We arrived in Mallaig on the steam train just as the heavens opened today, we were absolutely soaked and didn't have time to look around but fortunately for us we ended up at The Tea Garden. We took the last 2 seats, sitting at the side of the bar, I would have accepted anywhere at that moment. The staff were excellent, polite and friendly, we were served very quickly and we had the nicest fish and chips I've ever tasted. Would recommend this place.

In 2010 my wife to be and i sat at the same table we had this week. Have to say the food and drink was just as good now as it was then and the staff just as welcoming and kind. Very dog friendly by the way; water bowls brought to the table before we even had a chance to ask.

Visited during a busy Easter break on the day when Jacobite did a trip. Ordered half-pint prawn tail and fish and chips. Had to pay at the till while ordering. Food was served relatively quickly. This was my first try of the prawn tails. The texture was perfect and the salad dip was quite tasty. The fish was battered well with the right amount of flour and it was not too oily. Seating was well spaced out and doesn't feel cramped.

I had the Cullen Skink Soup and the Kids Fish Chips. Food came super fast (we've ordered the via app) The staff was super friendly even if we came on a busy time. The restaurant is opened only for Lunches unfortunatlly. The food was soo good!!!😊A pleasant surprise as we didn't expect it. Cullen Skink Soup totally recommended !!!🥰

It was windy, cold and rainy.. but the Tea Garden was well equipped for this (it is Scotland). We choose to sit outside on the front porch, it was enclosed and had heaters so the wind and rain was not an issue at all. This place sees a huge surge of tourists when the train comes in and they deal with the crowd very well. We were part of the crowd of course. I would recommend if you plan to enjoy their fair you should come directly here from the train and don't "Look around for a bit and then eat" as it will be full and you will be turned away. All of our dishes were top quality and the service was always with a smile. 13/10 would go there again.

Lovely food, excellent and efficient staff who dealt with a lunchtime post jacobite rush with ease and professionalism. Didn't have to order on an app - went up to the till. Very busy but food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Salad was especially tasty. Pricing a little expensive, but in line with a tourist spot and pricing nowadays. Would recommend.

This was right up there with the best fish and chips I’ve ever tasted, and I’ve tried a few! Succulent fish, light batter, absolutely delicious, and you can’t get any more fresh, the harbour is 50 meters away, you can see it from the veranda. Friendly, helpful staff, dog friendly.

Visited on a Thursday in Oct just 30mins before taking the train - service was incredibly quick (food was out maybe 5mins after we ordered!) and everything was delicious. Lots of great sandwich options, soup, hot mains, and delicious cakes. Plenty of room for seating, even larger groups.

Great food (fish and chips are amazing in this place - so succulent and full of flavour may mean only one - locally sourced!). The fish soup is so good that kids could not get enough of it. All potato salads were really, really tasty - personally, especially the prawns one. On top of everything, very friendly and attentive staff. Certainly a place to have a family lunch or dinner, especially if you manage to get hold of a table in front of a real fire place.

Food was delicious. We were sat outside but as soon as it started raining the staff very quickly offered us in indoor table and carried our food and all our bags inside for us. Exceptionally helpful and caring staff

Stopped in for food on our tour of west of Scotland 17th and 18th Aug 2023. I had haddock and chips my girl freind grilled haddock with new potatoes, ordered a Cullen Skink soup for her to try. The service and the food was outstanding. We went back for Cullen skink the second day to take away and loved it. Wonderfull food and the sea food menues are all fresh caught local food. Highly recomended.
