Amazing food and atmosphere at the beautiful Mayflower.
Rump steak is the best I’ve tasted. Belly pork also lovely.
Would highly recommend and cannot wait for better weather to eat outside. Loved our meal thank you.
Amazing evening celebrating my daughters birthday.. excellent food, lovely table in the corner so we were able to bring our dog, which is always a plus point for us.The staff were lovely too, would always recommend the Mayflower, we bring all our friends here.Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Looking at the reviews to see some petty comments. Haha some people are strange. We loved our stay and it’s at the top of my list. What a fabulous pub. Lovely atmosphere and the staff couldn’t be more friendly. Rooms are gorgeous and food was excellent. Definitely a 5star from us.
Had a lovely meal this evening at The Mayflower. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the pub looks very Christmassy with open fires and lush Christmas trees !
I also had the best mulled wine ever ! ( plus a Baileys got chocolate!) xxx
Can’t wait to see you all again soon xx
Very relaxed atmosphere, great service and the food was lovely. Nice outside space for good weather, yesterday the weather wasnt great so inside was lovely and cosy. Brilliant menu with lots of choice. My friend is vegetarian and the choice for her was great too. Definitely recommend.
Stayed here when attending a wedding and I can’t fault it. The room was much better than expected, for a pub, staff were very friendly and breakfast was amazing. Definitely going back
This place is amazingly situated along a river bank. There are plenty of seats inside the pub/restaurant and outside. I can't comment on the food as we didn't end up eating here, but we did have drinks here and it was such a pleasant time enjoying it all at this place. I will come back again the next time I'm in the UK to try the food and enjoy the view.
Had a great Sunday lunch here with friends. Three of us opted for roasts and one had fish and chips. Meat was beautifully cooked and veggies all fresh, fish and chips had crispy batter and decent size piece of haddock. Wasn't a huge dessert menu but all home made and delicious, two sticky puddings and brownie and a crumble all hit the spot in fact could have eaten another one! Service was very attentive and friendly and food came quickly. Price was reasonable and I think was good value for the food served. The place has a nice relaxed atmosphere and the toilets were very clean.
Recommended by my parents who visit this area regularly but hadn't actually been in, it's in a fantastic location, has a car park and food was great. We had Sunday roasts and they were delicious! Service was pretty good for a pub - highly recommend!

This is a great pub with boutique rooms. Very convenient for the sailing clubs, which were our focus for our weekend visit. My only minor concern was that breakfast started a few minutes late and we weren't even able to wait in the restaurant area, but had to leave the hotel by the residents entrance and re-enter from the rear of the pub. Not a problem for us, as the weather was fine, but still a minor irritation. Overall, I can highly recommend staying here and we plan a return visit next year.
Met friends for lunch early in the week and loved it so much we came back later in the week. Food was superb (and great gluten free awareness), beer was great and the service was brilliant. We will definitely visit next time we are in the area. We would recommend it very highly!
Nice room in the pub. Very clean, comfy bed, and fluffy towels Unfortunately the shower tray filled very quickly, so you had to keep turning it off during your shower, so the tray emptied. I did mention it but they did not come and fix it during our stay. Staff were nice m, although some of them could be less grumpy, particularly the managers. There was a good choice at breakfast but the toast was dry as it was not buttered, and it was not always sourdough as stated on the menu. The waiting staff were good. The lunch we had was ok, neither good nor bad. I would stay there again.
The most delicious vegan roast dinner - you could tell all the food was homemade and cooked fresh.
The Yorkshire puddings were enormous and the portion sizes substantial. The mushroom, bean and kale wellington was delicious and I would highly recommend it.
Booked for an overnight stay and meal with a two year old and a dog and can’t say enough good things about the welcome we received and the helpful nature of all the staff.
The room was fine, quiet and the bathroom amazing. While the food was pretty standard pub fayre it was tasty and just what was needed after a day exploring the New Forest.
Although brief, our stay at The Mayflower was memorable in the best way. Beautiful, spacious room with all the right touches. Yet, most impressive was the service! We left a very important parcel mistakenly -- a suit purchased especially for my partner's daughter's wedding. We had found it in Bath a few days earlier and it was the perfect fit and style. How distraught we were when we realized as we we driving far along to Heathrow that we had forgotten it in the cupboard. After a few calls to Marcel, the gracious landlord of the hotel, he made arrangements for it to be sent to us. We are so thankful and look forward to returning to Lymington to spend more time. Thank you Marcel! And thank you to the welcoming, friendly staff of The Mayflower.
Came here for dinner on a Monday night. Friendly staff, good service and decent food for a decent price. Could do with a few more veggie options, though.
If April's showers brought May flowers, what did Mayflower bring? Pilgrims.
Apparently this Mayflower doesn't reference the famous ship but relates to a more recent lightship from the area.
It's quite a big place near the marina, with a large garden to sit outside when the weather is favourable. Inside, the pub has a good vibe and the service was nice and quick when we went there. It was a welcome stop after a long walk.
Our visit to the mayflower last week. What can I say everything was amazing. Portion size was well adequate. The medium steak was cooked perfectly just how I like it. We had such lovely waitress that came and served us, shame I forgot see her name. She was very friendly and helpful and overall made it a great experience. The cider was excellent and good value. Definitely will be coming back had such a great atmosphere for a Friday evening.
Pros: Big bed & bathroom. Service good & breakfast fine. Near yacht club.
Cons: trying to be a boutique hotel and failing. Over priced for what it is.
20 mins walk to Lymington Quay.
Other than breakfast food is mediocre, like many pub chains
Fantastic location next to the Marina. Room pleasant enough, if a little gloomy light-wise; very comfy bed, shower and bathroom absolutely fine. Friendly and attentive staff, food very good.
Has a lovely dinner here, Fish and Chips and the Burger. Good service, quick and easy. The food tasted very nice and was reasonably priced
