Freshly reopened pub. Food was surprisingly good, staff is givibg effort to please customers which is a good sign. Food menu as we wre told is not set due to fresh reopening and it will (most likely) change in near future. However, current selection on menu is safe and well prepared foods. Knowing that out of 4 different food options we had - all of us were happy. Good start and it should be kept towards good direction!
This is a lovely, friendly, welcoming village pub, with a large outside area, perfect for an al fresco tipple and outside events.
Laura and her team are brilliant, offering various events throughout the year, from a Christmas Market, to special occasions such as the Coronation and fundraisers for good causes, karaoke and live music. The monthly quiz night is another highlight and very well done, with a yummy cheese and charcuterie board included. A great night enjoyed by all. Details of events are on Facebook.
Lovely proper pub which has been refurbed into two large spaces but retains pub character and has kept its dartboard. The best feature is independent cask ales and in my visit there were two on supplied by the local Farr's Brewery.
A lovely old-school pub with lovely decor. Great for a swift drink, friends' reunion or a bit of footy. Real close to Luton airport 👍
Popped in for a quick pint on a cold Tuesday afternoon. Landlady was welcoming and served a nice pint. With a real fire and the World Cup I didn't want to leave.
We popped in for drinks last night, freshly decorated, new staff new management and all lovely. Really friendly atmosphere, they are also looking for a chef, so pleased to hear they will be doing good pub food as soon as. Lyn.
Delicious food! Staff are so friendly and Manuela is just a treat to talk to! Lovely Farr Brew beers on tap alongside a varied gin and spirits offering. Will be recommending to all my friends.

Love this pub. Although I don't live in the area I always make a point of stopping off when passing Slip End. Good food, friendly, efficient service and lovely beer. Staff have been great during this part of lockdown - especially attentive to outside drinkers. Proper pub.
Great local pub. Been restored to glory by the guys at Farr Brew. Had a very pleasant couple of hours in the bar. Felt at home instantly, Alex the barman looked after us and was very attentive and knowledgeable. All round good experience.
A brilliant pub. Friendly atmosphere and delicious food. Manuela and Manu are great, and you will always be well looked after. So glad we chose it for my mother-in-law's 60th - it was spot on!
Nice family friendly atmosphere, a place that seems you can mix in with the locals. This is a very historic location and the bartender like his job and does it well. Only down side is, the furniture could do with some upgrade and maybe a better food and drinks menu. Recommend
The wife & I just had a very tasty meal and we will definitely be returning soon! I had the burger which was delicious and a good size portion of paprika covered chips. The wife had the mushroom stroganoff which was also very tasty!! 👍
Nice pub, very friendly staff and locals. Has a real good fell to it.
Drop in for lunch! This slightly remote pub offers a superb menu, dare I say that it is because of the Italian influence of Manuela & Manuel who run this pub, the Italians would lose their self respect if they did not serve excellent food! Top marks, try the fish cake on a bed of spinach with a hollandaise
& chilli sauce, what a gem of a place
Food was excellent and enough variety on the menu. Staff also very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely go back. They also do a pizza takeaway service.
