We popped in on the off chance of a lunchtime table and were promptly seated by the window with a lovely harbour view. We had the most glorious (though a tad pricey) scallops to start, then between us, Cullen Skink, scampi, mussels and langoustines. The quality of the seafood was excellent and they did childs portions of the soup and the langoustines on request. Service was prompt and friendly, so a 10% tip was in order. Overall excellent, but one or two minor niggles...the side salad is a bit dull, couple of leaves of iceberg, grated carrot, no dressing, and the bread is clearly shop bought baguettes, homemade would have been so much better. Would recommend.

Stellar service. Went in the middle of December against everyone telling me I was nuts for going to Mallaig at that time. Half frozen up I almost ordered Fish & Chips until the staff recommended me to go for the Pan Fried Monkfish in Creamy Coconut Curry. Wasn't disappointed. Well done!

Outstanding lunch and gluten free! I thoroughly enjoyed the clam & prawn chowder-- delicious with an incredible gluten-free bun. My husband loved the haddock pie. Great wine and beer options and wonderful service! Great prices too!

Great food. Absolutely delicious smoked haddock pie and cranachan for desert. The service was perfect - got served quickly but the two servers were really friendly. There were only a couple of tables filled tonight, so the atmosphere wasn't exactly buzzing, but it felt like a friendly, comfortable place that I'd be really happy to visit again.

the portions are big and make us totally full, so it’s good based on value for money. their toffe sticky pudding is great! sweet enough but not too much, warm, and served with ice cream, totally fab. their staffs is great as well, very accommodating.

Excellent seafood restaurant. We arrived just before the Jacobite train arrived, 5 mins later it was full so get your timing right or book. We treated ourselves to the seafood platter for 2 at £80. It was fantastic served with bread and salad 2 halves of lobster, 8 langoustin and a mountain of mussels all beautifully cooked. Service was friendly and efficient. We would thoroughly recommend the Fish market restaurant

Fabulous 🤩 Don’t let the unassuming interior put you off, the service was very good and the food was exceptional. We had mussels to share as a starter, they were succulent and the white wine sauce was delicious. We followed with the Dover sole and the seared scallops with prawns and chorizo in a langoustine sauce, delicious!! Not cheap but worth every penny 😊

I actually just went for fresh smoked salmon, went twice as I ate the first one I was taking home for a friend lol. It was so freshly smoked that I had to go back an hour later as it hadn't cooled to the proper temperature for sealing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Gets a big thumbs up from me.

We visited the Fishmarket Restaurant in August on our stay in Mallaig. The food was absolutely amazing and the service 2nd to none. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. I had the langoustine which was so tasty, definitely be back.

Quite liked the option to have lightly battered fish. Food was good, nothing special but hit the spot. We had two lovely waiters who made us feel very welcome.
