Although it has changed names a few times, this place has been around since before I can even remember. I’ve been coming here ever since I was a young boy (almost 3 decades) and the quality has NEVER failed. I had the large cod and chips, and my sister (vegetarian) had the ‘cheese fry it’ which is sort of a cheese hash brown deep fried. The food is always freshly cooked, the fish is always nice and crispy whilst staying succulent and moist inside, and the chips are absolutely GODLY. My sister loves the ‘fry its’, apparently the best choice for the veggies among us. This is by far the best chippy in Kent, and definitely the best I’ve ever experienced. In terms of seating, it’s quite a petite place so you may have trouble getting a seat if you come at peak lunch hours, but I’ve never actually had a problem as I believe they also have an upstairs section.
The prices are very reasonable considering the superior quality and good portions, and the service is friendly and very quick. We only waited about 6-7 minutes for the food to arrive which was perfect.
If you’re going to Maidstone and you love a good chippy lunch/tea, there’s no excuse- get down to the Deep Blue!

When we entered the premises we were greeted with a warm welcome by Steven and a very nice cashier lady (whose name I didn’t get). We ate in, and got 2 large cods, chips and battered pigs in blanket with gravy.
It was the best food that I have ever had and would highly recommend to anyone. They also do takeaways.
Great fish and chips - not the cheapest, but they say quality comes at a price. My father and his partner treated me to plaice,chips and mushy peas - and it was delicious ! Service was reasonably quick and the wait gave us a chance to chat with our cups of tea while we eagerly waited. I have fond memories of being brought here as a child by my mother when it was called The Seven Seas, the "oldy worldy" feel is still present - just lovely !
The deep fried pigs and blankets (with gravy) was a brilliant twist on a festive treat. Very moreish. The fish, chips and pies were as excellent as always. Best chips in town!

Very good food . I ordered a Southern Fried Chicken Burger that was very tasty and well done . I will definetly recomend and go back .
Was welcome in by a young man called Stephen and a lady at till . Was given fantastic service and offered a great deal on pigs in blanket in batter. Was best fish abd chips ever and service excellent.
Overpriced chips so hard you couldn't get the fork in, the fish was very good, staff nothing to write home about, didn't see anyone in charge so felt like I would be wasting me time complaining. We always went there for lunch every time we visited Maidstone, looks like we will have to find somewhere else to have lunch from now on.

And was impressed it was an 100% improvement on our last visit food and staff spot on.
Had a great experience the other day. Ordered halloumi bites and a medium cod, really nice, bit too much to eat. Great experience, friendly staff. Was a bit cold in the restaurant, but luckily I was by the heater.
Amazing service as always!! Stephen was fantastic and the food was delicious. New pigs in blankets need to stay!!!

My first visit for many years and was surprised that it was not very busy. However, the food was freshly cooked - the cod was fresh not frozen and the batter light and crispy - perfect. Senior portions are just right, and a very reasonable price. The only criticism is tea, not so good, hot but bland - almost ok.
GREAT fish and chips for reasonable price! And the service was just lovely. I recommend it!
