We hadn't booked but they managed to squeeze us in. It was a Tuesday night and the place was packed. Food was served quickly and was delicious. We've been to Lal Qilla every time we stay in Lyme and it is consistently good.

A great little Indian restaurant. The food is always good. We visit quite often and have never been disappointed. PS.. Don't forget your own booze. ENJOY.

Spent weekend with some friends fishing and decided to try the local Bengali restaurant although I had some doubts. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and authentic flavours. Restaurant was very busy and staff very friendly and efficient. Ask for ‘Apna” style if you want something something more traditional with the caveat that it’s not hot. Enjoy.

Ten of us enjoyed a lovely meal at Lal Qilla to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday in May. The food was superb and served very promptly by the excellent staff who looked after us very well, aside from a short wait to be seated upon arrival. The restaurant doesn’t serve drinks, but that was absolutely fine for us. There was no air conditioning which meant it was quite warm inside, but not uncomfortably so. For the food alone, I’d definitely recommend Lal Qilla.

We had a takeaway for four people, all the dishes were delivered hot and were delicious. We really enjoyed them! Would definitely order again.

We enjoyed an evening meal here on our recent holiday to the area. The food was beautiful, really fresh and cooked well. The service was good, we didn't wait very long for our food to arrive.

I’m on holiday in Lyme Regis and tonight fancied a curry. My ‘Go To’ dish is always Chicken Tikka Madras. I have found that not all restaurants can create the complex and extremely tasty flavour of a Madras sauce. Lal Qilla certainly can. The taste was perfect and the tikka pieces succulent. Service was also very good with very polite staff despite it being really busy (clearly a very popular place!). Would highly recommend.

An excellent ‘traditional’ Indian restaurant. The staff are very friendly, the service very good and the food excellent. No drinks licence so remember to take your own tipple. Very reasonable cost be it ‘eat in’ or ‘takeaway’.

It was decent, our food was a little sweet, not very spicy, despite being a masala (not the hottest I know, but too sweet). Great breads, lovely rice, good Chana masala WARNING: Take your own booze - get that from the local Lyme Regis Brewery Taproom We did!

Always guaranteed a good meal. Service last night was a bit hit and miss. But can not fault the food.

Standard Asian restaurant with superb beautifully cooked food. Has to be among the best if not the best in the area. Highly recommended. Excellent friendly service and great value. One strange thing to note is asking you to bring your own alcohol as they don't sell it. As there is a small Tesco a few doors away this is no problem and makes your meal cheaper! Best to book in key holiday times.
