Whenever we are near or passing through Lyndhurst we always try to stop at the Greenwood Tree Cafe. Lovely cafe with great staff and the best selection of cakes. Catering for Dairy-free/Gluten-free/Vegan there is guaranteed to be something for most people's tastes. Also the cafe is dog friendly if that helps anyone.
Stopped in over a busy lunchtime for a cuppa and a slice of the most delicious lemon drizzle cake. Service great, staff were all on the ball during the very busy period. Lots of dog owners obviously are welcome here and the staff pay particular attention to the canine guests…..
Couldn’t fault the place at all, so would thoroughly recommend…..
What an amazing find this was in the heart of Lyndhurst. Such lovely staff and we were so impressed with their vegan and vegetarian menus. We went to a pub the night before and they had hardly any menu choices in these categories.
The size of the cafe is deceiving from the outside but when you walk in it’s lovely and spacious, high ceilings and lots of table choice. We arrived at 9.15 on a Sunday morning and could tell straight away how popular it was due to how busy it was.
This is a must if you are in Lyndhurst, fabulous staff, great menu choices and delicious food.
Thank you very much for a lovely start to our day!
Friendly staff who were attentive from the moment we walked in. Lots more space than you would think from the outside. Lovely decor and high ceilings. Lots of large tables and seating for big groups/families.
Visited for breakfast with a friend. We liked the special separate vegan menu ! I ordered pancakes and they were gorgeous, tasty, thick American style yet light. Coffee was good and would definitely come again.
We paid separately which was not an issue (a lot of the time in places you get a shrug from staff as is more effort) but not here :) and I even got a stamp card on the exit to work towards a free drink whilst meeting the owner!
What a perfect start to my Sunday. Great place and I left with a smile
We are travellers from Australia and found this gorgeous cosy cafe in the heart of Lyndhurst. We were drawn to the old architecture of the building but once inside you’re spoilt for choice with so many beautiful treats. From carrot cake to gingerbread cookies, dirty chai lattes to spinach, mango and pineapple smoothies. Today they even had a malteser madness milkshake! There is an entire menu for GF customers, vegan customers and everything customers. We tried to vegan scrambled eggs and they were to die for. A great atmosphere all round if you’re looking for an authentic english breakfast. The staff are wonderful and we cannot fault the food. Couldn’t recommend this cafe enough 💚
I got a free drink because I'm a Greenwood! 🤩 lovely café and the manager was really nice. Great name! The cakes looked really good. Nice to see vegan options in a Hampshire café.
On a weekend visit to Lyndhurst we visited this cafe twice. We are both vegan. First visit we had the flatbread that was really tasty and well thought out. Second visit we had the 'egg' and avocado croissant and a 'sausage' sandwich. Both were very tasty. The egg specifically was great so much so another portion was ordered. We followed this with a cream tea and the flotted cream is absolutely delicious. So much like real cream you wouldn't know any difference. Service is fast and efficient and the staff are very friendly and chatty. We will definitely be visiting Lyndhurst again for some more lovely cycling and will be sure to come back here.
Lovely little place with delicious food. We visited a day before pancake day, and my son tried their tasty options. He absolutely loved it. My husband and I have tried the full breakfast (vegan option), and we both loved it.
What a nice find. Never been in as always busy. Now know why. Took a chance and went in for breakfast. Glad we did. Nice extra options, sweetcorn fritter, rude not to and a blast from my childhood. Nice flavour on sausage and thick bacon. Makes all the difference. Nice coffee. Also check out there cakes selection. Will hit that on next trip. Extra seating around the back, so go in and check they have space.
We LOVE this place. Staff are so friendly, amazing vegan options (we love the scones and vegan breakfast). We came every day of our 3 day new forest break. A must visit in our opinion!
Loads of vegan options - we had the vegan breakfast, vegan cheese and red onion panini and the vegan pancakes, and they were all amazing! Wanted to try more but couldn’t fit it all in… Highly recommended.
Vegan cream tea… heard good things about this place from other vegans as they do vegan scones with ‘flotted cream’ - well our scones were absolutely delicious, honestly the best vegan ones I’ve tasted so far! As for the ‘flotted cream’, it tasted just how I remember clotted cream tastes - spot on! Lovely cafe with very friendly staff - reasonably priced as well. Will definitely be back and will recommend :)
Lovely vegan cream tea with ‘flotted’ cream (lentil-based) with a full vegan and gluten free menu
The Greenwood Tree - Vegan 3 bean chilli with jacket potato (£9.25) with Ginger Beer (£2.40). Wholesome food
This is the most amazing cafe!! And then vegan ‘flotted’ cream is to die for!!
Dog friendly and vegan options…perfect.
We’ve visited Greenwood a couple of times now and both have been great. Plenty of great vegan options inc. scones with Flotted Cream.
Staff are friendly, accommodating and it’s just a lovely establishment. Well worth a visit and we’ll be sure to be back soon.
Loved my cream-tea stop last week. Black tea and sultana scone. Great spot to relax.
Do not miss this gem of a cafe! We had the English breakfast which was tasty, hot and filling. The quality of the food was excellent and was cooked beautifully. Service was lovely from a helpful, friendly team. Highly recommended!
Amazing allergen safe place to eat for adults and kids!
Amazing knowledge, awareness, experience and clear information.
Visited today, sort of just stumbled across it and was utterly DELIGHTED to find allergen friendly food! A whole vegan and GF menu, desserts and cakes all clearly marked suitable for a range of different allergies.
It was so lovely walking in somewhere and not being restricted to 1 or 2 dishes picked only for minimal mods.
They also did not charge any extra for diary alternative milks <3 when I mentioned to the staff about it (I can’t remember if it was the owner or manager) they smiled and said ‘why should people have to pay more because they have allergies?’
Will be back for sure <3
