Fabulous Food ! We had a Mixed Grill for Lunch ( Was like a Full on BBQ plate !) It did not disappoint ! Friendly warm staff who were fabulous in response to my Learning Disabled Daughter - A warm and enjoyable experience Thankyou
The Chef finished serving at 3pm but we arrived around 4pm we were cold wet and hungry..
He stayed and cooked our 2 course meal , we were very thankful to him .

Husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. Very warm and welcoming.staff were all delightful,helpful, and polite. Room was excellent, light,bright and clean.exeeded our expectations. Complimentary tea/coffee facilities and lovely toiletries in the room. Ate dinner in the restaurant and it was great. Good choice,pleasantly served and buzzing atmosphere on a Friday night.Great breakfasts,again with good choice and lovely service.location is perfect for exploring the New Forest. Nowhere is more than a 20min drive and the scenery is divine. Lyndhurst is a pretty village with a good selection of independent shops and cafes.
Came for lunch whilst on holiday in the area. Covid and inflation have impacted the hospitality trade and prices even on pub grub are inevitably higher than a few years ago. We saw nothing on the menu about a service charge and our meals were good. Nevertheless, 10% was added making this definitely more than typical pub grub prices. We questioned this and the service charge was removed.
We wish the venue well, but if you are going to add service, please let the customer know!
Amazing Sunday roast!! 😋 Super generous portion of Pork, moreish roast potatoes and proper Yorkshire pudding… couldn’t finish it 😬 Delicious veg and the cauliflower cheese was heavenly! Great atmosphere and the team were lovely, even though it was busy due to the Scarecrow trail happening that weekend. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to return!
Well situated hotel and bar for the village of Lyndhurst, it's right on the high street with limited parking behind. The pub had a good selection of beers but mostly Greene King. The dining area and garden were well maintained and comfortable. We ate the Nut Roast which was of a good size but a bit sweet and lacking in texture.
The hotel rooms were fine for a short stay but a little dated and tired looking. It was also quite stuffy and warm, even with the window open.
Staff were generally welcoming and helpful but a bit difficult to locate at times when checking in and out.
"At Last" i have been in hotels in Hampshire in s/e London in Staffordshire and "The Stag" in Lyndhurst in the New Forest has been the first one that's had everything. Clean spacious areas and fantastic rooms not to mention the fantastic food and really helpful and friendly staff. It's ideally situated for those days out and returning in the evening ready for another venture out the next day. The prices are great not only for the rooms but food as well if needed and with breakfast included in the price. Looking forward to a week there in the summer next year although still plenty to do and see in the not so sunny days absolutely fantastic for walks out. Had a short break in the New Forest & stayed at The Stag Hotel in Lyndhurst. As soon as we entered we were greeted by very friendly & efficient staff. Our rooms had everything you wanted, including a very comfortable bed & the shower was so good I didn't want to get out. The menu offered a good choice & the food was so good we had our evening meals there each day. Excellent location for exploring the New Forest. If I go back to the New Forest there is no need to look elsewhere, it would definitely be back to the Stag Hotel

Very friendly staff recommended local ales then accommodated us without a booking in the restaurant.
Two course for two parties. Excellent service coupled with great food. Nice menu with decent selection to suit all.

This is a beautiful pub! Filled with awesome, friendly and inviting staff. We felt like one of the family from the moment we arrived.
The room was top notch! Could not have asked for a nicer place to stay. I am vegan and the food was some of the best I have had in ages!
Get yourselves to The Stag! You will not regret it! We will be back!

We visited for a Sunday afternoon drink. Alot bigger than it looks from the outside with a garden out the back. We escaped the sun for a while and sat on a lovely comfy sofa. Child friendly and friendly service. Food smelt incredible but sadly we didn't try any
Had a two night stay for a wedding and the location was ideal. The room was clean and tidy and has good sized outdoor area. We enjoyed seeing the different birds in the Avery at the back of the garden.
