Water Green Tavern - Macclesfield - Photo album

Great destination for real ale lovers. Opposite the train station. Has proper boozer vibe. First stop on day out in Macclesfield. New brewery for me, Town House brewery from Stoke. Lovely pint of Olicana. In 2021 and 2022 Good Beer Guide. Good start to the day.
A lovely pub with a good selection of hand pumps ales, wines, quality spirits, the owner has been spending money on the bar area (see pic) and re upholstering the seating, theres a real open fire and a reasonable amount of people coming and going, young and old, the toilets have been renovated a fe
Very friendly, reasonably priced food and spotless toilets. Perfect place to have l7nch pass time while waiting for a train.
Good old fashioned pub with excellent beer and a seriously grumpy landlord

Such a friendly welcome and good beer. Great locals pub and we would return.
A great traditional Freehouse with real ales, real fires outside space and real pub food. Brian has had the Waters Green for many years. It draws an eclectic friendly crowd. Lunches range from pies and toasties to hearty soups and great home made chips. Cracking
Pleasant small courtyard that now has a white gazebo covering half of the outside space. Staff are friendly and other patrons were welcoming. We went on a Thursday evening for a couple of drinks and it wasn't crowded. There is sanitiser and a book to sign and give a mobile number. We will happily
A good selection of beers and a warm welcome.
Traditional values in a pub, well kept real ale, staff helpful and cheerful, everything I wanted. Very handy if you're too early to catch your train
It's a place where I only go when *that* one of our friends is there. Because, you see, she knows the owner which guarantees awesome service. So the potential grumpiness aside, this is a quite remarkable place because you might not expect it but it is not only a good traditional pub but also one wit
Lovely local pub with friendly staff and patrons as well as great beers. Guest beers appear each week and I believe these are advertised on the Waters Green Tavern Facebook page. The pub has a pool table and beer garden.
Surely this is the epitome of the Macclesfield traditional pub scene. Forget your newcomer micro-pubs and brewery bars, this could be the blueprint for a traditional pub. Midway between rail and bus stations, this free house caters for lovers of cask ales. Lunchtime also sees very hearty and wholeso

Real ale pub that has fantastic range of beers, ciders and fruit beers. A good selection of Gins and spirits. Real fire, staff very welcoming and good atmosphere.
Fantastic boozer, wide range of ales, welcoming and friendly bar staff which as much as it should be a given in any pub, unfortunately isn't these days. Also very handy for the train station.
