An impressive restoration of a former old school building. We got 3 plates for £14 and two non alcohol drinks. Pleasant service, although the food took longer than expected.
It is a historic building with a spacious interior. When enjoying drinks, one can also appreciate the design of the building. Ordering through an app is very convenient, and the staff are polite. The only downside is that the place can be a bit dirty.
Popped in around 12 to escape the rain and have some lunch with my daughter. Picked small dishes- fish, chips and mushy peas, along with all day brunch.
Great sized portions. Food lovely and hot. Daughter said the fish and chips were as good as our chippy- high praise indeed. Just had soft drinks. Pub was fairly quiet which was great as daughter is autistic so struggles with crowds sometimes. Staff lovely and friendly.
This has to be the cleanest Wetherspoons around! The ladies room was spotless. The food was delicious and the lady taking orders at the bar was very friendly.
Lovely place very large super staff wide selection of food and drink children welcome nice friendly atmosphere warm place for its size.
Good Spoons in old Tech n Science school. I like Spoons as they serve a market richer people loath. Large spacious interior. Good real ale. Pint of Exmouth Stag. Got munchies so added curry Thursday.. Much missed in last two years of Covid insanity. The new ***** Vindaloo is hot! Under current WEF management Spoons will be last affordable place for us plebs.
The breakfast was lovely except the hash browns, but then my daughter ate them for me and loved them , so definitely just not to my liking .
It was a pleasant calm environment for a family breakfast, there was music but not intrusive
Just a lovely place to have breakfast in Macclesfield
It's a Wetherspoons which, in a way, should say it all. But TBH we had Tuesday's Steak Club meal, the special Sirloin steak which was excellent and the 1/2 roast chicken, equally good with drinks for about £22. The previous evening we'd paid around £60 for something similar at a pub.
You have to hand it to Spoons.....what value, what friendly service and an impressive building to boot. Ruddles scandalously was 20p cheaper than last week in Manchester Seven stars!!! My Curry was microwaved a lot better and tasted sooo much better than last weeks though. Went in after our draw with The Silkmen and drank till midnight and been in this morning for endless coffee and beans on toast.....£3.15....unbelievable...I love Wetherspoons
This example of the Wetherspoons pubs is close to the shopping center & tourist information office in Macclesfield. For those knowing Wetherspoons the layout felt familiar and ordering was easy. We visited on a Monday in summer school holidays. The place was quiet and finding a table easy. All our order - food and drinks - arrived at the same time. (Recently our experience at other Wetherspoons has been drinks arrive separately) Staff were quietly efficient too.
Always go on a wednesday morning for breakfast everyother week. For value can not fault either trad breakfast or eggs benidict. Lovely lovely landlady nice pleasant staff always ready to help and food alway consistant. Coffee great to. One minor thing think Macc Wetherspoons a little tired which may put some to be supporters off but we understand re the historical building to. But just to confirm we are wetherspoons fans we also eat at wetherspoons Poynton again just as good the other week. Just a lovely experience at Macc as they even know our table number now. Give the landlady a gold star from me. Lucy Torr.x
Bit faded but great service & lovely breakfast muffin😊
Great atmosphere..... Good mix of different ages ..... And half the price of Red Willow across the road.... My recommendation would be to walk 200mt across the road to Spoon's and save a fortune.
