Lovely place , driven past for year's and year's as live not far away but never called in . I've never eaten a pie with so much good meat as their steak and ale pie had (I've eaten a lot of pies ).

Great food. Would recommend. I had smoked trout with new potatoes, salad and brown bread and butter. (2 slices) salad and dressing were just yummy! It was superb! Generous portions - I couldn't eat all of mine! Hubby had steak, chips and tomatoes. He's allergic to mushrooms, so was offered extra tomatoes, but I requested peas - no problem. He said his steak was lovely and cooked just how he wanted. We'll be back.

While being in lots of traffic we noticed this place, went inside to be greeted by friendly staff. Being a Sunday we each had the roast which was absolutely delicious ! The local brewed beer was excellent too. Next time I'm down this way I'll definitely visit here again. Cheers Rob

We had just visited Furzey Gardens and we were heading back to the town but we stumbled across this place really. Our good fortune. I didn't know what I wanted for lunch but I knew I would know when I saw it. One of those days. We decided to sit indoors and there was plenty of seating. Round tables , high tables with stools , soft chairs , window seats and more. Great choice. There was plenty of outside seating too but we decided that it was quite windy and therefore the food would cool too quickly. A very good extensive menu. Plenty of starters and a really good selection of main courses. Ordered at the bar , had a couple of drinks and our food was delivered , not quickly but timely. I like pub food , I had Hunters chicken with that lovely barbecue sauce , lots of 🧀 served with peas and fries. I like big portions , and I was really pleased. I did have half of my wife's chips though. She had the home made Steak and ale pie but it was served with mashed potatoes , but we were able to swap it for the chips. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the venue was excellent. The price was reasonable and when we left I thought that we had got really good value and a great meal. I thoroughly recommend it.

Driven past The Swan many times but pleased we stopped on Saturday, so much so, we went back Sunday. Good choice of food and nice to see bread and butter offered with the fish and chips! Service was very good. Lovely pub inside and great garden. Extremely dog friendly with treats, water and poo bags available for your fur family member. Inside and out very clean and well maintained. Would highly recommend for a meal, lunch or just popping in for a drink following a day out or as part of your day out. We ordered from the menu rather than the app as it offered slightly more choice as well as flexibility to order more drink/food if needed.

Very cosy traditional pub with great choice of food and beer. Staff is very friendly to all including dogs and little kids. Food is really good, much better than in an average pub. Great time after a good hike!

This quiet little village pub is fantastic. It serves a wide range of food for adults and children and even has a menu for dogs. The staff are friendly and the parking ample. We like to make an detour to visit if we are heading over to that part of the country. It’s well worth a visit.

Beautiful pub, lovely location, fantastic food at reasonable prices. Would easily be 5 stars if the new owners hadn't been so short-sighted as to remove the electric car chargers from the car park.

Great staff & great location. Good pub food at fair prices - if you order using the stonegate app you will notice a special set menu available that is not listed on the printer menus ;)

Stopped here for lunch as part of a day out treat for my 89 year old mum. The staff were fantastic especially the young man who she beckoned over to say that she didn’t like spiders (the fantastic Halloween decorations). In her mind a little joke but we think he was a little worried that something was wrong. All three meals were very well presented and did not disappoint. Thank you, we will definitely be back!

A really lovely welcoming pub. To say dog friendly is an understatement, not only are treats available, but also a menu just for them and beds so they are comfortable. The staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Will definitely make a note of this pub and be back again!

Family friendly with good food. A good range of activities for young ones available as well as nicely decorated for Halloween. The young lady (with long dark hair) serving was excellent, the only shame was that we were unable to leave a tip to her as the meals were paid upfront.

Went to The Swan tonight for my niece’s 13 th birthday get together. There were 12 of us +2 dogs. We had a nice little area reserved for us near the fireplace. We ordered mainly starters side burgers, sharing platters. We are a fussy bunch but nothing was too much trouble for the lovely friendly staff. The food was lovely good value for money. We all had a really enjoyable evening and will definitely be back. May be a Sunday roast after a walk with the dog. So thank you very much all the staff at Swan.

Just finished a really nice meal at The Swan. We'd been here some 10 years before and were keen to come back. We weren't disappointed even though an awful lot can change in that time! The staff were pleasant and friendly and while quite quiet the atmosphere was relaxed and unhurried. The food was great and good value. No complaints at all. The staff were only too accommodating of my wife's particular culinary needs to tweek her food, as well as being patient with my fussy 9yo! An average of about £18 per head for 3 people including drinks really isn't bad at all these days. To sum up it was a really pleasant visit and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Seeing how friendly they are towards dogs we might even bring our pooch!

I went here today with my family and wasn’t disappointed. Staff very friendly and food was delicious. We brought out large dog with us and staff was very accommodating making sure we had a table giving her lots of room to relax and lay down. Have a lovely menu especially for dogs which she enjoyed. Would highly recommend.
