We ate dinner here last night and it was top class, really good. Not one of us (6 of us including 4 fussy teens) was disappointed, every course was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place and if you're organised, book the nest table for a guaranteed awesome view.

Lovely pub, great food, stunning views. Had a lovely family meal and then enjoyed the beautiful view outside with a hot drink. Thought it was a nice touch that they also provided blankets and sunglasses to use for outside :)

Great food, lovely view, friendly staff, what's not to like. Quite sheltered sitting on the verandah and a great view. We had the fish sandwich and veggie burger, very nice.

Lovely part of the country... I left Truro and got more and more impressed with the view and scenery... Arrived at the Heron and mightily impressed .. easily pay £12 for a full English in my town for a indistinguishable plate of food but here was good to great food. Very impressed gorgeous location will be back. Edit: I did return and went early again same as before the time we waited a long time for food which came out cold my poached eggs were cold which for me makes them not edible. I did raise the issue, the bar staff offered to cook another but we had things to do and had already dedicated enough time to the breakfast part of my day. It was disappointing but all else remains lovely location, good produce. I will go again this time will ask upfront for heat and allow more time.

Lovely pub grub - mainly. We had the fish platter which was generally very good- the whitebait was overcooked. We also ordered the Cornish scallops to accompany it. For £12 we got three very small scallops in their shells. The dressing was tasty but the portion was very poor value. The staff are really nice and I couldn't fault the service. I love the picture showing the mileage to local suppliers

Lovely meal and drink on a Saturday night. Can't fault the portion size and the staff were amazing. So good, we popped back the next day for a cheeky pint.

Worth 4 stars for the view alone. Excellent breakfasts and whilst the service was a little slow (we weren't in a hurry anyway) the people were lovely. Thought the fry up was a little overpriced, then it turned up and I can call confidently say it was worth every penny! Parking was a bit of a pain, and nervous drivers/owners of big cars might want to think about a walk up as the road is pretty tight and we had to park 5 mins down the road. If you're in Truro, it's a no brainer.

Exquisite establishment, highly recommended. Locally sourced fresh food (there is a board that advertises how many miles the food has travelled, generally less than 20) of the highest quality combines to make some delicious dishes, many of which are seafood based. Specials menu and cocktails are available, as well as st austell brewery beers and ciders. Very well priced for high end meals like this. Service is exceptional, food arrives quickly, you are attentively and proactively checked to see if new drinks are required, etc. Stunning location on the estuary, outdoor, covered and heated seating is available. The car park fits 8x cars absolute maximum so plan your trip and peak times, there is some on road parking as well but again can be busy.

We were staying in Malpas so what a wonderful surprise to find that the Heron was on our doorstep. The beer, wine and food were all excellent. We ate on 3 occasions and each time it was delicious. There's a great selection of vegan and vegetarian meals as well as superb local fish. Its the amazing friendly attentive staff that made this the end of the day stop off for us, most days!. Alfie, our working cocker, loved this place and the attention he was given by the fab staff. We cannot wait to visit again. Thank you for helping to make our stay so memorable

Friendly staff, we had a BLT sandwich on granary bread with a small side salad and crisps, delicious. Sat outside on the river side, beautifully peaceful and the view is wonderful. Definitely recommend a visit 👌
