Been going here since I was a kid and the cakes are the best! Highly recommend the coffee and walnut cake! This is a no frills place with a set menu: full cream tea (tea/coffee, scones and cake) or a tea/coffee and cake. Well worth a visit as the place is beautiful and the staff are friendly!

Acres Down Tea Rooms is great, one of our local favourites. But you need to take them as you find them: * Cash only * The menu is: - tea and (delicious home-made) cake; or - coffee and cake; or - cream tea (two scones plus drink). If that's not what you want, don't go there. But the setting is amazing; beautiful and timeless. And the tea/coffee and cake is just perfect. A little slice of heaven!

A lovely home cooking tea room off the beaten track but at the start of end of a walk in the new forest. Lovely gardens to relax. Nice choice of popular cakes and hot drinks. Worth a visit to support this private tea room if in the area.

Best coffee & walnut cake we have ever had, lovely staff, there was 7 of us and 3 children inside so a little chaotic for them, but were so kind, I think some small amount of background music 🎶 would be fab, will be back for sure! Highly recommended 👌

Lovely. Homemade, authentic cream teas and lovely staff. The selection of teapots was akin to the British museum. Impressive stuff. What a gem.

What a lovely tea room, and beautiful garden. We enjoyed the home made cakes with tea. There was plenty of wildlife outside with some lovely plants. A nice quiet oasis thank you.

CASH ONLY This is a great tea shop, friendly good service. But seriously CASH ONLY (July 2023) Anyone can get a Sumup or Zettle contactless card reader for ~£30 These days businesses that are cash only must raise suspicion at the Inland Revenue, and post Covid many people like me just don’t carry cash, particularly when we are out walking.

We walked to Acres Down and found that they were opening later than expected so we sat and waited. We met the house cat Ben and found him to be very friendly and inviting. Soon enough the owner opened up. We had come for cream tea but found that the owner only accepts cash so opted for tea and cake instead as that's all we had money for. The cakes were delicious and the coffee very generous. Marked as 4* as the wasps put us off. I know you can't do much about them as you're outdoors but it did make us rush our food and drink. It is a lovely, unique little place and well worth a visit if you're in the area.

We all had tea and cake. Best value for money we have had in a long time. Interesting tea pots all around. More than ample tea and freshest cake. Thank you.
