Home away from home! The staff are fantastic and I would recommend to anyone! Always been looked after when ever I've been there to dine or casually drink. If I could give 6* I would!

We booked here at The Olde Royal Oak for three birthdays and there was twenty two of us. We were really happy with being seated all together in a room where we could all speak to each other. The food was brilliant and for a big party it all came out within five, six minutes of each other and all came out hot which we were really pleased with. The service was also very good at the bar and at the table and the waitresses cleared the tables quickly and efficiently which allowed us to enjoy the rest of our night. Highly recommend The Olde Royal Oak for all needs; drinks, meals or even big parties.

My daughter and I nipped in for some lunch, she is a vegetarian and was pleased with the choices. I had fajitas, she had mushroom carbonara and we shared some sweet potato fries, we had a lemon and lime each and i had change from £20. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and thought it not bad value too.

+ Food was good. + Little play house for kids up to 10 y.o. + Don't have to book in advance - Slow and not great service. Had to ask for ketchup/ extras few times. - Limited bar choice - Kids portions are a bit small

Good old english pub... Lovely in the summer in the beer garden. Bouncy castle for the kids to keep the little ones from bugging while you have a relaxing beer or 6

On the very first Sunday of December, visited for the lunch time menu. Had a search on Google maps for Sunday lunch in this area. Great looking pub on the outside, real fires inside,. Clean tidy, great service and xmas menu. Food was fresh, crunchy although others would have like the veg cooked a little longer. Really good Turkey and cheese cake for afters.

the garden is lovely and there is play equipment and a bouncy castle for the kids, the chef went out of his way to make a homemade bbq sauce for our son, you can't ask for more than that. thank you

They didn't have what I originally wanted so ordered the lasagne which wasn't brilliant, lacking in flavour but everything else we ordered was of good quality and tasted good.

Went with my daughter's hockey team for a post match drink and chips. The chips were tasty. There was a big room we went into so as not to disturb the other people in the pub. Would recommend.

Excellent lunch for 5 of us (age range 24-87) at this warm and welcoming pub. All the staff were very friendly and professional, with exceptional interaction from the chef who likes to meet his customers, listen to their preferences and offer personal recommendations accordingly. Small touches like a complimentary bowl of pigs in blankets on arrival while we looked at the menu were appreciated. Food (Steak/Fish/Pork) was all very good and superb value for money. Good range of beers. Thoroughly recommend this pub.

Visited for the first time today. Arrived for lunch and had the fish, chips and mushy peas which was excellent. Overall the pub is spacious, has a large beer garden, a very large car park and the staff are lovely. Definitely recommend a visit.

Good pub with at least 2 good real ales. The landlady and her husband from Sunderland are great and don't tolerate any idiots. We were visiting for a 60th but would be happy if this was our 'local'.
