5 STAR. If you like curries and you haven't been here, pick up the phone and book right now ! This is the 'Real Deal'. After 30 years of dining out I can honestly say this is by far the finest Indian restaurant I have EVER been to. I have had anything from Korma to vindaloo and always it has been delicous.Anything less than 5 Star is doing them an injustice. Myself my wife and many friends have dined here lots of times and always loved it. The welcome, service, meals, bar, tableware and comfort are all truly outstanding.

The shalimar. The food in the shalimar is good, not outstanding but good, it's a great restaurant but can still improve, but it's cetanily one of the best in macclesfield, few celebs do go time to time for instance, wayne rooney has been their, robbie savage and gordan ramsay, it's very busy in friday and saturday nights and i've been hearing that the mayir of macclesfield usually goes 2 or 3 times a month. The prices are amazing a real value for money and usually have great deals, especially on curries and main courses, the staff are really polite and to take good care. You can also get some outsanding champagne, and it has twice won the best indian cuisine restaurant in the north west twice, and has also won the customer exellence award 2008. Overall i would give this restaurant a 8/10 a brilliant restaurant.

We ate here for the first time last night for a family birthday and was not disappointed at all. All the food arrived in a good time and was faultless. I asked for a recommendation on a curry and the gentleman suggested the Naga Bahar, which was out of this world. The flavours and spice level were perfect. From Popadoms, to starters then mains, everything was perfect. The sundries were all lovely. The chutney tray with the Popadoms was the best I’ve ever had. Food portion sizes were good, and relatively inexpensive. We were asked where we would prefer to sit, and nothing was too much for the staff. Overall, a great experience! Probably one of the best Indians I’ve ever eaten at.

I find the food at Shalimar to be reliably good. The service was excellent. Just enough attention in making sure all was fine. Not in your face but always there when required. Mid week so not too busy but we weren't the only people dining. Very nice experience.

We love the food from Shalimar always but...last nights takeaway was AMAZING, we had been to an event locally and were entertaining the singer afterwards, she said, 'It was the best curry" she had ever had. Thank you.

Always come here when our friends are over as they love the variety on the menu and the quality of the food. This visit we had poppadoms and chutneys. King Prawn Cajun with jeers rice King Prawn Vindaloo with lemon rice, King Prawn chingri massalla with garlic rice and Firecracker lamb with special rice. All totally different and really flavoursome. Had Cobra, Kingfisher, prosecco, liquer coffees and brandies. A good night!
