One of my favourite places to eat in Maidstone whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. Yummy food and friendly helpful staff. Love the gin tasting nights too!! Definately a place worth recommending!
Absolutely amazing food & fantastically welcoming staff. Highly recommend visiting here even if you just want to pop in for a glass of wine and nibble on some cheese
Thank you to all at Frederic’s for a really good evening last night tasting wine and cheese . All was delicious and a bonus to have good company too, lovely to meet you Mark, Grace, Kevin and Debbie.
Will definitely return and recommend to lovers of French food and wine.
Went to Frederic Bistro for our first time yesterday evening. Great varied menu, the lamb chop cassoulet was excellent. Very busy but a great atmosphere and best of all not rushed to finish our courses. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
Oh my.. this place is a Gem. Generous portions. Beautifully cooked food and wonderful staff. Could not have asked for more.. thankyou.
Wow, amazing place. Staff were lovely, polite and efficient. There was 29 of us last night and all the meals came out together and cooked to perfection!
Ulric was so helpful from the minute I enquired! Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant!
I eat here for the first time on Saturday and had a wonderful experience. had amazing Eggs Royale and Parisian Grey Tea. We browsed the wine and gin selection when we had finished eating and the manager came and spoke to us. Very friendly staff, great attention to detail by Management and we will definitely dine there again.
Went to a Gin and cheese tasting night last night as a birthday treat for and what a great night it was. I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone. We will 100% be visiting again on several occasions
What a fabulous place, excellent food and service. The restaurant was full. Good prices too! Loved all the different Gins you can choose from. Go there you won’t be let down.
I visited Frederic bistro yesterday on mother’s day with my husband and daughter. The food was amazing and the staff were fantastic even giving me a plant to take home. I am going to book a table for mine and my friends birthday in May. I can’t wait to eat there again!!
Great atmosphere , feels like a little bit of France , food is tasty and fresh using good quality ingredients , highly recommend you visit here but ld say book ahead for a table at the weekend
Hidden gem in the heart of Maidstone. We travelled here from London and stumbled upon this lovely French bistro and we were just blown away. We visited 3 times, each time greeted by very welcoming servers. The owner was also very attentive and provided us with constant visits to the table and excellent recommendations. One gentleman in specific, however, stood out. I believe his name was Pasquale (apologies if misspelled!). He gave us excellent recommendations on what to order from everything from the food to the wine. We trusted him to surprise us with everything. We tried the seasonal Baked Mont D’Or Cheese which was simply sensational. As a main course we shared the Hake Fillet wrapped in parma ham, also phenomenal. Finally, we tried the Sauteed Wild Mushroom on toast, which was full of flavor! All in all, 5/5 experience. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere.

A lovely French restaurant with decor to delight the wine buff. We came for lunch as part of a large group - the service was great and the food was delicious!
Very good as always. Main course amazing and consistent.
Desserts, well, I tried the chocolate and raspberry brownie, not sure why as I'm not a brownie lover, but it was sooo good, I'm converted!
The cheese board was a little underwhelming, 5 different cheeses but no explanation as to which was which, and very small portions of each.
My only negative is that the seats are a bit hard for my bony bum, but they will give you a cushion if you ask!
The food was good. Enjoyed my mackerel starter. The mains roast turkey was just OK - I've had better, to be honest. The dessert is what I wasn't impressed with at all. The brownie is served cold with ice cream... it should have been warm brownie and ice cream or cold brownie with warm custards... I couldn't cut through it, that's how hard or too cold it was. And I understand that desserts need to be kept in edible condition but surely when served, it can be done properly.
Anyway, you'll notice, I still gave a 4 star as the atmosphere was good and the rest of the meal was enjoyable but more importantly, I always look at good service and they did well.
I interacted with 3 different people and they were all fantastic on the day so I can't fault them. As a recognised Google Local Guide, I have to say it as it is. So, altogether, good place, and I'm sure coming back. Hopefully, the dessert with be better.
Lovely dinner at Frédéric last night. The menu is rich in flavour.
