Didn't prebook this stay but just walked in on the off chance and were more than pleased and in fact booked an extra night. The room was lovely and the breakfast choice more than adequate and the cooked breakfast cooked and presented to perfection. We also ate in the restaurant two evenings and again thoroughly enjoyed the food again cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we would stay there again. Definitely would recommend to others

The best afternoon tea in the south. I have had afternoon tea at Stanwells on numerous occasions and I have enjoyed it every time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great selection of finger sandwiches, scrummy warm scones and a huge selection of delicious treats washed down with various choices of warm drinks or a glass of bubbles if feeling cheeky! The whole surroundings are stunning and very relaxing. Definitely worth a visit.

Imagine Chelsea House chic with Kensington High Street cuisine and you are nearly there. This hotel is unashamedly lavish, from the reception hall to their finest suites which, by the way, are just to die for. The opulence continues in the fabulous bar that has an air of sophistication reminiscent of "1920s Parisian bar meets private members club". The restaurant at Stanwell House serves fabulous food with the kitchen taking advantage of freshly available produce. The seafood served in the restaurant is sourced from local fishermen, and their fresh caught fish and shellfish are collected in the morning from the quay and served that day for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere of romance flows effortlessly throughout this stunning hotel and amongst all this splendour, not a trace of stuffiness. Robert together with his friendly team of staff look forward to welcoming you to the fabulous Stanwell House Hotel, Restaurant and Bar Licensed for Gay Weddings in Lymington, New Forest. Well done all of you because your place is just fabulous <3

We stayed at the Stanwell house hotel as a birthday treat. We booked afternoon Tea, a five course taster menu for dinner, an over night stay and breakfest. Wow what a place, should be a five star hotel. Our suite was spacious and tastefully decorated. The en suite had a deep egg shaped bath and seperate hydro power shower. The food was delicous and service was outstanding, they could not do enough for us. Thanks again to Lewis and team for making our stay extra special, we will be back. Highly recommend. Many thanks Oli and Nikki Wild

What a lovely gem of a hotel! Friendly staff who cant do enough for you! Excellent rooms that are spotless clean. Restaurants serve great delicious food and nice to enjoy a cocktail before and after dinner in the conservatory! Would recommend anyone to stay here! Lymington is a great town to explore, with lots of lovely shops. Cant wait to visit again!

When hotels say ‘dog friendly’, they rarely mean ‘Newfoundland Dog Friendly’! The Stanwell House Hotel is though. We stayed 30th & 31st December and from the moment we checked in were looked after so well. Nothing was too much trouble. Extra space found for our 7 month old Newf, Bob and he was even invited (with us) to the New Years Eve dinner and dance, which was superb. The room was beautiful and spacious and lead straight out to the patio area, which takes you to the gardens. The standards at the hotel are no way compromised because they are dog friendly. All the staff are amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast is really excellent and cooked to order along with Bob’s breakfast sausage! The New Years Eve dinner was absolutely delightful, tasted exquisite and beautifully presented. We really can’t say enough positive things about this hotel. Thanks for making us feel so welcome EVEN with 8st7lb of wet dog!! See you again, for sure x
