Had lunch with my wife today. Excellent Pie and Mash. As good as many of the more famous London establishments. My only disappointment was that they had sold out of Jellied Eels. A great shame that it closing for good on July 29th 🥲

When my friend visits from Australia we always head foe the pie and mash shop. Unfortunately, it is closing down on Saturday due to lack of business. You never know what you had until it's gone!!!!

I found a parking spot fifty yards away so very fortunate on a Saturday . The whole London east end feeling is captured in here . It’s worth mentioning the price which was very reasonable for lovely pies and liquor . The mash was good as well . Very much worth a visit

I go in there every week with my dad, such nice staff and great overall experience. Brilliant food only downfall to this pie and mash is you'll be craving more in 2 hours(talking from experience) best pie and mash in Essex and great customer service

Really great traditional East End food. Great ambiance and great liquor really thick and tasty. Lovely pies, filling really nice, slightly different than you get at Kelly's in the East end but it's good to see them putting their own stamp on it. I loved it. Traditional tiled walls, really felt like I was in Bethnal green. Lovely.

Having grown up in east London, and now living in Essex I've missed a good bit of pie mash. This place is fantastic and no different from the east London shops. Staff are great and pies taste amazing. What more could you want?

My mum loved Cookes at Dalston junction in the East End as a child. Now veggie and living in Maldon, she introduced me to pie and mash here. We phone in advance and ask for veggie pies to be cooked fresh and really enjoy the basic surroundings and the tasty, but traditional meal - just as it should be. Nothing wrong with this place and the staff have always been helpful and friendly. We have been coming here for years and hope to for many more.

The pie and mash were good. I am not a fan of the liquor but they apparently have gravey instead. They had ran out of eels so I missed out on this. This place is living history and I am glad that I was able to visit.

If you want traditional pie and mash (and you're near Maldon), then this is the place. Tasty food, liquor or gravy (chips available for heathens). Nice cup of tea. You can even get eels, though why anyone would want to is beyond me. Parking in Maldon Car park opposite.

Grub is top drawer, the deco looks like its straight out of Brick Lane. They also do salted beef from Brick Lane, can't go wrong in my opinion. Good price too.
