Your recent review from gastrohub. I first came across this pub when in The New Forest with my dear wife and our small hairy friend, Wookie. I was looking for a good pub to have lunch in, which was friendly in the way of dogs. The Monkey House was one of the first which popped up, and it came highly recommended by several reviews I found. That sounded very much like a job for gastrohub. The Monkey House stems from the wooden branch of the pub species. By that I mean there is plenty of wood. Floors, tables, bar etc. It felt instantly welcoming, which was only sharpened by the lovely greeting we received from the staff. It very quickly became clear that dogs are not just allowed here, they are loved and cherished, which makes the whole experience much more relaxing for dog owners. Rachel had recently turned vegetarian, so it was good to see several interesting non meat options on the menu. She chose the sweet potato and coconut curry. I went all manly with a spicy chicken burger. The pub is a free house, run by a family, and throughout our visit, we met several of them. They were all extremely friendly, some even giving treats do Wookie, who quickly decided this was her favourite pub. The food didn't take too long to arrive, and when it did, we were soon glad we had come. Rachel's curry was delicious, and my burger was a proper burger. A good sized piece of real chicken, not a bought in breaded midget chicken breast. The chips were good, the rice was good, everything was good. By the time we had ploughed our way to the end of our meals, we were both satisfied and delighted to have found such a wonderful new pub for our trips to The New Forest. Never have I experienced more friendly people working in a pub, and for that, The Monkey House must be congratulated and applauded. It's often not until you have experienced such warmth and enthusiasm that you realise how much difference it can make to your time in a pub, whether you are eating or drinking. There is a good menu on offer, and a good chef putting the food together. There is everything to like about this pub, and we will certainly be back for more.

Awesome eating venue. Staff were very helpful on the phone. Very accommodating for our dog and toddler, with entertaining staff discussions with my son and treats for the dog. We asked for my son's food to come straight away as he was hungry and they brought it really quickly. His portion was as good as an adults meal, I would have happily eaten it for my own! The fish and chips was delicious and perfectly accompanied by the minted pea purée. Best chips I've eaten for a while and fresh fish. Desert really yummy too. And all in a lovely surrounding. Thank you Monkey House!

First time here, came with the band. what a lovely establishment. Lovely Sunday night menu with lots to choose from. Starter prawn cocktail my mum and dad had Brie and whitebait, portions huuuuggggge!!! Mains crab cake, omg so many different tastes and Crispy but fluffy chips, coconut prawns and salad with the lush dressing. A mahoosive gammon egg and chips. Sweet potato and aubergine curry with coconut rice, looked smelt and tasted amazing. We thought we were stuffed but no we saw the dessert menu and were persuaded by the healthy options of passion fruit cheese cake, with blood orange sorbet, and carpaccio pineapple with sorbet and macaroons, nearly didn't eat it as the plates were made up so beautifully both were so fresh tasting and lush. Followed by 3 go mad and a friendly atmosphere. Will hopefully be back for more food and music.

Fantastic place. Great food, and the beers brewed on site at the micro-brewery are extremely good. What sets this place apart, though, is the fantastic service - extremely welcoming and attentive staff that couldn't do enough to make the experience enjoyable.

Our original choice for lunch was unavailable, so we thought we'd give the Monkey Brewhouse a try. We were certainly not disappointed. Very friendly and courteous service, lovely well priced menu and tho' we only went for baguettes this time (which were absolutely delicious as were the accompanying chips) we saw others' choices arriving and they looked absolutely super. To add: The O/H tried their own Monkey lager and says it was very good indeed. We will most definitely be back.

Came here for the beer, which was excellent. Was very impressed with the food, which is a cut above pub grub and includes excellent veggie options. Enjoyed it so much we have cancelled our original booking elsewhere for tomorrow night and booked a table here instead - need to sample some different brews.

Have eaten there for dinner and for lunch and both times the food and service was excellent. Sitting outside is a little noisy but it's not really a problem. The Sunday night live music was a joy. Food prices are at the high end, but it is well cooked and portions are a good size. Highly recommended

Great drinks, great food. I had fish and chips and they were delicious! Kids menu available too. Sat outside in the beer garden and sampled some of their own beers which were very tasty. Great experience, thank you.

Brilliant pub! Service was excellent, wines nice, live music (Sunday) which they moved outside because of the good weather, and bits of food we had / saw all decent. Big outdoor area - lots of it covered.

Recently stayed here for four nights to coincide with the Boat Show at Southampton. Good room, great food ...both for breakfast and evening pub food. All the beers tried were excellent.Very friendly and helpful team made the whole few days really a nice break. The keg of Koala Grog travelled well to North Scotland..and maybe the most northerly pint of Monkey brewhouse beer served !! If only to me..it tastes just the same as at at the Monkey brewhouse bar !! Well done team..we hope to return.Thank you.

So we popped to the Monkey Brewhouse for dinner, we managed to get a table very late but safe to say it didn't feel like it, as wasn't rushed at all and the service was fantastic. They couldn't do more for us. Sitting outside was great, and there we're heater lights, which just took the edge off the cool air when the sun started to go down. We have a beef burger and chicken burger, both of which were lovely. We followed this with Churros and Sticky Toffee Pudding. They were OK. The portion of the sticky toffee was so generous, but there just wasn't enough sauce to balance the dish. I would definitely recommend visiting is near, and the beers brewed on site are definitely worth sampling! Also they are super dog friendly!

A great pub with a vibrant atmosphere and enthusiastic staff. They brew their own beer on the premises which is fantastic and fresh. You can view the brewing equipment through a window in the bar. Also has a wonderful large open fireplace. Food looked good although we didn't eat here. Highly recommended..... especially for those tasty real ales.

Well what can I say about the MBH, apart from its excellent. Let’s talk about the staff, friendly and welcoming. The German Paulaner is perfect and if you like IPA’s your in for a treat. On rotation the ales keep coming, this is all down to Will the owner, who is somewhat of a wizard. Food is excellent and if your inclined towards fish then plenty of choice. Lastly man’s best friend is welcomed with treats and water bowls everywhere This pub/brewhouse is well worth a visit, I guarantee you’ll be back
