Reviews The County Members

The County Members is a lovely pub in the sleepy village of Lymnpe, which dates back to Roman times. There are ruins of a Roman port settlement visible from the walkway alongside the Hythe Military Canal, built as part of the defences against invasion in the Napoleonic wars, at the bottom of the scarp to the south of the village. The pub itself has a good selection of beers, some of which are real ale. I had a pint of Doom Bar, which was well kept. The lunch we had was good solid pub fare. We had a variety of mains and desserts, all of which were pronounced as excellent by the lunch party. Our guests arrived by Eurotunnel, which was delayed as usual, but the pub staff accommodated us with the minimum of fuss. A Decent cup of freshly-made coffee rounded off the meal. In summary, an enjoyable meal made special by the excellence of the cooking and the helpfulness of the staff.

Lovely staff and service. Food reasonably well priced and a proper feeling of being home cooked. Liver and bacon was delicious, as was the Garlic mushroom pudding !!! Have used before when in the area and will use again.

First time back here since, 2015. The staff were very friendly down to earth. I had the Liver and my wife had the steak and ale pie. Very tastey. Will most certainly be going back. Great value for money.

Have been in twice recently and I believe this to be a great village pub. Friendly staff, clean and a very good pint. Next time I'll be back to try the food that looked wonderful on my first visit. I like the way they make an effort with themed nights, a Greek one coming up that I noticed. They obviously have someone talented in the kitchen. Keep up the good work!

We have just had an amazing roast dinner and pud! It was honestly the best roasts I've had in a long time. We've been to many pubs/restaurants for a roast and this was by far the best. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended 👌

Read mixed reviews about this pub but we decided to try it. Loved it 🥰 Staff very very friendly and helpful and the food we had was excellent quality and well presented. Other meals people had around us also looked very yummy. Very relaxed atmosphere and not rushed in any way. Defiantly go here again.

Been past this place loads of times but tonight was our first visit- beautiful pub, good size car park. Warm welcome when we walked in the door with friends. My wife pulled out a chair and it promptly came apart which set the tone for our evening meal, staff are friendly and engaging, joined in the fun over the broken chair. Food was well presented ,tasty and good size portions( you won't need 3 courses)

Welcoming pub serving quality home made meals with a selection of drinks on tap. Dogs and families catered for, no fancy meals, just good quality & value; freshly prepared food. What a pub should be.

It's not showy, but good space inside. We ordered the steak and ale pie and we won't need to eat for a week! It was an amazing pie, no filler loads of steak. Beautifully cooked vegetables.
