The ancient mariner A wonderful pub/restaurant sat right on the harbour in Lynmouth harbour. There is a wide and welcoming entrance and oodles of seating can be found  both inside and outside, including a very nice deck that looks out onto the harbour. A wide range of drinks are available and good food is on offer. I visited on a Wednesday morning and it was empty, but I was welcomed by the bar staff and .my order for coffee was taken. Served very quickly and it tasted lovely. Massive restaurant , lots of assorted seating and nooks. Great decor and plenty of memorabilia to look at.. I wish I had stopped for food also as the menu looked very nice.

Absolutely love it here, the nautical theme and history on the walls is both fascinating and makes for a great decor. Then of course the food is just banging, the beer is amazing + the staff are always lovely. My favourite pub to eat and drink in at Lynmouth! If you're wondering what to eat on the menu, don't hesitate with literally any ploughmans or the fishcakes!

Went in expecting standard pub grub but, was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I had fish and chips with (real!) mushy peas, delicious, crisp batter and really tasty cod. My other half had moules mariniere which she said was rich and creamy with good quality meaty mussels.

Very beautiful place. The nautical theme caught my eye, and the food was very good. We had Sunday roast and burger with fries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

So pleased that we ended up here in Lynmouth on this sunny morning. After being let down by a cafe not opening on time up in Lynton we took the cliff railway down to Lynmouth and this ended being a great choice. After a stroll around the sights our noses lead us straight into The Ancient Mariner for breakfast. Lush menu for carnivores and herbivores! We'll definitely be back for lunch some time soon.

Great Pub in centre of Lynmouth, Interesting (in a good way) maritime decor and friendly and efficient staff. Visited recently, had planned to eat in the connected Bath Hotel , but liked the look of the menu and had an excellent dinner here instead, so glad we chose here. Ideal location, lots of parking nearby.

We visited a couple of times and both visits the food was fantastic. I had the mussels again today and they were delicious, bigger and better than anything I’ve had in Brittany and on par with a awesome place I use in port en bessin Normandy . . Great customer service . Stylish decor with a quirky twist . Delicious food and drink . Clean . Alfresco, Bar & Restaurant dining areas Looking forward to coming back in the summer to sit on your new outside terrace . Well done guys, you should be very proud of what you’ve done here.

Great looking facility and great crew. The food was well cooked and the beer was wonderful. There are several restaurants, but this is where you should stop for lunch or dinner.

We booked a table here based on recent reviews. We were not disappointed! The Sunday roast is terrific. It's lush. 7 different vegetables, my beef was cooked perfectly; I was even asked how I liked it cooked! Brilliant. Gravy delicious and roast potatoes were great. Yorkshire puddings as you can see are prodigious. Also some lovely ales from Exmoor brewery on tap and we ordered a bottle of red as well. A very special thanks to the team as the first bottle was vinegary but they changed it for a different one with absolutely no fuss. Overall we were very pleased indeed and would come back again without hesitation. Very highly recommended.
