I am caeliac so gluten free. They had a gluten free menu which was nice to have. ( some thing quite simple but unfortunately quote rare when you eat out) it was lovely food and reasonably priced. I would certainly recommend .
Love this place staff are all lovely and friendly and the food is always fab and good portion sizes defo recommend for a nice lunch with friends or a fab night out
Went to the Valentine's meal last night. (Disclaimer - the wife won it through their Facebook competition) the food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was nice, with no screaming kids running around. The Poppyfields is our restaurant of choice anyway. If anything was bad, I would have mentioned it (even though we won last night's meal) but it wasn't. We like the Marston brand (Lincoln Poacher and The Elms when we're away from home) and have never had a bad meal. And a big thank you too Deanna for the wonderful service.
I stopped of at the poppy Feilds on my way down to Dover in my wagon.The place is lovely very clean The food was nice and the staff very friendly.Would definitely recommend.And will definitely call in again if I am passing through
Went there for my Mums birthday. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere, food was very good. It's always reasonably price. Staff are friendly. I would recommend. Thank you.
I came for Friday night dinner with friends, the car park was fairly busy but managed to get a spot as other people were leaving. Decent amount disabled spaces, and there are even electric charge points!
Service was excellent, staff were really friendly and helpful and the food came out reasonably quickly.
I had the duo of chicken balotine and pork belly with seasonal vegetables, mash potatoes, and gravy from the specials menu. Although it didn't look like a large portion because of the plate, it came close to filling me up. Flavours were really good too so I would recommend this one.
For dessert I had the chocolate fudge brownie, it started off good, but not sure if due to how cold it was the ice cream just didn't taste quite right to me, which is a shame as I was looking forward to that.
Prices for mains are around £13-16 unless you're getting grill items, and desserts were around £6-8.
On a side note, although I didn't have it, my friend had fish and chips and that looked excellent!
Went out this evening with my parents and it was incredible! I’m gluten intolerant and the allergen friendly menu is full of yummy options! I had olives to start with and there chicken and chorizo kebab 🤤 I could also eat dessert too! Recommend you go here for amazing food and a friendly experience!! What a beautiful pub/restaurant!
I hadn't been here before so I didn't know what to expect. I just popped in for my morning coffee but will definitely go back and try the food.
I would recommend it to friends and family.
Can't fault this pub! The interior is relaxed and comfortable but stylish! The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The foods delish and very well priced! The cocktails are spot on, coming from someone who has worked in cocktails bars. And . . Throughout the week they are 2 for £12! 5 stars all round! Will be coming frequently!
Food was lovely ordered the signature burger and was amazing! My daughter ordered the gammon on the lunch menu and she ate it all. Staff were very friendly from the front of house man who seated us and served our drinks to the waitress Cheryl, lovely place, been here over the years and the pub has been decorated lovely, me and my daughter definitely enjoyed our 'ladies that lunch'
Service not too great as we had to wait quite a lot for the food but the beer garden and play area are great. Kids enjoyed a lot. Food is hit and miss, some dishes we tried were OK but others like the kebab were not great as the chicken was too dry.
This was the first time we popped in for ages, after not having a great experience previously…. And wow 🤩 what a different place it is now.
It looks like it has had a complete refit to a very high standard !
We grabbed a couple of menus and found a table in the bar area , they had lunch time menu so we order two courses from that.
One gammon and chips and one chilli and chips , be warned the chilli 🌶️ was spicy! But very very tasty! The gammon was well cooked and came with a egg and a slice of pineapple 🍍 super quality .
The staff where attentive and the no issues in getting served at the bar.
We will definitely be revising, next time for a Sunday roast !

Easily accessible from the premier Inn. Clean and welcoming pub , very friendly staff . Bar man welcomed us whilst manager on duty was with other people.
Our server was on her first day and couldn't have been nicer. ( Tanisha) she was trying hard to get familiar with the iPad for ordering.

We last visited prior to lockdown so over 3 years, the restaurant has been refurbished and looking clean and lovely but still feels cosy. There’s a good amount on the menu but not a huge menu which I think is a much better idea. The food came promptly and was excellent quality, really tasty and a good amount. Our waitress Cheryl was lovely and attentive, we weren’t rushed but also we weren’t forgotten about. Overall a really great experience and we’ll definitely come again.
Greeted in a friendly manner seated promptly at our table. The chairs were a mixture with 1 not comfortable but was not an issue. Menu arrived and our starter was just a few minutes after ordering. The prawn cocktail was full of tomatoes unusually. There was no cucumber it was tasty none the less. Our drinks were perfect again very prompt service. We finished our meal within an hour! The ambiance was buzzing. We would have preferred not to sit by the exit door where the children and those that smoke used frequently.
The restaurant was clean and everyone was very friendly. Food was of reasonable quality and not too over priced