Staff are attentive without being needy.
Photos say it all with food presentation.
Really lovely contemporary French food, with great wait staff and excellent dessert patisserie options that they were happy to provide as a takeaway. All the dishes were tasty and well prepared/presented by the lamb chop cassoulet stole the show.

Lovely meal, we sat in the bar area which was a little more picturesque and more like a wine cellar than I would describe as a bar.Especially recommend the curried crab starter and beef bourginon and the bouillabaisse mains. All the the desserts the 6 of us had were really nice. I tried the prune and armagnac tart on this occasion as I have never had it before. We bought some extra apple tart to take home with us.
We went here for lunch. Really enjoyed our salmon tartines, the brioche toast was excellent; quality of the smoked salmon was superb and really stood out to me. Delicious pastries too, we enjoyed our coffee choux bun and apple tart. Great service. Will be back!
Had a wonderful evening here. The food was amazing. The service was fantastic. Lovely surroundings. Been here a few times before for lunch and dinner and it never fails to satisfy 😌
Food is delicious but portions way too large. Hate wasting food.
Had to wait a long time to be served but once we were staff were helpful and courteous.
Always a great atmosphere 👌
We have heard so many lovely things about this restaurant and have tried many times before to get a table, but on a Friday or Saturday they were always fully booked, which I guess goes a long way to tell you how popular it is. We had a day off, it was a weekday so we thought we would try our luck & amazingly they had a table for lunch. We got there a little earlier to sit outside and have a drink. Now, it is not in the most desirable location in Maidstone. It is on a mostly pedestrianised strip that runs between 2 other roads, but you will get the occasional delivery vehicle or bin lorry that needs to come down, so the only view you get is other buildings. Also, the outdoor tables are on the outer edge of the pathway, so you can get people walking right past your table. Not so much of a bother if you are just having a drink, but we decided we would not want to dine outside. Inside however was lovely. One part of the restaurant had the walls covered in wine racks. The other had copper pots & branches covered on fairy lights & nice big windows (for those people watchers out there.) Their wine selection was good & their gin selection even better. Expertly paired with just the right Fever Tree tonic. The food was divine. Wine, cheese, bread, paté what is not to love. For 2 of us on the lunch menu for 3 courses each with 3 g&t's, 3 glasses of white wine & a desert wine each we paid around £120 which does sound like a lot of money, but considering what we had and the quality of the food we found it very reasonable. Most definitely worth a visit, but I would recommend inside dining.
I really like this place and have eaten here twice in the last week with a friend.
The service is great, the staff are all really friendly and engaging as well as knowledgeable ( we were recommended lovely wine by our waiter on our first visit and on my second visit I threw a curve ball and asked for an off menu brandy to finish and to my delight I was offered a beautiful armagnac #kudos ), the food is great as is the wine list, and finally not to forget the deserts in the patisserie; the pistachio and raspberry tart in particular was stunning.
A well run restaurant, a real little tucked away gem 👍👍👍
Delicious authentic french dishes and lovely service
Lovely experience, great atmosphere and excellent service. Food was delicious- we had the pancakes (crepe style) and veggie breakfasts, all really good. The wine room was really cool too so would like to come back for wine and cheese. Recommend for a fun brunch with friends!
Very much enjoyed lunch here with my mum, son and very good friend. Quite delicious, good quality food, nice service and lovely company. The place was buzzing too. I will definitely be back to work my way through the menu.
really amazing food and so lovely environment, Gin cocktail is so beautiful. If the table cloth can not be paper will be much lovely, but anyway highly recommended and will go for another time.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had.
It’s a bit pricey for Maidstone, but 100% worth it. I had the goat cheese for starters and my partner had the Brussels pate (in photo) and the fillet stake for our main and both were amazing.
The restaurant will packed apart from two tables so you must book in advance.
The staff were lovely and very helpful.
I had no hesitation in leaving a tip.
If I had to improve 1 thing, I’d suggest changing the bakery entrance. Not my modern style.
