Excellent food, excellent bar staff. I really enjoy visiting this pub, can be a bit busy but thats the price you pay for being good!
Lovely Thursday lunch. Two of us had the Thursday offer on the steak, which we upped to sirloin. Cooked to medium, still nicely pink and very tender and tasty. The chips were nicely cooked too and flavoursome. Some chips are bland, but not these. I also enjoyed the roasted onion chunk instead of onion rings. Much better in my opinion! The chocolate torte was a chocoholics dream! Very rich, lovely vegan ice cream (I'm not vegan!) which you can change to dairy if you want, with a drizzle of caramel.. I very rarely finish a meal, but I ate every bit! Our third friend had the chicken burger, which she said was delicious, as was her gooseberry crumble. The sticky toffee pudding was good too, apparently. (I was too full to grab a taste....) Service was excellent, friendly staff. We are going there again soon, I hope!

Such a lovely place, staff are so friendly and helpful and the food was lovely too. We often come here for lunch which is always good. Decided to try the breakfast they have available at the weekend. Enjoyed it so much on Saturday we bought a friend to try on Sunday. Much more than pub grub and really well presented as well as being able to bring our dog which was a real bonus. Will definitely be back well done guys
Very polite and friendly staff. A nice atmosphere, classic pub experience, but with a modern twist. The portions were a little small, but they were well priced and delicious. Everything was clearly freshly cooked and came out piping hot. I'll definitely be returning here! 😃😃

The best service! Connor and Harley were so attentive to our large party. We all felt like we were their only table, which is hard to do during Sunday lunch. From start to finish, we had the best experience with drinks, food and service.
Took my family here for a nice treat for my grandmothers birthday and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, the staff were friendly and catered to our every need. Food was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long either. Would also like to personally thank Connor who was very friendly and went out of his way to make our visit brilliant. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a lovely place to go whether with family or a relaxing drink :-)
A bit unprepared for an event evening (Burns Night), so didn't have all the items on the menu and the service started a little slow. However, the guy who served our table later had us all laughing and was very helpful.
Thank-You all for a relaxing afternoon, I found the food perfectly served and the Wine List enjoyable.
I had not reserved a table so we sat in the bar which was lovely, but I am more looking forward to our table tomorrow in your Restaurant (14:15hrs Mr James)

Pretty good food, very good service, very clean place.

The food would have been good, except that the 'roasted new potatoes' included in a salmon dish were only boiled, not roasted. A poached egg was not cooked enough, and the meal had to be sent back, and it was a 10 minute wait for it to be replaced, by which time others had finished their meal. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. The pub was spacious and clean.
Used to go Shire Horse a long tine ago but stopped as it went rapidly down hill. Returned when Jay and his team took over and can honestly say that we cannot fault this place for its food, friendly staff and atmosphere. Went yesterday and although it was busy we managed to find a table and order a very enjoyable Sunday roast.
