Having eaten many of the restaurants staples of late I like to search for the interesting when perusing the menu. Cafe Rouge met my “off piste” needs with exciting dishes like the pea tortellini, vegetable risotto and croquets. It’s a chain, yes, but with that there is, in Maidstone at least, a guaranteed seal of quality. Service, interior, food preparation, dish presentation was faultless. Feeling like something different and European, head to Cafe Rouge.

Came here as a group of 20 in January for a belated Christmas meal. The manager was extremely accommodating with our booking quite last minute. On the day the team on shift were extremely friendly, helpful and professional. Our food and drinks arrived very quickly, and were enjoyed by all. They were able to help with a last minute changes with extra orders, more desserts etc. An all round great experience, would recommend. Thank you.

Just had lunch I'd bought my son a slush puppy before we went in but this didn't cause any problems in getting a table. Have been a few times before, sometimes with family and have never had a bad experience. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help, making sure you're taken care of. I was happy to give a generous tip as I felt it was well deserved.

My husband and I popped in for breakfast recently and had a delightful time. We had a few pastries, some orange juice and a coffee and sat outside in the sunshine. It was heavenly. The almond croissant was divine and definitely one to have again! Also the manager served us and was fantastic. Great time had.

Great restaurant serving a wonderful selection of gluten free food. All staff were very friendly and so helpful when dealing with my dietary requirements. Good size and lovely tasting food portions, with excellent customer service. Have already booked to go again.

Visited this restaurant as our daughter had bought an afternoon tea. This restaurant offer a cheese afternoon tea hence I choose this place. I booked for our wedding anniversary yesterday, 11th September, 2pm. We arrived around 1.50 and the restaurant had the booking. Our waitress was Tina and she explained exactly what the cheese offer was and gave us a couple of options. She was friendly, polite, efficient and attentive. Food was lovely as was the wine and coffee to finish. We enjoyed a great lunch and would recommend the cheese lovers afternoon tea at this restaurant. Thank you.

Second time I've been here while visiting Canterbury and this was superb food. The steak was so flavorsome and cooked to perfection. Little ones are catered for too and our daughter had plenty of food to choose from. Would definitely try it out, steak picture attached.

Quiet at the time of dining, 7 ish onwards, around six table with diners. Seemingly only two serving, but timely attention received. Food was ok, well presented and tasty. We were dining with a 25% off food voucher, which obviously made it good value. However the price of drinks was heavy, £22 for a bottle of Merlot. House wine around £16 but having tried a taster was not overly impressed. Still, a good evening, relaxed, no rush to get us out the door.

A per my reviews for other Cafe Rouge restaurants, the service is excellent and the staff are only too happy to accommodate different dietary requirements as needed and are generally very friendly. Menu choices are extensive and suit all budgets. A good authentic atmosphere too! Overall I recommend.

Well cooked/tasty food(ordered from the set menu), perfectly timed meals between each course. Very friendly and professional staff. Restaurant and toilets very clean. All of this was achieved by café rouge team on a busy Saturday night as well. Want to revisit to try the duck and orange meal from the main menu.

We've been here several times over the past year and have always enjoyed the food and friendly service. Can't fault either. It was here I discovered samphire and subsequently ordered it in my next online shop. An amazing vegetable unlike anything I had tasted before. My favourite mains is the duck which is always cooked to perfection and not fatty and chewy like many other places. My favourite starter is the crab and avocado. Not much of a dessert man so usually skip that. My wife loves the French onion soup and beef bourginion. If you want deliciously flavoured exciting food in a lovely relaxed setting with friendly staff, then look no further.
