happened upon almost by accident as we're not local to the area. Wonderful grounds, peaceful and exceptionally planted and maintained. The café was pretty good too so all-in-all, you'll not be disappointed.
What a beautiful place to visit yes £8.50 a adult unless a member, but we'll worth it we are National trust members ,but this place takes some beatings, there is a cafe etc, but we took a picnic lunch, its so beautiful, I enclose some photos,
Excellent day out. Plenty to enjoy walking in the gardens. First class tearoom as well, if you don't want to take a picnic! Well worth a visit, especially on a day like today. 👍🏻
I went to the plant fair here because entrance was about half price - just as well. The fair wasn't up to much, but I daresay arriving an hour or so after opening meant the best stuff had gone.
First impressions of the pools and surrounding walks were favourable. The gardens were disappointing.
Stunning summer walks around several gardens in the grounds of the 'Castle' which although beautiful isn't a medieval castle, more a stately home themed as a castle. The rose garden and ponds really were the highlights. Highly recommended
They need signs from the main roads as I circled around and went past it couple times, but it was lovely once we got there! Rose garden was wonderful and friendly peacock was a lovely bonus. More info on plant species would be nice too.
We found it a very relaxing day roaming through the beautiful gardens. Such a wonderful array of plants with seasonal blossoms. Cafe is a welcome break for snacks & drinks. Castle under renovation with scaffolding. Spent 4 hours but will be back as lots more to explore. Worth ever star.
