We could have spent hours just sitting listening to the wonderful 40s soundtrack and taking in all the nostalgia. The food is traditional, tasty and reasonably priced, my son was impressed that Bovril was offered as a drink. The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Wow this place gives us the shivers, in a good way & makes us think of good memories of our grandparents. Having a lovely bacon sandwich with my brother Karl. Xx

On June 27th my fifth novel, Foxden Hotel, was launched with a tea party at the fabulous 1940s Cafe, Back In Time For Tea, on the Leicester Road, in Lutterworth. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it. The ladies who served us couldn't have done more to make the launch go smoothly, and the atmosphere was perfect. Journalist Andrew Carpenter joined us for tea and took some lovely photographs. One was in the Rugby Advertiser. Thank you Anna and the ladies who work at, Back In Time For Tea, you made the lauch very special.

I love this place. A real hidden gem in the most unlikely of places but also makes sense being attached to an Army Surplus store. It does make you want to dress up as one of the Andrews Sisters and put victory rolls in your hair. Cosy and welcoming and a real step back in time. Great home made cakes and fantastic service. Just fabulous.

A lovely place to sit and have a Birthday Afternoon Tea. Nick and Maria are perfect hosts who gave us a lovely insight to their beautiful home and its history. Would definitely recommend booking a visit and a tour of the house.

A totally different way to see local history and have locally sourced food. Have a cup of tea or coffee, then a guided tour of the building. Then have your afternoon tea. Very knowledgeable about the history of the building and the area.

Nick and Maria are brilliant hosts. The tour was packed with historical information about the property, the village and the local area. It was incredible to learn about the work they have done to restore it to its former glory. Their home is like a museum, filled with artefacts relating to the building's history. The enormous toy collections made us feel particularly nostalgic. The tea, sandwiches, cakes and scones were lovely. Thank you for a wonderful few hours. We'll certainly be recommending to family and friends.

Phone in advance to book and be prepared for the perfect spot for afternoon tea. The old coaching inn that the tea room is in is worth a visit in it’s self. The tour was great with plenty of collectables from the years the inn has existed. The tea, sandwiches and cakes were lovely and there was plenty for two of us. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
